Super Typhoon Mangkhut (Ompong) was one of the most intense tropical storms to ever hit our area along with Super Typhoon Haima (Lawin) from 2016 and it devastated our city. Several gas stations collapsed, dozens of buildings, structures, and historical sites were damaged, lots of homes had missing rooves, trees were uprooted and debris can be seen swung into the air due to the immense winds. Electricity was cut off ranging from a few days and even some reaching for a month in certain areas. Some of my relatives' houses were totally damaged and/or swept away. It was my little brother's 2nd birthday that day (Sept. 15). It was truly a terrifying and traumatizing experience. On the other hand though, Super Typhoon Yutu only did moderate winds and little to no damage in our area. 😌

Anyways just excited aaaaaaa Edit: Well F13's analysis thinks Jelawat was 140mph which makes it just 6 super typhoons which I think is just nonsense. Jelawat was 150mph >:(

Typhoon Mangkhut is one if the most intense typhoons to ever hit hing kong, and the strongest to hit anywhere in the phillipines since Haiyan 2013 and Meranti 2016, strongest to hit hong kong since Ellen 1983, and strongest to hit luzon since Megi 2010.

Storm names used in What-Should-Be universe: Lutung, Sanba, Jelawat, Kertas, Maliksi, Gaemi, Foithong, Maria, Hoian, Ampil, Wukong, Sonamu, Lu-feng, Yagi, Seudav, Bebinca, Rumbia, Soulik, Cimaron, Maewa, Erewan, Hortense, Trami, Kong-rey, Yutu, Mokran, Man-yi, Wario. Storms were named Lutung, Ampil, Hortense, and Wario for the first time after Bolaven, Bopha, Barijat, and Usagi were retired in the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Hoian, Rumbia, Maewa, Erewan, and Trami were retired due to the deaths and damage caused by those storms. They will be replaced with Conho, Pulasan, Osori, Kaphrao, and Banh-mi for future seasons. Don't comment that this is wrong because it is unwanted!!!

The only storm that really affected us is Usman (35W) and because people thought it was just a Tropical Depression, we were really confident it will not cause any significant damage and yet it killed around 50 people and triggered widespread flooding in our region, so Usman got retired

Quite crazy on the PAGASA name Paeng, which all typhoons named Paeng by PAGASA were all Category 5. Cimaron(2006) Nuri(2014) Trami(2018) Except Nalgae which ended the chain of Category 5.
