Man takes the time to describe a specific issue many of us are having and half the comments are ragging on him for taking too long. Ridiculous. The guy is explaining the entire troubleshooting process and he says plain as day at the end that replacing the starter solved the issue.

I'm having the same problem with my 2018 kia forte. Did you find the problem? The dealer can't find the problem. A few times a month I have trouble starting it in the morning.

@@peterl6095 I just got my car back from the dealer today. They found the problem. About a month ago I had a new battery installed in the car. Aparently Canadian Tire didn't install the battery properly and had a bad connection on the positive terminal. This would explain why only sometimes my car wouldn't start.

Same problem here, it starts if I hold key in start position. Everything inside still works, lights don't go dim when driven. Just hard time starting.

Oh my goddd! I literally just sat in front of my job for two hours just now. Triple a cane and checked battery, said it was fine so I had to order a tow truck. I just read this comment and did the same thing and my car crunk right up! THANK YOUUUUU. God bless

So, I’ve been going through the same thing for the last year and a half, it’s not the Alt, it’s not my “brand new battery”. When I hit on the left side of the battery (opposite of ground wire), I hear a “click click”, so I get n the car, (lights are coming on), bada bing bada boom, it starts up: now my guess is, bc I’m still not sure (no one seems to figure it out), gotta be a fuse, or wire. I’m guessing loose or corroded wire. Now a lot of ppl say starter but.... it’s not giving “starter code”. It seems to be an over looked issue in these kias that I believe is a recall. Not enough ppl are reporting it. I also noticed for some odd reason if I use my “car charger” plug in, it happens. We gotta crack this code. I’m just a girl tryna figure this shit out lol. Heeeeelp !!

So this sounds really weird, my friends car has been doing this. I figured it out!! Kia says it’s not a recall but I feel it is. Turn the key in the in position, not to crank it… put the gear in drive then put it back to park and the car should start right after!!!

I've had the same issue 3 times since July. First time I had it jumped, the other 2 it started on it's own. One Kia dealer said it was a bad battery but they did replace 4 ignition coils that were under recall. I declined the battery at first since I really doubted it was the battery, I had it checked 3 times at autozone, firestone and O'Reillys. Firestone and autozone said it was my alternator. The other Kia dealership I took it to for the battery the next day ( national battery shortage) said everything tested normal and I didn't need a battery! I ended up buying it anyways since it is 3 years old and 56000 miles. I told them if I had a problem again I would be back to the original Kia that tested it. Guess what? It happened again tonight😪 I will take it back tomorrow.

Could be the wire that connects the alternator to your battery is corroded and it's not charging your battery 100%. You can try directly connecting your alternator to your battery....either that or you have a parasitic drain somewhere...like leaving a light on in the car.

Had a no start no crank in my Kia Carnival and all it was is the key fob battery died, replaced battery in the key fob and everything works fine now

Same issue….Kia dealership told me that my terminal isn’t made after market ….and they don’t have the part …I was told to get a terminal cover to fit over the original to make contact so the car can crank …it worked and really didn’t fit but I got it on enough to touch ….still having issues I personally think this particular vehicle u need to have the stock Kia battery which is why I see in comments with ppl saying they were told to get a battery when at Kia…..if it’s a recall then Kia needs to just say that ….bunch of us here having this issue it isn’t safe and a fire hazard to say the least

A fix that I found is if your inner power locks work it will start after playing with it.
