And if you find out what kind of car they have or what they like it is some loser brand that has a low rating and subpar reliability.😂

We just bought a 2018 Camry LE in Starfire Blue and we absolutely love it! We love the styling on the LE front fascia much more so than on the SE. We also drove the SE and didn't like the ride in it when compared to the LE. The ride of the LE feels much more comfortable over harsh Ohio pavement.

dude what a lackluster review. Come one guys! I know the Camry has always been a boring appliance, but you guys have to admit that this car is a huge step forward compared to the previous generations. Everyone has been raving how its actually fun to drive now, although not a sports car now. Its loaded with tech. It rides well. Its materials have improved. The grill is big but still toned down and doesn't look out of place on the no se/xse cars. The Camry has truly jumped to the top of the pack. Yes it does everything well, but the way you guys talk about it you guys make it seem like yeah it does well, so what?

Just purchased a 2019 XLE in Ruby Flare Pearl. Beautiful car, plenty of power with the 4-cylinder engine, and now equipped with Apple CarPlay. The roofline is lower and it’s a tight fit for taller drivers even without the moonroof. I wish a manual transmission was an option.

Why does he keep trying to compare this to an SUV? If I'm looking at a review for a sedan I expect it to be compared to other sedans. Poor review...very critical throughout the video then in the end says its a vast improvement on previous models.

Fair point. He does spend too much time comparing this '18 Camry to SUV's. Lets see more comments on say an Accord or even a Sonanta/Kia Optima for instance. With that said, much of Takahashi 's analysis on this sedan was spot on.

It is an improvement in some areas over 12-17, but in others it's not. I got the impression this guy never once sat in a 12-17, and if he had, he doesn't remember it. In particular starting with the 2012 model the interior was a just a huge upgrade over the 2011. There are some things that came standard on the 2012-14.5 se that are not available on the 2018 or 19 se for that matter unless you go to more pricey xle/xse. In addition I also think material quality was higher for sure in 2012-14.5 vs 2015..I know for a fact that beginning with the 15 so called refresh that some interior materials were not close as good as 12-14.5 and although 18-19 have far more safety features and many new enhancements, I can visibly see some material shortcuts as compared to 12-14.5.. Overall 2018-19 car is a huge improvement over 2015-17, and it has huge tech advantage to 2012-17, but I personally still prefer classier and less radical looks of 2012-14.5 SE (only) to all Camry models they've built since. Despite that, I definitely would still buy 2018-19 Camry in a heartbeat

Mark, nice review. I was glad to see you mention the challenges/limitations of the "infotainment" system. It is being billed as a big advancement with the new Entune 3.0 versus the previous Entune 2. You were the first I've seen criticize the Navigation system via the App. Toyota wants you to think this is some new innovative and cutting edge system. It is NOT. Apart from the Scout GPS App for Nav, it's not much different. The Scout GPS Navigation system is problematic, to say the least. In fact, I would say it is CRAP. I had a 2015 Camry XLE V6 with integrated Navigation and I honestly had no idea how this new system would work. Like most people, I assumed it would be similar to the previous Nav and user friendly. IT IS NOT ! It's a pain in the bucket to put it mildly. I MAY have found something to make it work somewhat more easily now, but I'll have to verify this over time. I put the "Scout GPS" App on the split Home screen and it seems to open more easily this way. Previously, it almost drove me mad. I had to open both Apps, Entune 3.0 and Scout GPS after I plug in the phone. Btw, plugging in the phone is the ONLY way you can get it to work. The two apps didn't seem to want to sync with each other, but that may be improve now. I'm crossing my fingers. Again, if you are used to onboard/integrated Navigation, this is very disappointing. I firmly believe that Toyota wanted to go cheap and figured they could claim they were offering Navigation, but unforunately, it is with a CHEAP and buggy App system. Oh, and NONE of this was explained by the dealer, Heiser Toyota, Milwaukee. The salesman was unbelievable bad and very impatient. He didn't explain the Navigation at all and several other things. I'll never buy a vehicle from them again. Thanks again for mentioning this and I'm sure Toyota will, eventually, be called out for the cheap and difficult Entune 3.0/ Navigation. It's a shame because the vehicle is fine otherwise. I bought a 2018 Camry XLE V6. A week after I purchased, they started this "Black Friday Sale" which included $ 750 cash back for the Camry I bought. They( Heiser Toyota) laughed at me when I protested this situation. One week later, I could have saved $ 750 bucks. I am still outraged by it. I think they had at least some idea this Cash Back program was starting soon. Disgusting ! Btw, the 2018 Camry trunk is roomy, but is actually smaller than previous. I had a 15.4 cu ft trunk in my 2015 and new ones are 15.1. Contrast this to something like the 2018 Honda Accord which INCREASED trunk space from 15.6 to 16.7. Wow !

