The "Plus" sign on the badge means that the 4 Wheel Drive can be "shut off", thus facilitating rear wheel drive only and "Drift" mode.

We just had the 2018 AMG E63 S Edition 1 come threw the dealership I work for, same color, in person this color is so amazing looking. The interior is one of the nicest i have ever been in.

Thanks Brandon. I believe most people unfortunately will not be a fan of the matt flat colors. Either you like it or you don't. This vehicle is the best AMG built to date, nothing else comes close. You have two sides to this vehicle, on one side a med-sized luxury sedan, & on the other a high performance beast. It doesn't get any better than this. It will be the best of the last V8s built by AMG. A recent youtube video put this vehicle head-to-head in a drag race with the new Porsche 911 991 Turbo. The E 63 S AMG just kept pulling away and increasing its distance at 0 to 100km/hr, 100 to 200km/hr & 200 to 300 km/hr. In fact, I have yet to see a youtube video where this vehicle comes second. Truly, value for money and a vehicle you can live with for the rest of your life.

I usually buy a new M5 when they come out but after driving this I'm seriously thinking about buying the new e63s it just seems like such a great car. thanks again for your comment. Thanks for your reply. The matt flat colors require a special foaming cleaning agent to wash so you don't damage the paint work, the extra time and care required can drive you crazy. If you're thinking of buying the Edition 1, maybe consider 'wrapping' the vehicle as soon as you take delivery. Otherwise, if you buy the E63S, I would suggest either obsidian black or selenite grey both metallic colors, both would look great with the RTS 20-inch forged wheels in matt Black with high-sheen rim flange. This vehicle really is that good, if you buy one, you will never regret it. You just want to keep on driving it. Best of luck with your decision.

I had the magno cashmere white on my CLS63S. The magno paint is very easy to care for, just wash it using satin soap in a foam gun and dry it. Or bring the soap to a car wash place and have them hand wash it. You can put a sealant on it if you like but never needs waxing. It has extra clear coats compared to the gloss paint, so it is tough and a good body shop can match it easily. And very nice review, I'm thinking about trading in my '15 S63 Coupe for a '18 now that it is updated.

absolutely love this car and this review, stunning. how comfortable is the suspension/ride in comfort mode? how far off is it from a s class/7 series or something in that regard? also do you think the racing seats are a must for this car?

+t0mmygunz the ride Comfort is really good. it's not quite as good as a 7 Series obviously. but it does have air suspension and it feels great in Comfort mode. if it was me as much as I love the racing seats I wouldn't get them. I feel like the standard seats are much more comfortable and better for a daily driver. Skip the race seats get the AMG premium package instead.👍

You've probably got the best overall video on KZbin right now of this car, nice job! So I'm about to trade in my 991.2 Carrera S for one of these because a need more practicality on a daily basis, especially if I want to drive with both my wife and 15 month old, right now we have to take my wife's SUV because we can't all three fit in the 911 since the passenger seat is not useful if I've got my son in his car seat in the back. Do you think I'd be missing the 911 to much or this E63S would satisfy?

Top of the Merc range is the 6.0l V12 Bi Turbo motor in the S-Class with even more power in AMG S65. The new AMG S63 has the same engine and power as the E63S but can't switch from AWD to RWD.

With the Matte paint can you wash it in a drive through regular car wash with brushes or is there special care needed to protect Matte paint.

Wish they had put a revised version of 5.5 liter, the 4 liter which it shares with the C class is not exciting anymore, lost that heavy monster sounding engine, great new design with Turbos on top and the transmission, also the drift mode rocks! The interior is awsome also. And the body looks like the C class and the S , have to look twice to see what car it's.

Hi Brandon, sorry to say mate this doesn't do anything for me outside but then I'm not a fan of matt schemes. Still gave you a thumbs up for posting ;) reminds me of the rover 75 especially at the rear quarter. Much preferred the old gen M BMW you drove a while back so many vehicles shapes have been copied to death nowadays. My favourite car of all time (not the most expensive or best handling either) is the Honda S2000 I know it's really old but like the miata or MX 5 here in the UK is one of the greats. Fancy a Bev Mate? I totally understand. not everybody will be a fan of the matte colors. I personally think it looks great but I think I'm more impressed technically difficult it is to make a finish like this. it is very hard to make flat paint with metallic flake look good and consistent. the S2000 and the Miata are both drivers cars they have a lot of feel there a lot of fun I've actually had both of those cars on a race track. both great cars that aren't too expensive I love them both. +telephonic they are starting to catch up the new Mustang GT350 is pretty awesome. so is the Camaro ZL1 so they are working on it. but they don't know how to make a good sedan that's for sure.

telephonic I get it you like German cars so do I. I love them they're great cars. but I promise you coming from a guy that's literally driven a thousand different cars the new Mustang and the new Camaro are badass and they're a lot cheaper. but everybody's entitled to their opinion thanks for the comment.

I can certainly tell that the ride appears a bit too stiff for the camera! I bet it would be perfect if you dialed it suspension back just a tad...It is a sports car only with 4 doors!

If only they offered a solid blockout for it instead of the mesh see thru stuff. Had a mini coop with it and it was boiling hot all summer even with the air cranked (ac was underpowered for Arizona anyways).
