@@fastbikes I owned a 2006 F4 1000RR for a while. It was indeed a thing of beauty to look at. Unfortunately it was truly horrible to ride... Incredibly uncomfortable and the fuelling was all over the place. I wrote it off in the end, which was probably for the best, as it was only a matter of time before it wrote me off.... I thought that F4 put me off MVs for life, but I've just seen the AMG version of the F800, and I've fallen head over heels in love again. Oh when will I learn! :)

Still the best looking bike on the market by a margin. Panigale's are nice but these things are in a different league. Looking maybe to buy one in the not to distant future. The mods to the 2018 model sound brilliant and should lay to rest the slight shortcomings of the previous models. Please keep us all updated on how you get on with it and maybe do a back to back road and track test against the Panigale 959.

Really love the Mv F3 800. I'm saving up for one while waiting for the dealer in my country bringing in the 2018 model but believe it or not they claim they've got the F3Rc 2018. I dont believe that at all, the wheel of the RC still black whereas the 2018 has the red wheel. Feel really sorry for people who bought it thinking of it as the newest one, plus the price tag here is doubled due to the importing tax.... T T

I really love the look of this bike but when I rode one in 2015 with a view to buying it just didn't feel quite slick enough for me. I was gutted as I felt it should have given more. I spoke to AMG to see if they were going to add some German class before they decided to part company.

87 lbs of torque in the 959? To the wheel!?
@fastbikes

Nm, not lbs - we use Nm as that's what manufacturers starting using years ago, so we're better able to compare claims with rear wheel figures.

125 wheel horsepower? They claimed 140 at the crank.
@fastbikes
@fastbikes 7 жыл бұрын
Euro 3 was 125, this one is Euro4 and 120bhp - but you may get a couple more with more miles on the motor. The usual rule of thumb is a 12% loss twixt crank and wheel, though with conditions etc it can be anywhere between 10-15%. Minus 12% off this and it's 123.3bhp, so not a zillion miles off, about right really.

Question about the blipper downshift. Does the 2018 model comes with automatic downshift blipper? Since the specs already said since 2016 they had autoblipper, but my MY2017 675 hasnt. Do I need to do a ECU reflash, or can It simply be activated in the OEM ECU? I know my F3 675, has an electronic RPM limiter at 8500 rpm and can be disabled at a push of a button. Can the autoblipper be activated aswell? Never been in an ECU software program before.

MV barely made a bike in 2017, this model, and the upgraded 675 were due to come out early last year but they hit the financial skids and all the updated machines were delayed. Yes this has it as stock, as does the 675, could be yours isn't one of the upgraded versions if you bought it in 2017 as they hadn't even made them we think.

Hmm, we've dyno'd a few of them and they all came in around 125bhp on this dyno - however, we did also do a Brutale (same motor) and at first we couldn't get it past 113bhp, coincidentally, until we turned off ABS and fiddled with all the settings, then it jumped up to 125 too. Took some mucking about with buttons!

I agree. I was going 145 mph when I hit the limiter for the first time. The screen doesn’t really indicate the limit like any other bike would. I felt the power cut off and freaked out. I thought I broke it. Lol later I found out the limit was 13,500 like he mentioned

D.C. Not at the rear wheel. Those figures are for 1000 cc bikes not an 800. Dyno figures vary a lot between different makes. A U.S mag dyno tested a standard 2015 F3 800 against a standard 2015 Ducati 899 and the rear wheel figures were 130 hp for the MV and 128 for the 899.

LoLznTroLz it’s very aggressive and agile. I find myself having fun getting out of corners on my previous Gsxr 750 and current F3 800 while twisting the throttle freely while my pal in front was having a struggle with his zx10r. And the MV is having decent torque for relaxed cruising as well. I’m fairly slow with just 2 track days so far but I think this is a very exciting bike to ride and no one going to miss having 1000cc while riding it
@Kevin-vg5uw
@Kevin-vg5uw 5 жыл бұрын
@@YordanHristooov I wasn't saying that I think it's down on power, I think it's fine on power and more importantly it's a great chassis, I have beaten many 1000cc bikes with 2s the power of my old 600cc on track, à 1000 is fun in the right situation otherwise I'm happier on smaller capacity bikes. Next bike after testing if I'm happy will be the ducati v2, i won't buy a bigger bike

We've have one on there with a full Akra' system, but the dude (as far as I know) didn't dyno it stock. I can tell you however, that with that full system and map, it matched the stock peak power of the Tuono at 163bhp. He didn't do it standard though, sorry about that!
@jamsxr
@jamsxr 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. I know the 2015 (with slip-on) was pumping 157 on that dyno. I’ve seen the 2017 reading 162 stock on a different dyno. Taking into account 157 on that dyno for a 2015 bike, 163 is quite disappointing for a 2017 with a full system. Thinking of going full system on mine, but 2k for a few HP doesn’t seem worth it - as you would expect everyone on the forums with the full system claims it transforms the bike, like it was underpowered.... Swapped my Tuono 1100 for the 1290 and I’m not regretting it - slightly less of a track weapon but more capable on the road. Both stunners either way.
@jamsxr

Also, I’m running 97DB with the CAT and slip-on. If I go full system I’m gaining some power but won’t get on most tracks....

Carried out elsewhere by the previous owner. Having had a Daytona 675R, I’d have expected an extra 125cc to make more than a decent euro 2 675R. It’s a shame because not everyone wants a 190bhp monster, I was hoping this had half way between a 600 and a 1000.

Their motors, from a mechanical point of view, are no more or less robust than a lot of Japanese stuff these days really - we've not experienced a mechanical issue on an MV since 2003. Go look on our Facebook page, on vistor posts, and you'll see a thread where someone's new R1's con-rod snapped, and in the replies there's loads of modern Japanese engines which have gone pop, and only one Italian motor in there to have a physical mechanical issue of all the people who responded - point being, it happens to them all, we only find out about it via owners, and with compaines like MV etc now using Japanese electronics they're better on that side of things too. Many of the issues reported on all bikes are first gen' new models - the first S 1000 RRs had motors going pop, Yam's big-bang R1 the same, etc etc, it happens...
