This is literally the favourite large SUV, it’s so gorgeous and I get to drive new cars every day, but damn your job is something I can only dream of doing with my life! Maybe someday you’ll get to test the Murano, I drive them all the time and the interiors are near luxury SUV status.

The interior might be outdated, but these things actually drive way better than they look. Silky smooth ride, smooth steering, and it doesn't even handle that bad for what it is either. Agree with your comments on the 7-speed too, it's extremely smooth, and the shifts are quick and responsive. The QX80 feels big on the road, but it has the feel of a smaller car.

I agree with CTJacob. Parts reuse between differently-priced vehicles would bug me. I have an IS, and one of the things that stands out to me about it is that it shares almost nothing with my old Toyota Camry. The only thing perhaps is the cruise control stalk. But, in this QX80, you get a lot of parts from Nissan and older vehicles. The steering wheel is in fact the exact same one from the Armada and bears a resemblance to the steering wheel found in a Nissan Versa Note. That would be a problem for me if I'm spending over $80k on a car. I mean even the turn signal sound is the same as in a Nissan Versa Note! Why!?

It's amazing to see how every time someone reviews this car how they state how nice the interior is yet all the comments focus directly on the dated tech, as if it's the only thing that matters... some people weigh a good quality, luxurious interior and great ride over infotainment. Most people in these comments haven't even driven the the thing, let alone been in one. I have never driven it, but have been inside one and the whole "dated" thing disappears when you realize how high quality everything is.
@Lucky8s6 жыл бұрын
It's 2018, almost 2019. Communication, manufacturing, e-commerce and digital payments, globalisation, medical advancements, and many more, they were all improved or created because of tech. Everything revolves around technology. The people that don't use it are the ones that are outdated, just like this vehicle. It doesn't matter how good the quality is if it lacks in such a fundamental area, unless of course Nissan's goal was to target 70 year olds with abundant pensions. The Mercedes GLS, a competitor, has best in class quality, and yet it still comes with all the bells and whistles. There is no excuse for Nissan not to.
@dedreandixon46206 жыл бұрын
That's fine in a world where every piece of technology is necessary... but that's not a world we live in. Yes technology is huge but every aspect of it is NOT important to everyone and to call someone "outdated" because of that fact is rather naive. I don't need CarPlay in my car... would it be nice to have, of course, but it is not on the top of my list for must haves. That's MY reality, and I can acknowledge the fact that other people have different realities. And it seems theres about 1500-3000 people every month whose realities don't necessitate every bit of technology packed into their luxury SUV. I make no excuse for Nissan skimping on properly updating the tech of this thing, but it is STILL damn good for what it is and it sells accordingly.

How is Lexus more modern than this Infiniti? According to most KZbin reviews I've seen of recent Lexus SUV products (RX, RX-L, NX, GX460, LX570), the main complaints are underpowered drive train, poor gas mileage, outdated infotainment tech, reduced interior passenger and cargo space, and limited standard driver safety assistance features. Lexus still doesn't offer standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. At least Lexus can still count on their perceived "reliability" to attract buyers who aren't concerned with the aforementioned complaints.
@GT-ed2un6 жыл бұрын
I think its the execution that matters. I would agree that Lexus feels very subpar compared to most luxury alternatives (not to mention grossly over styled while reeking of old man), but I will give lexus this...the tech they DO have works better than infiniti's does. I had one of these when they first came out because our 2011 Lexus LX570 was totaled just 6 months after we bought it. The active cruise control, blind spot monitoring, navigation etc were all just a little smoother and more precise in the lexus. Infiniti's electronic nannies were either way too intrusive, or way too late to engage...no real in-between.
