Nice job on the video Chase! 2016 Indian Scout owner here; awesome bike - 30k miles with no major issues. (Brakes suck and always scraping pegs in hard corners.) Having said all that, am considering “adding” (not getting rid of this bike), an MT-09 SP to my stable for increased lean angle in the mountains and a little more power from 0-100. This Scout is awesome for a leisurely spirited ride around town!!

Riding both sport and cruisers, I try to explain to people that both are great and fun, just in different ways. The sport/nakeds are like driving a Ferrari. A cruiser is like driving a powerful sport sedan/coupe. More relaxed but you can still romp on it and take some turns and enjoy yourself.

I got a '21 indian scout bobber as my first bike. A little over 300miles on it now but I love these bikes. Pretty solid first bikes imo with a nice, steady throttle but will give you power when you ask for it. I primarily use it for commuting and it's pretty nice on the highway, I range from 55 to 70 mph so far as I'm acclimating myself to the wind since I'm still a newbie. I have yet to scrape any pegs either but it's probably just that I haven't been entering corners aggressively. Edit: it should be like mine with a digital tachometer. Behind where the turn signal switch is, there's a button that toggles RPM, Trip mileage, actual mileage and voltage.

My wife has a Scout 60 she wanted the bobber also, but we were told you can't get a windshield for the bobber. Because we ride a lot of highway she wanted the windshield. I do get to ride it every now and then, they are really fun to ride, but because I am used to my 18 Yamaha Venture TC (a 960 lb bike), the scout feels like more of a scooter. I still really like it and so does she. She really likes how light it is and how short the seat height is.

I have that same issue with the turn signal switch. Luckily, I normally don’t have to manually cancel them because they are actually self canceling. The self canceling feature doesn’t work quite as well as on a Harley, but it works pretty good. Has a lane change feature as well, you hold the signal switch in your desired direction, and then let go after your lane change, and it turns off. Also, that bike should have mileage, tachometer, water temp, voltage, trip meter, gear indicator, and clock, the selection switch for it is on the backside of the left hand switch block. Redline is 8,300 rpm, and it produces power all the way to redline.

The ride of the Bobber is completely different! The comfort level in my opinion actually sucks on the bobber. I have this exact bike only 2020. This paint scheme is actually the Icon series verses the standard scout. And the Harley IS top heavy compared to the lower center of gravity that Indian has created. Even the cheif being about 150 lbs more seemed less top heavy than the Harley sportster to me. The main reason I chose the Indian over the Harley even though it broke my husband's heart a little when I did! Lol I couldn't love this bike more!

Seriously, what’s the obsession with a tach? You don’t ride a cruiser based on instrument readings. You ride a cruiser based on feel and feedback from the bike. She will tell you when to shift if you pay attention. No need to waste your attention looking down at the dials. “Feel the bike”. That’s how you ride a v twin cruiser.

OC - When I was first getting into riding, the Scout Bobber was what I wanted. Nothing else. When I finally got to sit on one, I was super disappointed. Being 6'2'' tall with a 36'' inseam, the motorcycle just felt too small. My knees literally hit the handlebars when the bars were turned, and just sitting on it felt like sitting on a motorcycle-shaped lawn chair, so I had to look elsewhere. Especially since riding to get anywhere in Phoenix is essentially touring. And I looked like a circus bear riding a mini bike. That Scout Bobber though... guess that's why I went for the Dyna Fat Bob. Circus bear is still there though... lol. Just not as pronounced.

There is a lot to like about these, however, a 15 minute ride can be deceiving. The seating position and lack of suspension travel will become extremely uncomfortable 45 minutes to an hour into a ride for a lot of people. And it is too low for mid controls unless the rider is very short. I had one for a year and got rid of it. Otherwise, the Scout is a blast.

Awesome video! Still in the middle of it but wanted to point out: As an owner of a 2018 bobber, you do have RPM digitally displayed in the speedo but you have to cycle to it. You were also short shifting it considerably on the 40 to 80 pull. It's no Harley, it revs out to a touch over 8k. So that pull could have been much more spicy.
