If you're reading this, I hope you are doing well, taking care of yourself, and making efforts to spread positivity during these times. I'm sure the last thing you want to hear about rn is computational chemistry, but hopefully this video makes you smile in some way. I tried to make it fun & intuitive and lmk if you're interested in learning more! :)
if you are not new to chemistry/comp chem: lmk if you like/hate my explanation in this video
if you are new to chem/comp chem: hopefully this vid makes you intrigued just a little bit
I'll try my best to respond:

wrote 'code in chemistry' in the search bar bc i couldnt figure out what the fusion of compsci and chemsitry was. your video was highly informative and your jokes are pathetic but made me laugh out loud all the same. when you said computational chemistry uses quantum mechanics i got very excited so thank you for exposing me to this, i am getting ready to watch your other videos. you are compelling and definitely resourceful, keep it going xxx

Only little part of computational chemistry deals with Schrodinger's or Dirac quantum mechanics, almost all industrially-relevant computational chemistry, which heavily involves molecular dynamics simulations, deals with classical mechanics, statistical mechanics, and Newton's equation of motion.

Hey Megan I really appreciate all these videos discussing Computational Chemistry!! I just got my B.E. in chemical engineering want to ultimately work in CC. Do you have any recommendations as to how I can start gathering relevant experience in CC to help me enter the CC industry? My goal is to make a personal portfolio of CC projects so that I may be considered for professional CC roles. Thanks!

What are the core programming languages to learn for Computational Chemistry as an high school grad? I just graduated high school and I'm aspiring to study Chemical engineering for Bachelor's degree and later major in Computational Chemistry. Probably, for master's degree or PhD. So.., I literally don't want to waist my time. Please, kindly make a video on this 🙏🙏.

Well, I used to love computer science in high school but once cheated on her with chemistry in AP Chem and felt I am in love with chem as well. Then I decided to date their child, computional chemistry. (Technically, it's a major called computer science and chemistry, I will do comp chem in grad school)

@@user-ep8kz9fj8t I'm not a professional in this field but I think you should need -A strong basics Knowledge of Thermodynamics , Chemical Bonding ,Solid State Physics and the most Importantly Quantum Chemistry . Understanding of these topics will help you to understand the theory parts mainly and for Computational work You must need to learn some software ,based on your area ( eg : Gaussian ,Material Studio etc ) And the basics knowledge of Programming Languages like C++,Python and R Will Definitely gonna uses in this area. Search More about it on KZbin and Google .You will definitely get more valuable information .All the best.

@DynamicClassroom
@DynamicClassroom 3 жыл бұрын
@@user-ep8kz9fj8t Yes .I Completed my Major In Physical Chemistry and in my final semester I did a winter project under a CSIR Institute. I did my Project on material science. Drug designing is one of the HOT field which Completely based on Computational Chemistry and I am planning for doing my future studies on this field. Focusing on Basic Programming languages will definitely going to help you in this field .
