2016 Ram Big Horn Crew Cab. NON Amplified stock 6 speaker stereo & I don't have the ANC module under drivers seat. I upgraded to a full JL Audio system. JL RD900/5 amp (75W x 4 + 500W x 1), JL C2-600 6" components front and rear & the JL 10W3v3 Stealth Box. JL 4ga. amp wiring kit, JL 16ga speaker wire & 12ga wire for sub, JL 4ch & 2ch RCA's, Dynamat Sound treatment & a PAC AP4-CH41. Mounted the stealth box per instructions, ran new speaker wires THROUGH door boots (Pain in the ass but doable), ran remote turn on to deck along with RCA's. Ran amp kit thru firewall at the plastic cover next to the cable boot NOT thru the boot at the firewall. Mounted amp under rear passenger seat. Removed trim to access back of radio, unplugged the factory wiring harness and plugged in the CH41 to the radio and connected the factory wiring harness to the CH41. Connected the supplied remote turn on from the CH41 to the remote turn on to the amp. connected front/rear/sub RCA's to the CH41 and NOTHING ELSE. Set the dip switches per instructions and ran 2 "sleep" cycles at 5 mins minimum per instructions. Everything works as it should, however I am now waiting on a JL Twk88 DSP to add so I can fully get the sound I am looking for. IF you are NOT going to run new speaker wires then you will need to splice into the factory wiring per the supplied instructions, same if you are retaining the factory Alpine amp then you will need to use the secondary supplied harness with speaker leads that has the "AMPLIFIED" sticker on it and splice into your factory harness. The way I installed my set up, the dash speakers are NOT being used and when/if I choose to sell my truck I can take out my gear and reinstall the factory 6x9's to the factory quick connects, remove the CH41and do another 2 sleep cycles and the truck is back to factory with ZERO wires cut or spliced. I may do a video on my install (Would be my 1st ever YT upload).

Up to 2021 ram so far with Alpine, HK, or non ext amp you still use CH41. It's simply the beat way to get your preouts without amplifying the chime sound and confusing the canbus network. Also the 2 sleep cycles are only for vehicles with no factory amplifiers when you have to change the one dip switch

I'm not sure if this was already answered, but I only want to power a mono amp for my subwoofer. what switches do I flip on or off on the pac ap4-ch41 so I can use the amp for my subwoofer? also, will powering the amp be as simple as hooking up the power cable to the battery and ground cable to ground, or do I need to buy something else to hook into power?

Maybe you can help, I just installed this in a challenger and seems like I have less bass than when I was using a LOC, I even reconfigure my gain to my subs. Im using the bass knob and its turned all the way up, and was turned up when i set my gains. Any ideas why my bass seems less, Im set at 5 volts

Quick question hopefully you can help me I have the same exact vehicle 2019 ram non-amplified factory unit I just installed the amp pro and amplified all of the door speakers and dash speakers where did you tie into your dash speakers from after the amplifier? I’m getting an awful hissing sound also did you leave the active noise cancellation module in tact because Crutchfield gave me a bypass wire that completely discards the module it just plugs from the big white plug to the small black plug nothing else going into the module this does not seem right

Finally getting around to buying these parts to start my own install in my 2021 2500. I havent had a good system in a car since I had a 2002 eclipse fully done up and with about 100 pounds of sound deadening in it lol. Really excited about this! Do I just 1,cut factory speakers out and splice new speakers/tweeters to the factory harness on all 4 doors. 2, connect the PAC CH41 to my radio and from the pac module run the front and rear rca cables to my amp powering the 4 doors and 1 rca from the pac to my sub amp. 3, just connect the CH03 harness to the ANC under the seat and that’s it?

So last year I did an install on my 2015 ram 1500 crew cab tapping into the stereo wires with a hi low converter it did not work . Can you explain why I have looked over the internet for days and there is not much information. I have a 8.4 uconnect radio I'm about to throw into the street and buy a Tesla style radio . This module you installed cost 350 on Amazon why should I not just replace the radio with a aftermarket?

Also I’m installing new door speakers and using a five channel amp to power 110 inch subwoofer and the door speakers. Is the a ANC bypass module as simple as you showed to install?

if your adding a amp this is the best and easiest piece to use if you use a regular loc you have to add load resistors and that can become a headache. sorry for the late reply

I'm trying to install this AmpPro in my 2020 Ram 1500 non-amplified, I ran the sleep cycles and get a solid red light but doesn't flicker when I turn the knob and I have no sound. On the harness behind the radio there are speaker connectors but one is labeled "for amplified only" and the other doesn't say anything. Well you would run the audio from the pac thru the rca cable to the amp. You amp would have the speaker wires (start), run them to the doors (thru the door harness) to the speakers. All the warnings etc from the factory are still sent out, just not amplified from the factory amplifier. Can't really give you a direction or place to run your speaker wires because it depends on where your amplifier is mounted. So if your amp was under your seat you would run it from under your seat into the doors. But if your amp was in your trunk you would have to run it from your trunk into your door speakers.

