Very impressive. Just a suggestion though: If the Corp of Cadets are going to have an old style cavalry unit, they might dust off those old cavalry manuals. The cavalry salute was completely different. It was a high raised hand instead of finger tips to the brim salute.

They’re actually more significant than that. “Senior Boots” are hand crafted and custom made for each individual cadet. They are made by Holick’s, a local company that was founded by the first Aggie bandmaster Joseph Holick in 1891. Depending on the materials used, each pair can cost around $1000 and up. Most cadets place their order as freshmen to have them ready for their senior year. It’s a century old tradition.

They do not have a military obligation since most of them pay for their own education. Very few have ROTC scholarships. 2019 graduation class only commissioned 206 cadets to the military.
