The W6 can work efficiently in .6 cu ft. It’s an incredibly efficient driver. Lots of airspace for them in these trucks. Are you happy with your slime? I find that you can easily have too much airspace with slims. It almost like they HAVE to have back pressure in order not sound like they’re flopping in the wind. Ya know?

Why did you use a tweeter instead of using another 3.5?
@srtbull_yt68544 жыл бұрын
The simple answer is just because that’s what comes with the JL component set that the customer wanted. Typically I would rather do a 3 way set up. Which would allow for 3.5” speaker in that location. But good eye :)
@coreyjackson22412 жыл бұрын
If doing a active 3way set up front on a ram truck what speakers would you use in the rear doors. Regular 6x9 or will 3way 6x9. I was thinking 6x9 with tweeters separately on a crossover but not sure if I wanted to cut into the back door. Or even if it would be worth it. Any advice would be appreciated. Im a newbie at this and trying to get it right the first time.
@srtbull_yt68542 жыл бұрын
Honestly, if it were my own vehicle, I wouldn’t put anything in the back doors. Or just leave the factory speakers there and don’t send them any signal. For great sound quality, building an amazing front stage is way more fun. Save the money you’d spend on rear speakers and put those $$$ into the front.

@hbseth18674 жыл бұрын
Well I should just throw out my home electrostatic ribbon speakers and grab some round ones on that logic...lol Owning this truck myself, I know that they already sound muddy and lack a lot of brightness even after replacing the dash speakers. I have to get a sense of you as a person to be able create something that is reflective of your lifestyle and personality. I have done many builds in this type of vehicle. Where the vehicle stays the same but the system we build is completely different because each and every client is different. To give you an idea, I have done this truck under the $2000 mark. I have also done this truck over $15,000. So you can there is a very large span. Where in the world are you? I wonder if I can connect you with someone physically near you.

So are you located out of Canada?

Quick question, my truck has the alpine system already. Are all of the other upgrades necessary if I want to upgrade my subs? I want to do 2 12’s but don’t want to overpower the factory treb and mid. TIA

Not at all. We can do a much simpler system to upgrade just the subs.

How much space did you allow for each sub???
@srtbull_yt68544 жыл бұрын
0.8 cuft per side, allowing for displacement, probably ended up with about 0.65 per side.

Rob 12 Volt Tricks thx, the limited space in the ram Makes it tricky.

How did it all sound like?
@srtbull_yt68544 жыл бұрын
To be honest, it sounded super clean and crispy. But I wasn’t happy with the low end. Just not enough “blow your hair back” bass when I wanted it. But the client was happy. He got exactly what he asked for.

@@srtbull_yt6854 What would u have done different to get "blow your hair back" bass, I'm doing a setup on my ram TRX kind of like this one, and im a total bass junkie. Also with the seats down, aren't they going to touch the subs? thanks! :-)

First of all, that Trx is sick. My buddy is waiting delivery of his Trx. He’s a bit excited. To answer your question though, I would find someone that is skilled enough to build the same enclosure, but port it, going up behind that back seat. It’s an advanced build but can be done and will gain you the db that you’re looking for.

Thank you for all the kind words. Yes you change your head unit to allow for car play and android auto. We do that all the time. Cheap though? Not exactly. But fair.

Customer wanted to save $30 bucks by not installing the fast rings🤣. If you’re gonna go that far with a custom install, $30 more bucks is nothing to get a better sound.

If I don’t do a good enough job on showing the benefits of them, this is where we land. It happens. I can’t win’em all 😀

Hey Rob. What’s it cost to get an enclose that will fit dual 12w6’s. Also why’s the turn around time?
@srtbull_yt68544 жыл бұрын
Depends on whether it’s needs to be fit for a vehicle or not. Just a regular trunk box can be done in a couple hours. Form fit like the Dodge Ram, can take a full day. Depending on how you want the finished product to look.
@kcflyguyent4 жыл бұрын
Rob 12 Volt Tricks yea I need one for my ram. I’m ok with black carpet or rhino lined for the finish

You should actually show the work👎
@srtbull_yt68542 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to know where to draw the line. If I show all the work, that’s like 20 hours of footage. I’d love to show it. But nobody would watch it.
