I have to say that solo on the trumpet by Victor Carrascosa is about as good as I have ever heard and I just passed 85. This has to be one of my favorite standards and he just blew me away with his licks! OMG! Luigi Grasso's alto soared like a bird once again. It has been a long time since I have enjoyed a big band rendition of this, this much! Kudos again to the Maestro Chamorro who has worked musical miracles again and again! Bless you sir! If they knight people in your country, they should do it for you.

I listen to the front people playing and they are good, but we cannot discount the beauty of the band that plays behind them. They are so synchronized I really love them. They’re hard workers and they’re very good Jay Osborne.

In a band with so much talent within its ranks, I love to see the mutual admiration so evident. Constantly listening to what the other guy is playing. I'm in awe of the whole set-up led by the admirable Joan Chamorro.

me too. first thing i noticed. but that's a diff between Catalan and USA culture. my Catalan friend went to high school for one year in Wyoming. i asked him how it was. he said he could not believe all the aggression and fighting, esp beteen males. he said, "we dont do that." was only in Catalunya for 2 weeks, but did not have a single unpleasant encounter..it was genuinely chill.

Love to watch the animated direction on Mr. Joan. Hey band! You better be paying attention: when he points to you, you sure as heck better be ready. It is glaringly obvious that he is fully engaged, which in itself, demands the best out of his students as ensemble players and soloists. He excites, and lights the fire. There are plenty of jazz band directors at the high school and college levels that merely kind of sashay around as poor lost souls that don't know what to do with themselves and why they are there.....

Marvellous version of this poignant song dedicated to those who had to go to war and never made it back to their loved ones back home. Lovey arrangement, great harmony from the SAJB and great solos all round. Victor Carrascosa already plays a very fine trumpet like many of those before him. But the SAJB has this habit of turning out fine trumpeters, saxophonists and God knows what else. They never cease to astonish.

Just listen how Victor and Jan deliver their part of "juvenile skills", while the "new" kids, Max and Noa, blend into the trumpet section naturally! Generations (in kid's measures) join to a common task (5:11) - adorable!! Next, Luigi, the adult, supports Victor, the junior, in his lead part (5:38) - he's got the spirit (and the shirt, in another video) to be one with SAJB!
