Best Tournament course of the year! Thrills, danger and excitement. DeLa is as much a star as these players. Thanks, Jomez.

Sometimes watching disc golf the pros make it look like a walk in the woods and you don’t realize how much work they put into it and how good they are. DeLa shows you why they are pros and how hard work pays off. The course is insanely technical and demanding. Great coverage like always and enjoyable commentating.

Watched some Stanley Cup and MLB tonight, and this was much more enjoyable. Nate and Jeremy give expert info far above any other sport I've watched. They realize the only people who watch have a decent understanding of the game, and don't dumb it down like most sports coverage. Plus, there is no corporate line to toe. They have fun with it. Just fun to watch.
@EdibleCastleWill6 жыл бұрын
I think generally I agree... but it's not just experienced players who are watching. I've only played a few rounds myself but love watching it on youtube. Struggle with some of the lingo, but I'm getting there. My gf often watches alongside me and in particular gets annoyed with the commentators mainly using players first names- she doesn't know who they're talking about. I know they all play/know each other and are genuinely friends, but it comes across cliquey and a bit exclusive to new-comers.
@vjacksstacks51506 жыл бұрын
And ... the dumbing down begins.
@EdibleCastleWill6 жыл бұрын
I suppose I see it more like.. production-wise, the attention to detail over the commentary doesn't quiiite match the standard of the rest of the coverage. But yeh thinking more about it- I'd really hate it to be like traditional US sports coverage from a larger tv network- which is cheesy af and they all sound the same. Like they've all attended the same school for commentary or something. I just meant, a little nugget here n there for newcomers might not go amiss from time to time. And some other basics.. like not coughing into the mic.

Can someone explain the 2 meter rule?
@brycehatton71664 жыл бұрын
It's a dumb Cali thing where if you get unlucky and your disc gets stuck 2meters(6ish ft) above the ground you take a stroke. It's literally just a penalty for not being lucky 2 ppl can throw into the tree one makes it out one doesn't and it's a one stroke swing
@porch29426 жыл бұрын

@TheScarletTomato16 жыл бұрын
In California they play a rule where if your disc ends up 2m or higher off of the ground in a tree, then the player has to take a penalty stroke and play from under where the disc ended up in the tree.

TV does not do justice to the Kitchen hole. Top of the World finishing hole is beyond fun. Drive from God's Country to SC just for that hole...as much as possible play only that hole...over and over and over. Wow...what a course. And behind the holes? Worse than death is catching an edge and it's c'ya! 100 ft down a 45 degree cliff. There is a reason DeLaveaga has hosted the World Championship.

Awesome video as always! that aside...I can't get into this star par thing. My understanding is that Star frame is from bowling which represents that everyone in that frame got a strike. Star = strike/under par, Frame = the column(frame/hole). So everyone getting birdies on one hole would be a Star Frame in Disc Golf. Everyone getting pars would be a Par Frame not a star par. A star par would mean "under par par". help me out here.
@heikki-pekkahonkasaari74466 жыл бұрын
It's not so serious. They called it "star par" only because that hole is so difficult and when everyone got par it was something special.
@Roughnalph6 жыл бұрын
It's a star par when it's a hard par.
@scottlewis55216 жыл бұрын
then use par frame. Star par makes zero sense in any context. It's missing one of the two elements from the original phrase.
@Roughnalph6 жыл бұрын
It's just words man. It's just words...
@kunphushion6 жыл бұрын
You can also use stars on a score card to represent that everyone shot the same thing. So you would mark 2 - * - * - * to represent star bird. and 3 - * - * - * for par.
@Fresh_Goo6 жыл бұрын
Poor Paul. 2 meter rule is kinda bull. Where I'm from TDs never use it. Seems like a bad call to implement it this course. This course is famous for it's grabby trees and elevation, and to me that is just more reason not use that rule. It just adds more luck and RNG to the round.
