Deciding between the xp1000 and the Mav DPS max. Not sure how many features would be different on those lower models but i really enjoyed your review. I prefer the look/price/lower doors/refinement of the Can Am but would need the seat raised. Rzr is $2500 more but better visibility from the start, bigger tires, 4” wider, and supposedly better suspension.

17:20 a heads up to people... The cage in the X3 is welded in. It has mounting plates for an after market cage but the existing cage has to be cut out and the mounting plates have to be grinded down to be flat. Once you cut the stock cage out,you really can't sell it because it has been cut. It can be modified and repaired but it will have always been cut. The Polaris cage is a bolt in. Take the old one off and sell it.
@pmutah6 жыл бұрын
When I first got the X3 I thought that I liked the cage better than the bolted cage. but if you want to do an after-market cage it's so simple to take the RZR cage off and put on a new aftermarket cage. so I agree with you the Polaris cage is just easier to work with😎👍
@mckrackin53246 жыл бұрын
The X3 cage is a superior design. No doubt about it. My only real problem is the welded in part. If (God forbid) you wreck it bad enough to bend the cage,an insurance company would call it totaled. That's good and bad. Good because most insurance companies only pay for a total loss. Bad because you'd have to watch a wrecker haul off thousands of dollars worth of after market upgrades to get any help from insurance. Me? I'd cut the cage out and fix it. But that's not an option for many people without the ability to fix it.
@mckrackin53246 жыл бұрын
I just thought it was worth telling people that the cage is welded in. It could make a big difference for some people. Not me...but some. lol

Definitely enjoyed your video on this. It really seemed to be a straightforward unbiased video which I really liked. The wife and I are going to soon be in the market for a side-by-side and it's a little bit of a toss-up between a Can-Am or an RZR. What I would love to do is get some actual seat time in both to see how they best suit myself. Im 5'10" 270, so seating is an issue. I want some wide seats since im a wide dude. Anyway, thanks again man.

@Check4APulse5 жыл бұрын
Hey Brandon, another great video, thank you. Being 6'3", comfort is a big factor for me. I've sat in both machines trying to make an informed decision. The CAN-AM is harder to get in and out of, but the seats feel more comfortable. Being that the Polaris has better visibility and the possibility of less knee bruises, I was hopeful that the seats were as comfortable as the CAN-AM, but to my surprise they weren't. Also, maybe it's me, but I feel like the pedals on the Polaris are skewed too far right instead of more centered to the driver's seat and I feel that even though I drive with one foot, that I would be rotating my torso and hips slightly to the right and this might be problematic on long hauls. Have you noticed this as well? The CAN-AM pedals feel much more centered and comfortable, plus, I can straighten my legs all the way out, unlike in the Polaris. That being said, I'm still confused as to which one to buy :(

I bought a 2017 Polaris XP1000 brand new. 360 miles on it now and has been nothing but problems. I dont beat it like you see people on this site do, I just drive it. Power steering light comes on if there is one puddle, forget about taking it out in the snow, there is no power steering. Other day I hit a puddle (six inches deep MAX) at maybe 25mph. No power steering and than crank sensor, low voltage to throttle and something else came on the screen and than it shuts off and wouldnt restart until the following day. I bought the extended warranty and it's at the dealer now. They said polaris wont pay them to work on it long and figure out what's wrong. I have never been so unhappy with anything off road vehicle before. I've been riding for 30 years and had SEVRAL machines. Any one have any suggestions what the problem could be. I'm at a loss. Oh and it needed a new clutch at 250 miles. The belt cover fell off riding becuse it was never tightened from the factory, water got in there and frooze up the primary. $1100 bucks for a new one from EPI. I wrote polaris and they never answered. Not cool! Great video! Thanks guys!
@nathanharambe55214 жыл бұрын
For can ams and polaris, the best belt brand in my opinion is the gboost worlds best belt. The temperature stays a lot cooler than other belts and it is stronger/doesn't wear as fast.

