Great and objective review. Have had mine for a couple of weeks now and am getting between 36 and 48 hours between charges. The battery definitely needs building up though. I ran mine down to zero for the first 4 or 5 charges and it seems to have helped considerably. Have also had zero issue with the phone connection dropping of or patchy GPS and WiFi that others have reported. Amazing value for money and the Swatch of the Smart Watch world While others have said that it "feels like a toy", that's what a smart watch is to me. It's a bit of fun that will ultimately need replacing and not intended to be an heirloom.

Hi! Can you tell us what we can and can’t do with this watch using an iphone? Are the google apps going to work, like calendar, keep and google maps? Thanks!
@DamienWilde6 жыл бұрын
Hi Nickolas, unfortunately I no longer own an iPhone so can't really help with what it is capable of when connected to an iOS device. I do believe that it can do most - if not all - the same things as when paired with an Android phone, but messaging would pose some problem I would have thought. It may be worth checking direct with Mobvoi or scouring KZbin to see if anyone else has experience with this watch and a iOS powered phone. Sorry for not being able to help further ✌️

I'm currently interested in the watch or the misfit vapor/fossil Q Control, Which one do you reccomend? When It come to the Ticwatch I just have a few concerns: 1. I heard that in sunlight it is impossible to see anything on the display 2. In heard that in the gym the fitness tracking can be absolutely useless, do you know anything about this? 3. If I get up at 6am and go to bed at 10pm with my day (watch wise) consisting of playing some games, fidgeting with the watches settings etc out of boredom, 1 hour at gym and casual messaging will the watch reach bedtime? 4. This question is part of the first one: When in sunlight does the screen keep the nice color accuracy or does it fade? 5. My last question is about durability, considering that this is a 150 dollar watch, how good does it withstand bumps etc? Edit: After actually watching video when I found time some of my questions were answered, but I'm leaving the comment for more opinions. Also thanks for the professional review. The intro was f*cking awesome and this channel is really going places, keep up the good work!
@DamienWilde6 жыл бұрын
Hey Neill, thanks for the kind words! I have a few answers! 1. It depends, here in the UK the sun isn't really out enough to actually test this properly! But the weak direct sunlight here has posed no problems thus far. 2. I only use the fitness app to track reps in the gym, or times of sets - for that reason it's pretty good. Whilst play football it seems pretty accurate - you can use Google Fit or the Ticwatch fitness app and both seem reasonably accurate. 3. In airplane mode, it would last easily, with bluetooth constantly on then it may need a little boost - but it takes little to no time to charge via the included usb cable. 4. Err I'm not too sure - see my point 1 as to why! 5. Yes it's plastic and the silicone band can take a hell of a beating! My black model gets abused when I play football and so far it's handled everything I've had thrown at it. Hopefully, that helps somewhat! 🤙

Had one, don't waste your money unless you don't mind charging it a lot... the battery life is horrible. I had to charge it daily. Needed to plug it in before bed every night. Turn off "GPS" and "Stay On" to get some more battery life out of it but you need to turn the GPS on every time you run if you want to the use tracking features. Also, the gestures don't work as good as other watches. You need to tap or push the button to get the watch face on from the sleep mode. Better options out there for sure.

Thanks. I mainly want to use watch for turn navigation while cycling. If I disabled watch gps, and hooked up to phone gps, would battery last for more than 3 hours of riding?
@DamienWilde6 жыл бұрын
Hi Rowan, whilst I can't comment on the cycling aspect, I do often play football (soccer for our American friends) for an hour every few days, when I remember to wear my watch it lasts just fine. It's reasonably accurate, and when wearing whilst playing I don't have it hooked up to my phone - I am sure it would last for at least 3-4 hours. But, do not take my word for it, it may be worth testing? Then sending back if it doesn't quite meet your expectations. Sorry I wasn't able to help more 🤙

@DamienWilde6 жыл бұрын
To be fair, when the battery is low it can chug along, I should have mentioned this in the vid and explained it - keeping your device close when connected via Bluetooth can also pose some problems (as you'd expect) which when filming I left upstairs plugged into my office PC. At that point of the video I was using Google Fit - which I believe uses the phone app to pull data from previous workouts. Hopefully that clears it up a little, there is the odd slowdown as I mentioned, but for 95% of the time, this is a smooth watch that really impresses at the price poiint.

@DamienWilde6 жыл бұрын
To be fair I had just come back from the gym and I'm severely unfit at the moment! Trust me, it's - sadly - accurate!
@EtienneJeanTheron6 жыл бұрын
I like the review, the editing and style were well done. Usually 50-60 bpm is what you'd expect from professional athletes, not moderately fit or unfit people - I myself average between 70-72bpm. I have already ordered one, but heart rate tracking and battery life seem to be where this watch suffers severely. I just want music during workouts and check notifications occasionally so it'll be fine
@DamienWilde6 жыл бұрын
The average heart rate is anywhere from 60-100 bpm. Most athletes are in the 40s. I'm fairly active, which means I should be around 60, my rest is much lower at round 52 - 55. I thought I had a portion of the video where my heart rate way astronomically high! If you have the watch on your wrist securely, it is pretty accurate, I wear it playing football and the GPS is less accurate, the heart rate is very good.

@DamienWilde6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out, I think the price has increased since I purchased. Sorry for the confusion! Mobvoi regularly offer 20% discount on their official website which should bump the price down to the £125 mark.
@bestonyoutube6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but I want to buy it via Amazon, so I could easily return it. Is it worth the 145? I had a Fossil Q Control the past 3 months, and returned it. Was happy Fossil gave me 100% money back. The watch was unusable. It was always laggy, slow, swipe/scroll often was interpreted as a click, the touch screen had a no function area on the bottom of 5mm, the magnetic charging clip never stuck, and so on. Is this one a better choice? I saw some laggyness too in some parts in your video while swiping/scrolling. How bad is it?
@DamienWilde6 жыл бұрын
Much of the 'lag' is not as a result of the watch and more of my swiping (I wouldn't ordinarily swipe slowly as this to ensure it wasn't blurry for the video and I caught the screen a few times trying to monitor my camera and use the watch at the same time - the magic of editing!) - there is the odd little slowdown if the battery dips into the red or when loading 'big' resource hungry apps. The Fossil Q costs nearly double? Genuinely I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the price/performance and form factor of this watch - plus the safety net of Amazon Prime if you want to return makes it well worth the money IMO - for reference, I paid £126 on January the 15th. It's great for sports too, I use it 3 times per week and find it comfortable when running around a football pitch. I do try and keep it in Aeroplane mode when at work as this extends the battery tremendously - as I say in the vid - you could get about 2 days (I have on more than a few occasions). Charging is very quick though so it's easy enough to get some juice should you need it. Hope that helps.