This is a great review. Very clear with no tacky affects.Coming from someone that has worked in TV as a videographer for 30 years, I felt the visual coverage of this was A+. Great camera shots both inside and out. Whenever a detail is mentioned, there is a shot of it which is missing in 90% of these reviews. I agree 100% that the nose on the new Camry is to say the least ugly as hell. This is a Toyota thing and it is also on every Lexus out there. I am not sure whey they feel that putting a cow catcher on the front of their vehicles is a good thing. If they think they are making it sporty by doing this, they have failed. The Camry has always and will always be a draw to the older generation so there is no reason to pretend this is a sports car. I like the new look of the Camry but like everything else they make, there is always one thing that they make a mistake on and for the Camry, it's the front grill. It's to bad because they seen to have everything else right.

Well said Bob. if you were listening guys carefully, Takahashi was never saying the '18 Camry is a terrible car. Or has gone way downhill. Just as you said, Bob 90%-plus of the part of this now classic global brand, is still very good or excellent. However it's not the most sexy looking mid size car in the market anymore. Plus the minor issue of noise as well. Just as the battle to win the consumer battle for the family sedan is more intense than ever, there are also other options out there.

I test drove the 2018 LE and it is very quiet inside. However, the engine when revving up is very loud, much louder than the Accord. Maybe it has to do with the transmission? With 203 HP, it surprisingly is underpowered on local streets, I had to press the gas peddle down quite hard for it to jump up to the next gear. However, when you take it up on the freeway, it drives beautifully, gear changes are smooth and cabin is quiet.

Looking for input here regarding connectivity. I'm going to be purchasing a vehicle in the next two weeks and I will be using it to commute an hour or so each way to work. I was considering a Civic but the verdict is out as to whether or not I can get my hands on an EX trim, hatchback and the Honda Sensing. I took a Camry LE out on a test drive and I was really impressed with the comfortable ride on the highway, great interior, and similar MPG numbers to the Civic. But I'm concerned that I'm going to regret NOT getting Apple Carplay. Is Entune ok, or is Carplay so good that it'd be worth writing the Camry off as a contender?

As someone who had a 2006 Camry, they still good cars. This Host/Commentator Takahashi probably not the biggest Camry fan. However Takahashi is correct that one of the weakest part of the Camry in recent is the bland radio/media system. I just switched recently switched to a 2018 Kia Optima for the main reason, that midsize sedan has almost all of the same features as a Camry but cheaper. Try at least several thousand cheaper. Plus Kia has the apple system in it's media system standard. Another reason I got the Kia, is that how highly praised in last couple of years, has the Kia brand analysts/commentators and others in the auto industry as a whole. Still might have gotten a Camry if it was not so damn expensive. Nothing wrong with Camry except maybe it's not the same buzz with the public since its basically that very good reliable family mid size car that people take for granted. I say the mid size/family sedan is more intense than ever with several good cars on the market for consumers to choose from i.e Hyundai Sonata, Mazda 6, Kia Optima, Honda Accord and this classic Camry brand just to start.

