TOYOTA SIENNA IS THE BEST ! I bought a new 2010 Honda Odyssey, and a new 2010 Toyota Sienna, for my USPS Mail routes .. 370 miles a day each .. Both vans were serviced by the dealerships I bought them from .. Both vans were serviced at the required mileage, including the transmissions .. The Honda Odyssey engine went out at 267,516 miles .. The Toyota Sienna has 359,987 miles, and still going strong ! I have bought 3 other Toyota Sienna vans for my other routes .. I'm a Toyota buyer for life !!

I drove the 2019 and I must say it's impressive how much more power it has along with features. I have a 2012 elite but drove the ex model, but I must say that for 10k less it is packed full of technology and would go for the Ex this time around instead of the touring. In my opinion the extra 10k is not worth of what you get in return.

When it comes to cars, Americans care way too much about "Personal Image" over how much more practical minivans actually are.
@Accurize24 жыл бұрын
Phrancis5 What does that say about Europeans though? They don’t even have them in Europe...well except the Metris, but Doug DeMuro pretty much handled that rebuttal. So Americans clearly buy enough of them to have it as a competitive market.

Switch from Honda Odyssey and Honda accord to Toyota Sienna and Toyota Camry because of the transmission problem. Honda. accord transmission replaced at 34,000 miles, good still under warranty. Honda Odyssey , complaining about the wheezing sound on the transmission and had been recall 2 times. Didn’t solve the problem, dealer said its natural,😡😡Sound system in both Odyssey and Accord sounds terrible. Still trying to evaluate the Sienna and Camry, got only 5000m each.

I currently have the previous generation Odyssey (2017), and I immediately noticed that they corrected one of the things I do not like about mine. The middle row seats have armrests on both sides. Once you take out the middle seat/section on mine, the bucket seats are left without armrest on the inside, which I do not like. The other things I do not like about mine are wind noise, which is surprisingly high, and the ride quality, which isn't as plush as I would like.

We test drove the Odyssey Elite and 2017 Acura MDX. During the test, I did not have any connection with the Odyssey. When we pull in to a gas station, the front bumper hit the concrete bar of the parking space because it was too low. We got the MDX a day later. I don't think this van will do well in snow due to its ground clearance.
@realnapster15222 жыл бұрын
Very few people need AWD. If you know how to drive on snow FWD with snow tires is good enough.
@oldtwinsna83476 жыл бұрын
It's too bad Honda didn't put the SH-AWD on the Odyssey, whether it is a drive shaft version (might take up too much interior center hump space), or an all-electric system similar to the MDX/RLX/NSX. An Acura-flagged model would've been nice too, but I guess they fear it would cannibalize sales of their SUVs.
@criznitty6 жыл бұрын
oldtwins Acura is having some trouble in the creativity department. They market sport luxury vehicles, but in reality, the interiors are lacking and any zest in styling is offput by something, usually the grille.

I enjoyed your review. At 5:44 - 6:00 you mentioned that the adaptive cruise control is not really good for the daily commute and that it disables under 20 mph. I have a 2017 CR-V and it operates all the way to a stop and will even resume again on its own if the car in front of you begins moving within a few seconds. If traffic comes to a complete stop for more than a few seconds then it will begin again if you tap the resume button. I’m just wondering if this Odyssey operates differently.
@Phrancis56 жыл бұрын
My complaint about using ACC in our new CRV is that it leaves too much of a gap even with the shortest setting - and you will inevitably be cut off. Within just a few miles of stop n go traffic, you'll end up with 10+ more cars in front of you.

It has snow mode. Which works apparently very well with winter tires. I have an mdx and a '12 odessey, the only difference I find in winter driving between the 2 is when from a stopped position the odessey spins the tires. The snow mode slows the acceleration so that won't happen. Quite effective in the winter.

Stow n go can't be overstated, it's awesome, necessary and not in the precious Honda.
@BrandonWest875 жыл бұрын
I'll see your stow and go, and raise you one "Magic Slide"! I bought my van to move people, not sheet goods. For letting older kids in and out of the back, the ability to slide the outboard seat to the center is wholly indispensable. Perfect for letting the older kids climb in and self buckle while I tend to getting the little ones buckled up in the second row. If I'm planning on moving something large, I rent an inexpensive trailer, do the job, and return it. Done.

I loved my 2014 odyssey. But I love my new 2017 Pacifica even more. The new 2018 odyssey is excellent, however it’s missing several key features that’s available on the Pacifica I use everyday and now I can’t live wo, such as 360 camera, front and back parking sensors, remote start via my phone app, heated steering wheel, hands free sliding door and exterior buttons for the kids to easily open and close the sliding door. If Honda could add these useful feature, it would be perfect. In the meantime I’m sticking w the Pacifica.

Yep. It does not have a 360° camera but it does have: front and back parking sensors, remote start via a phone app, heated steering wheel, hands free sliding door. It also doesn't have an exterior button for the door for the kids. It has a handle that when you pull it, the door electronically opens (similar; but different mechanism than a button.) You should definitely look at the suite of features. It is generally ranked #1 in Minivans.

I love my new Pacifica and I also think the new odyssey is terrific. But I’m not sure I can live without the 360 camera, hands free sliding door and the exterior button to open the sliding doors. I use these features several times a day and they’re extremely convenient. I recently test drove the Pacifica hybrid and I loved it. They updated the 2018 slightly with a bunch of minor improvements over my 2017. The power train was awesome. When my current Pacifica lease is up the hybrid will be my replacement - that’s if the ev tax rebate is still available.

When looking for a vehicle for a family, it’s important to put practicality and safety over looks and speed. A small, speedy car is not a practical or safe car for most families. A small vehicle can’t hold as many things or people. In a sports car you’re more likely to speed, just because you can, which puts you, the people in the car, and other people in danger. If you don’t care about the safety and practicality of your car when buying it for your family, you will look like an asshole to countless people, most likely even the people in your car.
