If your careful with the application of options they can be quite affordable and they usually have much better colour options than other manufacturers.

My concern about recommending the Mini was that “I’ve heard” that 100% of the automatic transmissions have failed or will fail. The individual (that I was assisting) cannot drive a manual ... sadly. Aside from that I don’t think you could find anyone who doesn’t like the Mini’s unique style. I love them.

Been watching you guys for over a year now, trying to decide what I wanted when I had no boundaries for cross-shopping other than price. I seriously got so close to a Q5, A5 sportback, AllRoad, Stinger GT2, and Stelvio at different points. Then I found this MINI 2 weeks ago and came back here to watch your review. Bought a Countryman S ALL4 with JCW package (unfortunately not the engine; couldn't find one) yesterday! Thanks, guys! Looking forward to continuing to watch all of your videos even though my car search is done. (for now! Haha)

Not fast, nowhere near as many options, (the seats in the Mini are incredible) but as a mini SUV, the Mazda CX3. It's slow, yet fun to drive but my favorite characteristic of the beast, it sounds like a small angry dog when you accelerate. Funny as anything, brings a smile to your face and will save one a big bit of money. I've always thought it was the ideal car for Mazda to turbo, ...sigh. They don't. Sorry, it's been a while since I was commenting and pushing the Mazda.

I have a 2013 Paceman Cooper S ALL4 its a great car but on run flats it is barely tolerable it is bone jarring stiff on Canadian roads (Alberta). I changed them over as they don't last 20K KM. Once i changed the tires the car was much more tolerable. It is a blast in the snow and in the winter but you have to be realistic as to what it is. It has been reliable so far and good gas mileage. When you bump into another mini driver it's always a wave and nod to appreciate that you bought something different than the boring normal....

That’s my next car. Either the countryman jcw or a 4Runner Trd pro. A huge step up from an r53 Cooper s. They aren’t as reliable as the 4Runner for sure, but if you know how to work on your own cars so that’s not as big of an issue. Even though Toyotas are fairly easy to work with, and Minis are a pain the fucking ass, but it’s worth it because Minis are way too fun. I’m getting a manual though. And I’m absolutely not trading in my current mini, because THAT BITCH IS MINE!!

I drove the Cooper S Countryman auto from Toronto to Grenville Quebec and back and also I drove about 20 km off road. Honestly I was not happy about the ride comfort, and my girlfriend would not stop laughing at my calling the Countryman a crossover, she drove an Cadillac SRX at the time. I'm 5'11 and I found the seating position good. I really liked the manual mode was the correct away is down shift and towards yourself is up shift, off road, I really appreciated having this. The collapsing rear head rests are a great addition to a fairly small vehicle. For fuel economy I did get about 7.5l-8l/100km going above the flow of traffic of the 401, and I was getting into the 6.0 l/100km at cruising speeds with the flow of traffic, far better then window sticker numbers. Storage space inside the car was actually quite good for its size and I was fairly impressed. Honestly I did not like how this car drove on the highway, I mean it was punchy when you needed it to be but the steering was a bit heavy and the vibrations got annoying, however i the city and on dirt roads, I started to like it a lot more, it was quite agile and I had a lot of fun driving it. I just wouldn't want to do my commutes in this car (I go between Niagara Falls and Scarborough once a week)
