LOL Nate made me laugh so hard at the "some sort of anime" comment

I love that the drone footage is slower and doesn't have breaks in it. I don't need to hurry watching disc golf. And I understand that the cameras need to get to the next spot quickly, but I'll take any extra footage of them getting set up for a shot, walking down the fairway talking, or walking to the next tee pad. It definitely doesn't need cut out to make the entire video shorter.

For those of you who don't know, "Philo" means to Love and "Brathwaite" means Disc Golf...probably.
@joshuaalfassa73066 жыл бұрын
SP02 so far as I can find brathwaite is from two Norse words, one meaning broad and the other meaning clearing. Despite the Nordic root words, it's English in origin. If I think about a great day on the course, broad clearing seems like a decent enough translation lol
@mwoolner6 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure Brathwaite means "Roc".

I love to hear and see some of the stats given out in the videos. Having Nate and Jerm commentate is cool and all but the stats and stuff give it more of a legitimacy of being a sport. You hear it with other sports all the time, and I really like hearing and knowing that 5% of players made a birdie in hole 1. Good stuff.

I love how they show the distance on a putt even if its not going in. At first I thought it was only for big putts that were going in and I always felt like if they are showing the distance then its going in but to know they chained out or came close from 57 feet makes it really cool too.

Would love to hear JERM and NATE's thoughts on playing at dela while on tour? They both were frequently saying that the shots take a little bit of luck to end up where you want them; is a little bit of luck something you want on a majority of holes in a competition? Maybe the luck was over exasperated in the commentary, but I'm taking them at their word and with how often I heard the word "luck" in association with a good shot, I began to wonder if this is a course that should be played at for points/ money. Thoughts?
@jarretsmith20436 жыл бұрын
Joshua Freeman anytime you play in heavily wooded holes there’s a degree of luck involved. Just part of the game.
@FlacomanXD6 жыл бұрын
Jarret Smith This is true, but does not address the conversation I'm posing. Courses such as these are in no doubt fun, but having a pro tour at such a course- well that's the topic Mr. Smith. Take the kitchen hole (the most extreme example), if you're boiling to skill to luck ratio to essentially 50/50 (and with the 2 meter rule in play when you have to plinko), isn't that a little ridiculous? The pro tour is about finding who is on top, and if (that much) luck is a factor when we're putting people's skills to battle, is this really the right course? I do not think a course should not be challenging, but I don't think luck should ever play as much as a role as it does on some holes I am seeing. This is why I welcomed input from the people who are in the pro tour playing these holes. But, Mr Smith, you may be one of those people as I am not familiar with the entire playing field.

What does everyone think about the Val Jenkins DQ? She was DQd because her caddy was caught with a bottle of alcohol during the round. Fair or not fair? I think only the caddy should’ve gotten the boot, seems a little over the top for me.

They mentioned an ace on hole 3 or 4. But failed to mention the ace on hole 8 by Kyle Crabtree during round 1. Didn’t hear it in the first round video either. It’s a shame, he’s a phenomenal disc golfer who can compete with all of the top pros.
@bigjermdg6 жыл бұрын
Scott Kight I missed that! Thanks for the reminder. Seeing as we play a different course during the final round it's probably too late for the shout out. Crabtree (or Lobsterbush as we affectionately call him from time to time) truly is a phenomenal golfer!