I don't get the issue with the lack of built in nav...but in days of old lower end cars didn't even have nav at all and people relied on their mobile phones anyway (aka cell phones)...I really think that this really isn't an issue. Bit of nit picking really because at the end of the day, having it integrated into the dash is better than a phone held in place by a holder on the wind shield. Plus you will always have updated maps that may be free. Built in systems are not. Plus, there is qi wireless charging, multiple usb ports and the phone would be bluetoothed to the car anyway for call reasons and stuff. I really don't understand why this is an issue really.

your complaint about not being able to get a true nav is pretty frivolous. Google maps and a few others are far superior to any built in systems. literally hook up your phone via bluetooth and have it playing audio (Pandora, itunes, aplpe music, etc) and the directions will automatically play when they come up. any car with bluetooth has this capability. as Apple and Android vehicle systems become more robust, built in navigation systems will become even more useless than they are now.

Disagree. Built in systems are fully integrated so you don't have to hassle with using your phone at all, draining its battery and all. Plus, Google maps can and does often crash - try dealing with that when maneuvering through heavy traffic.

One complaint I have is on that last bit from him is that people who want an SUV are generally going to be comparing SUVs with SUVs. It's like telling us "when you stack [orange juice] up with [raspberry juice] it's an 'uphill battle'. How is that relevant? I get that he's not totally wrong, Toyota is probably seeking to get some SUV buyers in, but in other areas I just don't think this guy is in touch with what Toyota is going for, plus I think he's too much in an 'old timer' frame of mind. His age just so obvious based on some of his comments. Also at 9:00, he completely missed the idea behind placing the seat release in the trunk. I find that typically when people have things that require the rear seats to be folded, it's usually a long box or something of that nature. The idea is that you can release the seats in the trunk and then use the item to push the seats down, rather than have to make the extra back and forth movement between the trunk and rear doors to push the seats down. We also often forget. You're in the trunk putting the item in when "oops, I forgot to pull the lever for the seats." I will say he is fair in saying that the seats don't go totally flat, I can sorta agree on that.

Crap review VERY boring and dull personality/energy coming from this guy. XSE Sport model Camry is the sexist car in its class. PLEASE review the 301hp XSE. I do agree I dont like the front bumper on this model the XSE model is a BEST looking sedan in its class. Not sure why Toyota made that bottom grill so large and long. Also that black interior looks really upscale and luxurious.

I believe the reviewer is quite wrong in saying that on board navigation is available only on the 6 cylinder Camry. The Toyota web site certainly indicates that it is available on the 4, just as it has always been, at least with the upper end models. Of course, it would be ridiculous to force buyers to go to a 6 cylinder car (which almost no one wants, especially given the premium price) in order to get on board navigation. I agree that the front end is a mess, on both the L and S versions. I also agree that Toyota is making a mistake in preventing owners from using Android and Apple auto functions. This will drive some buyers to the new Accord and other competitors, and one wonders why Toyota would be so backward. Finally, for those interested in the Camry hybrid, Toyota has unaccountably installed its heavy, old-tech and outmoded, nickel battery pack in all but the base model, which unnecessarily harms efficiency and longevity for the upper end models. I have asked Toyota why they did this, and received no answer, but this fact too will cause sophisticated hybrid buyers to look at the Accord.

Sorry, dynamic navigation is only available in the V6 trim. Scout GPS is available in the lower trims (everything beside the V6). With the Scout navigation, you need to download an app to your cell phone and run the navigation through your phone, which could deplete the phone battery and rack up data. Also the Scout app is only free for the first 3 years, after which you have to pay a subscription....Id take a standalone navigation any time over using my cell phone, but that's just me.

Sounds to me like all the reviews are to knock Camry for the great work they did on a car that selling more than al the others that are getting awesome reviews. It puzzles me. It’s almost like Apple. It’s the best but people can’t admit it so they find faults instead of saying the good about it. Why is the class leading Best car that ever made is struggling to move units even though it is cheaper than the Camry? Honda Accord. Someone please tell me why that is because it’s puzzling. I honestly don’t see the need to compare the Camry with anything in its class because it’s a notch above all of them.

