Today we install the PRL Front Mount intercooler on the 2018 Honda Type R! Insanely easy installation process and the car had no issues afterwards without a tune!! Thank you to Evan for helping me get this done so quickly!!

You know it's an awesome car when it almost looks just as good with the bumper off as it does when it's on. The intercooler looks so sick! The small and easy things can make the biggest difference

Dustin, from one CTR owner to another, you need to replace your rear motor mount. It gets rid of the wheel hop and helps put the power down. I’m using the Hasport FCRR 70A Mount and its awesome! Also, the CTR NEEDS much stickier tires than you are currently running. I’m running Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2’s and they’re freaking amazing! If you need to stick with Yokohama, have them hook you up with Advan Neova AD08 R’s, or even better, the Advan A052. These two mods, sticky tires and stiffer rear motor mount, will make the car accelerate much quicker, by actually putting power down rather than just spinning the tires. I’m sure you are planning on tuning the car, which makes these mods that much more necessary. Take care.

Dude... your channel is one of the more enjoyable auto channels...keep it simple man and good luck. It's like a mix of StreetSpeed and ChrisFix... By the way, the new intercooler will make no difference to the performance unless the stock one was extremely crap... and I don't think it was that bad. It's a great supporting mod though for when you do decide to up the tune, and will allow for some more boost.

All I have is the PRL front pipe and tuned with Hondata. Those 2 mods itself with one of the best tuners I know of, made 344whp and 371wtq. Possibly more if I'd stop getting heat soaked. All on a dynojet. Not those higg reading dynapack hub dynos. Can't wait til I get the downpipe and FMIC. P.S. Your Type R videos interest me more than many I see on here

Me and a friend installed the PRL intercooler on my ‘19 FK8 today. Boy, so many clips…once the front bumper/grill is off the rest is easy. I’ve also got the PRL cold air intake and turbo inlet pipe.

Just test drove the type r this weekend. My takeaways will be that It is unfortunate that the type r can only do 1 to 2 full laps on the track before it overheats smh. Definitely need to resolve the massive heat soaking issues and actually implement functional ducting.

10:05 that 2nd gear grinding is a common issue with gearboxes in 2016+ Civics. Google that so you will save yourself a lot of money in the future. It's quite easy to fix.

Unco Casey without a larger turbo pushing much more boost, he wouldn't see any power gains even with a tune. On a wrx I could understand putting a fmic on a stock car, accepting a tiny bit more lag for the aggressive looks of the front mount. But on a stock car that already has a fmic, unless if hes planning on going big turbo soon, then it was just a lot of money spent for lettering.

installing just a bigger intercooler on a stock car will give zero performace upgrade.

Helps with IATs, does the job just fine with no lag and the intercooler is really well put together. Not necessarily for power (I feel like a 'no shit captain obvious' is in order...), but a hell of a support mod when the tune gets put in place. Stage 1 is giving people higher than comfortable temps going 9/10ths on the track. I really can't stress enough how nice the piece is in person. Source: met with a few people that already have it installed, mine is sitting in the living room waiting to be put on.
