So Australia is getting the previous generation RAM?
@samkitto0106 жыл бұрын
The new one will be here shortly. The USA is still manufacturing the old style alongside the new as alot of buyers prefer the traditional styling.

I didn't even know Australia got the hemi? I thought they all only got the special more powerful diesels… Europe got the 2019 model somewhere mid 2018 for pre order but I think they're in most showrooms now and they only have the pentastar V6, hemi V8 or ecodiesel V6 1500's, (new) 2500's require a special license and it's just not worth it to drive one, but can be ordered I believe. but the hemi V8 is by far the most popular one over here in Europe! I freaking love them!!
@yoyoyoyoyoyodbdidbejdbdnd78146 жыл бұрын
Arne Maeschaelck they don’t get special more powerful ones lol we do they get the smaller engine versions of what we have
@arnemaeschaelck50126 жыл бұрын
Yoyoyoyoyoyo Dbdidbejdbdnd I meant compared to the EcoDiesel. I thought they didn't have any diesels with a displacement lower than 6 liters, while we (at least Europe) only have the 3.0 V6 diesel. A regular person can't have a Cummins (except if you have a semi license), only tow truck companies etc do. But then again, I thought Australia didn't get the 1500, really believed the 'smallest' one they got was the 2500.

Boy, Australia is getting the old 2018 just as the much improved 2019 arrives. That's tough.

I like the older model. It looks more like a truck. I think I would get that and not the new one. It's too posh. Too car-like. I like my trucks utilitarian and simple and rugged.

There are multiple interior options on the Ram not just High End features with each model it goes up further in refinement So don't fret there is probably a model you would like.

All good for countries paying what we pay for a litre and getting a gallon. Did they mention fuel consumption
@arnemaeschaelck50126 жыл бұрын
Rob Macey I don't know about Australia, but in Europe there's a €2.500-ish option to get a bifuel system so it can run on either gasoline or autogas, whichever you want (it automatically starts on gasoline until the engine is about 45C (30 - 60 seconds) then switches to autogas and it'll switch back if you run out of autogas (or if you press the button), leaving you with a 95 liter gasoline tank, increasing your range significantly)! Autogas/LPG does contain slightly less energy, so fuel consumption will be 20% higher, but it's like 30€c/l where I live, that's less than USD 2/gallon, even with the lower energy density, so it's even cheaper to run than in the states! You don't notice it at all when it switches to another fuel (except for an audible warning, in case you ran out of autogas), the engine still sounds the same, no power loss at all and autogas burns much cleaner and is better for the environment. You can only get this option with the V8, not the Pentastar, but after like 5.000 km/year (aka everyone), you're already cheaper off + more power and fun!

Sorry but I didn’t get the comparison between this as the premium models in the dual cab market. Perhaps there was confusion around price? As someone who will be in the market for a premium dual cab “soon” this is more likely to be 30-40k more expensive at circa $100k. The cheaper variant, is simple that .... cheap.

If you want one of these in Australia you have to pay not only for the vehicle but also for the conversion from left to right hand drive which is done here. Hence the price jump.
@garryhopkins6 жыл бұрын
Even though it’s a bit off topic, I have to correct your understanding of firearms access in Australia. Of course they are available but you need a police background check and gun licence. I personally have no need of a gun, but I have allowed people to shoot rabbits on my farm. They have had little trouble in pursuing their hobby. Of course military style assault rifles are sensibly off the menu!
@pacheco82456 жыл бұрын
You're talk manufacture's pricing, but what are sales prices and incentives like in Australia and Canada? In the US, I can already buy a 2019 Limited for under US$50,000 and a 2019 Tradesman for under US$30,000. The 2018 is even less than that. Your $100,000 trucks are something I can't quite wrap my head around, even when I adjust for currency.
@garryhopkins6 жыл бұрын
Pacheco I’m in Australia and certainly would not be paying A$80,000 (=US$58,000) for one of these! It’s not surprising that you see so few American trucks here given that they have to be converted to right hand drive after they are imported, which of course adds to the price. They are however a bit more affordable here as incomes in Australia are greater than in the US even after adjusting for currencies.