This guy is not a good reviewer and speaks his mind too much which is not practical.. The lower part of the front end is a success and it is being carried on even in the 2021 Highlander xse.. many other cars as well as the Corolla have the similar lower grill and it's wide shape. The SE Camry is more controversial and will not age as good.. The XLE grill is more conservative and clean looking.

chrisdblue It is still NAV regardless what this guy says. A navigation system is a GPS-based electronic system in a vehicle or mobile device that provides a real-time map of the current location as well as step-by-step directions to a requested destination. Now, the Scout GPS Link app for the new Entune 3.0 interface has moving maps, turn-by-turn directions and traffic updates in real time, and a lot better NAV functions the the current version of the app. It still works like a traditional navigation system, and I personally think this is a bold move for Toyota to compete against Apple CarPlay and Android Auto's Google Maps, since Toyota actually doesn't like this whole idea. It is understandable to see why.

Scout GPS Link - go read reviews - rank it 1 ½ stars. If you try to use your cell phone to enter info because it is so hard to on infotainment center touchscreen, it does not recognize. Horribly slow, in MANY cases it doesn’t work AT ALL because every carrier has dead spots. If you purchase a 2018 Camry with just one USB plug then you must use that plug to plug in the Scout GPS Link app on your cell phone for you to have moving maps. If you want restaurants, other POI, and gas prices then all that adds EVEN MORE data to your data usage. The bottom line is that despite the fact that you can run Scout GPS Link on your cell phone if the carrier has a dead cell where you go, Scout GPS Link quits working, locks-up, and freezes completely. It’s simply awful. I downloaded it and it was 70 mb. Other apps such as Apple iPhone CarPlay and Android Auto and Google Maps all have their PROBLEMS too. CarPlay is a total joke and does not even operate on any 2018 Camry. Android Auto which is Google Maps also does not work on any 2018 Camry. Android Auto uses 2 GB data a week just driving to and from work so if you like me also have to drive to customer sites you can use up 6 GB T-Mobile “unlimited” plan in a week. This is due to pop-up and related apps which are subordinate to but accessible through Android Auto. It does a lot but it eats data. Don’t be fooled it does not. If you use Google Maps to go 5 miles and send two outgoing texts and receive 5 data usage from Android Auto is 238MB which is 10 GB for a month based only on that short usage of the app. Just because you CAN run an app does not mean you should. Traffic should always be provided by HD radio not a cell phone app. Weather too. Pandora. Podcast Addict. Tuneln. Streaming. KZbin. Spotify. These are just some of the 50 apps that work with Android Auto and why folks love Android Auto. Just get ready for slow unworkable NAV as carrier cuts back your speed. Driving 5 miles using ONLY Maps and two incoming/outgoing texts it used 370mb. You do NOT need data on a cell phone to have fully functional navigation which I can do without the cell phone turned on with my Camry embedded NAV on both my 2013 Camry XLE Hybrid and my 2016 XLE 4 cylinder. Android Auto does not have speed limit which a $29 Garmin has and that is a big deal. It is also a big deal that the Android Auto uses up all my data usage each month. I have it and I plug it into my Camry and it uses more battery as well than it recharges. And it looks like a 6 year old kid did the graphics on Android Auto. Obviously Google does not consider an app on your cell phone as viable long term to replace a dedicated onboard processor of a manufacturer embedded integrated with all its features like head up display navigation. Camry updates with DCM data communication module so NAV is always up-to-date on 2018 Camry with the DCM for embedded NAV. But even if CarPlay or Android Auto worked on a 2018 Camry, the problems are still so devastating that you would NEVER run either anyway because the interface to the graphic displays in the 2018 Camry would be limited to just only the stupid infotainment head unit screen way over by the passenger where it is a distraction for the driver to even try to look at - a display which is either 7 inches or can be upgraded to 8 inches on the 2018 Camry. And think again if you think can mount your cell phone in front of the driver and use that because if you try the 2018 Camry will NOT RECOGNIZE the entry. Further the ten inch head up display portion of the Driver’s Assist Package for $1675 which also includes the Bird’s Eye View panoramic camera system for backing-up and for while you are driving views does NOT INTEGRATE with Scout GPS Link at all. In between the odometer and tachometer on your dashboard also where the driver can actually see it while driving, there is a third display which is either 7 inches or 4.2 inches which ALSO does NOT INTEGRATE with the Scout GPS Link at all. NO you can NOT change the head unit