The x3 also has the worst view in the cab cant see anything in front of you or behind you. Sit so far back that you cant see 10 feet in front of you. If you just want speed get the x3. If you want trail ride and great in corners get a rzr

You touched on it briefly but, to clear it up for anyone who doesn't know about them, besides 2019's, that RC comes with alot more stuff than a comparable one to that RZR. Smaller stuff like the full doors and skid plates, and I think even the seats might be different just for the RC version. The big difference is the smart Lok. It is only on the black and red turbo R, RC and I think the MR. 2019's all have them but the 120hp one, looks like it. I'll be surprised if 2020 doesn't bring a new model. If you're hardcore, you have something to think about, but if you just a basic rider who wants to get out to see the world and smash some trails, you can pick one based on what you think looks better, they're both sick. Keep up the "Ba Ass" vids lol.

Love the vids, I’ve watched them all, but I gotta ask. Any regrets, now that you own the RZR, anything you miss about the CanAm? I’m still on the fence. The shorter wheelbase and upright seating position are really important to me I’m 5’6, but the build quality of the CanAm just seems to be so much better. I’m worried the Polaris will feel more like a glorified quad then a car.

No regrets I love my Turbo S but I also loved the X3. you really can't go wrong just by the one that you like the best. they're both awesome. they both have pros and cons😎👍

Just went to the can-am demo at little Sahara. Such cool machines. Both are awesome machines. Is there dealers locally in Utah you recommend?

Nice comparison. Too bad Honda had their head in the sand on predicting the Sport UTV market. They are playing catch up now with the introduction of the Talon.

Great Review - this was what helped our final decision . Just bought the Turbo S - wondering if they normally throw so much heat - did you experience this? we took it out for a short ride and my foot was melting, felt like there was a heater blowing from under the dash!!

Thanks for watching my video. I can't say I've noticed anything like that. I do a lot of fast riding. but I didn't really notice anything in Moab. hopefully it gets better thanks again😎👍

Have you spent much time in the new XX? I’ve heard different things but so far it seems like a great base idea.
@pmutah6 жыл бұрын
I have never driven the XX it seems like it's a pretty well-built machine. that's probably a little underpowered. the definitely looks like it has some pros and cons. I'd love to take one for a spin and see how it is😎👍

@pmutah4 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's something that's going to break it's just a little spool valve inside the shock Reservoir. I've run mine for 3000 Miles never had an issue

Love them both, but really cant stand the looks of the Polaris cage. I'm moving from VA to CA next year and am looking to get one of these. Do the dealers let you test drive these at all out there? They don't here and, I need more than looking at it to decide what one I like better.
@pmutah6 жыл бұрын
I'm buddies with the Can-Am dealer and the Polaris dealer I'm pretty sure they usually at least have one demo that people can ride😎👍

The dealership I work at will let you drive around in the parking lot which is a way different feel than dirt but still gives you a good idea 👍

Do you own both of these machines still? Picking up a 2018 x3 base 120hp soon. Doesn't have as much hp as either of these, but 3k dollars in rebates makes it affordable for me. Nice video!

I sold my Can-Am X RC I really loved it. but right now all I have is the Turbo S and it is also awesome. you will like 120 horsepower X3 that's still a ton of power😎👍

@@pmutah Right on! Glad to hear that from someone who has had the higher hp one. I have not had a Sxs in ten years, my last one was a 2008 rzr 800 with 50hp so this will probably feel like a rocket lol. Gotta still be happy with the Turbo S im sure 👍

Hey Brandon I am getting a new XRC next week (after a 4 month wait) and we are getting the contract together today and the dealer asked if I wanted the extended warranty. At a price tag of $1500 I was wondering if you thought it was worth it? What kind of problems have you had with your unit? Thanks for the advice and your prompt reply!
@pmutah6 жыл бұрын
John sorry I was out riding the xrc has been wonderful and I have put it through all types of terrain and all types of riding. And it has not skipped a beat I personally don't think you need to warranty but that's just my two cents. thanks Brandon

Do you hunt/shoot out of them? Because I damn near bought an X3 yesterday, and have been kicking myself over walking out on a "only good today price" (scuzzy salesman..whatcha gonna do) but hearing you talk about getting in and out and visibility has me patting my back! Just looking at it, it looks like even a small carbine would be unwieldy in the XRC.
@BadoreksDailys6 жыл бұрын
Bastard Son of Odin for hunting I probably wouldn’t buy either personally. Utility based ones are much better. However if you want one you’re going to primarily have fun in and take hunting as a secondary priority I’d probably lean towards the RZR a little bit personally
