2018 Latsis Prize: Computational chemistry for life

The computational chemist Sereina Riniker has won this year’s Latsis Prize awarded by ETH Zurich. She has been recognised for developing new methods for molecular dynamics simulations. Her innovative approaches are valuable, namely in the study of cyclic peptides, a group of molecules that play an important role in medicine as active substances.

They almost got me, but then they started talking about proteins and sugars, yikes! Chemistry is such a big field abd computational chemistry can be so useful but why does it always have to do with biology medicine or pharmacy. Where are rhe battery research, the Material research...