once you buy one with the one you WISH you had bought. They tell you it is FREE but you are STUCK with it on a forty thousand dollar 2018 Camry making it a $40000 decision then, isn’t it? When I am driving 55 mph and am LOST the last I expect is that Scout GPS Link would be SLOW or NOT WORK AT ALL. You can program the 2018 Camry to show you on the head up display an elapsed timer gadget, the name of the next street coming-up at the next intersection and the speed limit on every street in the U.S., Canada and Mexico - but ONLY if you buy the embedded Navigation called Entune Premium - otherwise described as the dynamic integrated NAV which costs $940 option but is ONLY available if you buy a 6 cylinder gas engine on ANY 2018 Camry. Those owners make-up 5 percent of all Camry owners - five percent of all Camry are 6 cylinder but ONLY they can even add the $940 real NAV. Let me start with the basic premise that at some time in the life of the 2018 Camry that the owner will be LOST and that then Entune 3.0 would have to deliver. Why NOT say in PLAIN ENGLISH Toyota that if you don’t want 301 horsepower and only 32 mpg and want 41 mpg highway or 53 mpg highway that you CAN NOT SPECIAL ORDER even your $940 Entune Premium embedded dynamic integrated NAV which works wherever you are and is updated automatically. Apple CarPlay is not really useful for navigation. CarPlay doesn't support Google Maps and Apple Maps is really not up to the standard: hard to use, slow response and misinformation. I have CarPlay and have used CarPlay but it is a total JOKE. Android Auto allows use of Google Maps but unfortunately it uses a ton of data doing all the features of Google Maps. Listen to the latest advertisement by Verizon. “If you've already used 22GB on a particular line during your current billing cycle and you're on a cell site that is congested at that moment your download may be temporarily queued behind other Verizon Wireless customers which may result in slightly slower download speeds.” Scout GPS Link. I have downloaded it and seen it lock-up on me. I have had it just sit there too and do nothing. In addition every single time I have used it, it is slow. A car in 2018 without a viable NAV is so denuded as to end selling the car to me. The Scout GPS Link is a total abomination of a NAV which is NOT AT ALL LIKE HAVING the embedded 2018 Camry integrated dynamic NAV at $940 now is it Toyota ? In fact Toyota even updates your map when you get within 4 miles of an area through a device Toyota calls DCM which comes on their Entune Premium which is their embedded dynamic Navigation. The Scout GPS Link app should not be run on a cell phone unless you are planning on walking or airfare or public transit or all the above. Why ? Because if you are just driving there your cell phone is laboring doing a job that uses up cell data and requires data coverage or it shuts down. Got it ? There are other security reasons such as being hacked why you would not to run an app on your 99 dollar cell phone that contains where you are and when you will be there along with when you left. The 2018 Camry Brochure states on the inside of the back cover underneath the 43 disclosures that : “Toyota strives to build vehicles which match customer interest. If you prefer a vehicle with different options check for current availability or the possibility of placing a special order.” But you can’t special order Camry. You should rename your 2018 Camry Navigation System Owner’s Manual (OM06125U) as the “6 cylinder 2018 Camry option only manual.” A quarter of a million U.S. vehicles every month, 20 million worldwide annually, and a quarter of a trillion U.S. dollars revenue by 358 thousand employees and you pull this Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. ? This is Toyota’s dirty little secret about all its 2018 Camry Hybrids and about all its 2018 Camry 4 cylinders which combined make up 95 % of all Camry sales. You are far better to use onboard embedded NAV in your car and the app when you are not in your Camry. They certainly compromise security since now you are making available your rate of speed on a cell phone easily looked at by interested parties. Interlocked apps with these type programs for NAV can also give away where you are and your estimated arrival at other known destinations as well. You have loaded apps to your cell phones and found you ran out of room. Autotrader states : “Turbo engines often fail during the life of each such car.” So why would Honda manufacture such an idiotic line-up of Accords 2018 that all are Turbos ? Then there is Toyota with their Camry and NO VIABLE navigation except their embedded NAV which is quite good 2018 and they are so stupid as to only offer that on just their 6 cylinders with this option yet only 5 % of all Camry buyers are 6 cylinder. This means that no 4 cylinder 2018 Camry and no 2018 Camry Hybrid can order Entune Premium which is their embedded dynamic navigation with complete integration with their head up display. You need to know this if you consider 2018 Accord or 2018 Camry - don’t you ? Let me know ok ?