The active noise canceling mics are in the car to block road noise if you add a sub and the mics are still connected once you turn the volume down or the car off you will get this very loud and annoying feedback from the subs. So its usually best to unplug your mics but this module allows you to bypass/integrate with the factory system so when you install a new amp it doesn't mess with the anc module and outputs that loud feedback. Its very necessary lol

that is true because when you do the 2 sleep cycles your are flashing the truck to think it has an amplified system so no output comes from the radio anymore which means you will only have bass from your mono block amp if you dont add a 4 ch but i think pac just made a module that is for sub only i will try to get this piece in and do a video on it for you guys who only want sub output

However, I’ve been told with this product that it won’t work with non amplified factory systems for the same reason. It seems that people with these newer Mopar’s really don’t have much of a choice but to get the ap4-ch41 and use a mono and 4 channel to power everything or just a 6 channel or something to power everything.

Over the last week I've taken the interior of the truck out and installed a top to bottom complete new system with sound deadening. Put the amp pro in and everything sounds great. I'm not sure about the 12inch display but as long as your processor provides a load to the speakers you should be ok. The thing about this system is that if it doesn't see a ohm load coming in it doesn't output anything

I have the 2020 Ram with the 8.4 no amp. This is my first system. I was talking to the guy who is going to install my system and asked him if I need the am pro he said no that all I would need is a sound processor. I'm pass the point of confused. And the anc that I bought only has the 2 white connectors and not the black.

Sound Processors are Hard wired in to get access to a pre-amp output signal. YOU HAVE TO SPLICE FACTORY WIRING. Assuming you have the non Alpine system. With the PAC unit it's plug & play. With a Processor, you can tune your system directly from the box or your phone model specific. With the PAC you will tune from the amp. I like the PAC unit!! Simplifies the install drastically.

@@greghinchley6277 my only concern is the wire cutting I don't want to void my warranty. My installer said that he would install the pac but I would have to cut the wires. With the processor he can wire it into the anc bypass and not have to cut the factory wires.

The PAC has the optional "Y" connector for the ANC. When using the Y your O.E. wiring remains virgin.

@@jptheinstallguy I have power at the module. But between the module and the head unit nothing. I can move the harness a certain way and it works. But any little movement and it goes right back off

One of your pins may be loose try to apply pressure on the connector if it comes back on use a zip tie around the connector and module to keep it tight. I dont think its a bad module but it is a possibility. I usually run constant and ground around the module as well most of them come like that and it states that it should be installed like that as well. Try that and let me know. If it is a bad module swap it out

@@jptheinstallguy thanks for the help. I will give that a go tomorrow and see if it is the problem. I don't think it's the module. Because I can hear the door chime and blinkers.

Where did you run the remote wire for the amp

Hooked it up to the remote wire coming off the harness of the module and ran it with the rca's under the carpet

So there’s no need to splice any speaker wire? That’s what the plug and play harness is for to run RCA signal correct?

Alright…. Someone that has done this with a vehicle with no factory amp answer this. I just want to run a 2 channel amp for my subs. Do not want to run an amp to door speakers, etc. How do I get the factory radio to power the factory speakers with this module?

ok so the down side to using this module is that once its programmed the truck thinks its has a factory amp in it so no more output will come from the radio side you will have to use a 4channel amp to power your speakers. i think i ended up using a small alpine power pack amp to power the speakers

I was told you had to cut wires on the speakers to add a amp is that right cause I was told I needed a 5 channel amp so are the highs on the one you installed amped too when you did this or just the subs …??I had it installed at a shop if it was that easy I would of done this myself I could of sworn you had to cut the speaker wired now I am confused as can be. And I have a un amped system as stock. So I guess what I am asking is I don’t need a five channel or I do need a five channel amp man this crap gets confusing. All I wanted was bass the highs where good before I have infinity dash and kicker doors all around so I am lost because if I don’t need a 5 channel I am gonna rip these guys a new one when I go down there. They sold me a 5 channel and it was pricy from infinity and I was told before I did all this to get a SKAR they are decent and don’t break the wallet

so when using this piece to add a sub you have to use a 4 channel amp as well because after the 2 sleep cycles it flashes the radio and makes it think it has a amp in it so there will be no audio output coming from the factory radio anymore so you will have to add a amp for the door speakers if you want to add an amp using this module. now i think they just made another module for just adding a sub so you wouldnt have to add a 4 channel amp which would be perfect for your situation i just dont know if its released yet.

@@jptheinstallguy I will talk to the place today that installed my 5 channel amp cause the highs sound like they are in a hallway and sounds like crap I will let them know I need a 4 channel amp not a 5 channel amp
