Just like the Nissan Cefiro A32. There's actually a Korean version of it named the Renault Samsung SM5. Ain't quick though, VQ20DE. Sucks fuel but the V6 engine is smooth and quiet. Personally we have a cefiro also so that's why I know how it feels.

Great review, I am a bit of a reno fan. I figure touch screens such as that will be banned, they are looking like more of a distraction like mobile phones espicially when you have to take your eyes from the road to navigate through complicated menues.

The bulging lights at the rear makes it look less appealing other than that it's a nice looking SUV. The rear doesn't have to look wider, in fact it's better when it looks slimmer, range rover and Aston Martin is a good example. And the silver bling in the rear lights is not a good design at all.

bobby. which drives better? the Tiguan, CRV or this Koleos? does being a 4wd Koleos makes a lot of different compared to the 2wd Koleos?

It feels more sure footed without feeling 'draggy' as this 4WD is basically 100% FWD all the time until when needed then the power is sent to the rear axles too. The Koleos handles alright but no match to the Tiguan/CX5/3008. It's about the same as the CRV, which handles like a good SUV, Forester also handles well. But the other 3, the Tiguan/CX5/3008 all exhibits sedan-like qualities. I would rank them in the following for handling, 1st - Tiguan, 2nd CX5, 3rd 3008. But the little differences between them can be negated with just a tyre change.

+zaira zakaria speaking of value proposition, few can fight the CRV. But Renault offers door to door pickup service and their after sales is Lexus comparable. Something that a volume brand like Honda cant match. Of course provided you stay in klang valley

Yes. My friend own a lexus. The after sales are good. Even he live in Kuantan. Lexus arrange a pick up to bring his car to KL for service. But if comparing this koleos and CRV in term of ride comfort?

I dont quite understand why you guys have drawn a comparison between this car and the X Trail. A top spec X Trail is around 20k cheaper than a base spec Koleos.....the two cars are in two completely different segments, as far as i can tell

because the X-Trail's boot can fold out two child seats? Other than that, they're identical in chassis, underpinnings, engine, transmission, size, everything except the koleos has better finishing and a prettier face and better suspension and drivetrain tuning.

Granted the two are based off the same platform...like a Golf is the same as an Audi A3 because of their similar underpinnings, but the A3 has been designed and aimed at a very different kind of market, so they both appeal to very different kinds of buyers. Like the A3 and Golf, the X Trail and Koleos appeal to two very different kinds of buyers, therefore they can't be said to be in the same segment. The X Trail competes directly with the CRV, CX5 etc (at approx 150k range), and the Koleos is an alternative to the Toyota Fortuner or can be matched up to a Sorento or Santa Fe (at approx 180k-200k range) In foreign markets, the Renault Kadjar is the direct sister car to the X Trail as it has the same platform and is also setup and garnished to a similar level, hence the two cars have similar pricing. The Koleos was a car designed and engineered to be a slightly more upscale model and therefore sits above the Kadjar in those foreign markets. This is akin to the case of the Golf and the Seat Leon - both are similar in every respect....and the A3 is the posh version of those two

Kevin Prince X-Trail is the direct competitor to the Koleos in most global markets, and Kadjar to Qashqai. In Malaysia, pricing is very different because of local assembly tax considerations.