The Honda Accord unfortunately beats the Camry , and that's coming from a current Camry owner. Toyota still doesn't have Apple Carplay or Android Auto, no fog lights, mediocre cabin noise, no sunglass holder, ugly front end on lower trims, a lot less space than the Accord in the back seats, interior not as good as Accord. It has a great engine, better interior, good MPG, a good look on the XSE model, and is on the right path though. Again don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE a 2018 Camry, but if I had to choose I'd go with Honda for now.

What's the big deal about Apple CarPlay and Android Auto when you could always pair your music through Bluetooth? Google Maps is the only thing worth it for ACP/AA. And what is the big deal about fog lights when you get standard strong LED headlights, highbeams and lowbeams? Also, the Camry has always been one of the quietest midsize sedans, so it is a no-brainer for 2018. I bet the 2018 Accord will be a little louder. I think the front end (even on the non-sport trims) look distinctive, but style is subjective anyway. Although it has less space than the Accord, it still has plenty of room no matter what. Also, the new Accord's interior looks bland and uninteresting, even compared to this Camry.

FarhantheMovieGuy It's not a big deal, but they are selling points that other people can care about. The Camry isn't that quiet at 72 decibels and Accord is 70 decibels. A 1 dB change in a sound equates to about a 26% difference in sound energy (remember that a 3 dB difference is a doubling of energy levels). Like the rest of the commenters here are saying , the non-sport trims look ugly, bland, and boring.

What kind of review is that ? 2018 Accord has no 360 degree camera a feature I searched on ALL cars 2018 and find they ALL have it except Honda. I can not bring myself to buy a new car and NOT HAVE 360 degree camera. I have a car now without it and want it. Turbo engines - lets talk about that ok ? 2018 Accord owner’s manual says this Turbo engine is 1292 degrees Fahrenheit AND one hundred thousand RPM. When you try to speed up with Turbo there is a Turbo lag so compared to Camry 2018 for example it takes MORE time to speed up in 2018 Accord. Brakes compared to 2018 Camry for example at 60 mph stop 13 feet farther down the road on the 2018 Accord because the disc brakes are only 11 and a half inches compared to 12 inches on other cars. Looks of the 2018 Accord are ugly front grille and ugly out-of-place not designed as a part of the dashboard pop-up tablet pc display. Again I would say that 2018 Camry is an especially pretty dashboard by comparison and I love the Lamborghini front grille on the XSE 2018 Camry model. But you can not buy a 4 cylinder nor a Hybrid 2018 Camry with a proper NAV like you can a 6 cylinder ONLY. And this keeps me from buying then either car 2018. Apps on your cell phone tie-up the phone wear out the battery while plugged-in all the time to the USB port and require the data connection to your cell phone carrier is up and working or they quit working seize-up and freeze. Apps on your cell phone ALSO do not integrate with the display between your speedometer and tachometer nor integrate with the head up display - just the infotainment center display way over by the passenger. This is dangerous distracting and why you should insist on embedded NAV which both Accord and Camry have a good one of I have used and liked on both. Therefore that Accord has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is of no use to anyone trying to use THOSE for NAV. But Scout GPS Link is as sorry a NAV as Apple CarPlay - both are totally unusable as a NAV. 2018 Camry has 8 speed automatic while 2018 Accord is ONLY CVT except one very specific model. Do you know what CVT is ? Buy one. You will NEVER buy another. It is just to give better gas mileage at the expense of removing a proper transmission everyone likes the feel of and CVT just sits there and lags. So 2018 Accord lags transmission and lags Turbo. What can you do Accord 2018 ? You can buy the 2.0 Turbo Touring and there you finally get the ONLY automatic transmission but it has no gear shift knob but a button to press. It is funny looking with no gear shift knob. Cheap looking. Honda Accord small gas tank -too small to be useful. For years now my 14 Toyota Camry mostly XLE up until now all 4 cylinder or hybrid have had the road noise problem of the Accord fixed totally. There is a sticky substance in the wheel wells I frankly hate cleaning. I take a hose with hard pressure on the water and put it in there to break free pine straw and other debris stuck to the sticky substance. But it knocks down the road noise so Camry does NOT suffer from that as 2018 Accord does yet again. 2.0 Turbo Touring 2018 Accord is one not out yet 20 November 2017 and two gets only 22 mpg highways which is just plain AWFUL gas mileage. Who is going to buy an UGLY 2018 Honda Accord ugly dash ugly grille with 1292 degree Fahrenheit Turbo turning one hundred thousand RPM for forty grand with no gear shift knob and no 360 degree camera that ONLY gets 22 mpg highways in 2018 ? Tell me that ? I read the owner’s manual and test drove both 2018 Camry 2018 Accord. I will NOT buy EITHER one. Did you hear me say why ?

I’m not buying 2018 Accord because NO MODEL has bird’s eye view camera system. Also ALL 2018 Accords are all ONLY unreliable gas guzzling Turbo. I’m not buying 2018 Camry because NO 4 cylinder nor 2018 Camry Hybrid can have a reliable NAV when Toyota has one and refuses to let me special order it even on either ANY 4 cylinder 2018 Camry nor on ANY 2018 Camry Hybrid. Do as you like personally but I am DONE with 2018 model year and will WAIT. Toyota 2018 Camry has OPTION package $910 called Entune Premium Audio but you can ONLY buy this on 2018 Camry 6 cylinder - NOT on ANY 4 cylinder 2018 Camry and NOT on ANY Hybrid 2018 Camry. Scout GPS Link 36 month TRIAL ONLY then you must pay monthly currently $5 month - this is an UNRELIABLE NAV because in order for Scout GPS Link to work on 2018 Camry you must use full-time the 1 USB plug you get - you can OPTION buy ADDITIONAL USB plugs - which provides you then Scout GPS Link moving maps but those maps can NOT be downloaded therefore you MUST have and KEEP your data connection from your cell phone carrier. Keeping your cell phone connected to the USB plug fulltime ruins the battery causing you to buy another battery at $ 40. If you drive through a data dead zone from your cellular carrier and all carriers have data dead zones then you DROP Scout GPS Link app and must pull over - STOP - reenter the destination AGAIN. Due to the high pressure on Scout GPS Link customer service Scout GPS Link has beefed-up its replies to Toyota Camry owners and other select Toyota owners to offset a SERIES of LIES by Toyota Sales reps about Scout GPS Link. Scout GPS Link customer service will quickly answer your questions and CONFIRM every word of this about Scout GPS Link. Note if you will that a $25 grand Toyota 2018 Corolla can be purchased with embedded NAV on that 4 cylinder engine for $ 525 but there is NO PRICE for embedded NAV on ANY 4 cylinder 2018 Camry nor 2018 Camry Hybrid. That is just plain stupid Toyota. Note that Honda has the 1.5 Turbo Touring Accord 2018 which has the head up display and the embedded NAV integrated with that head up display and that those are all only 4 cylinders Honda sells any longer now 2018 on its Accords. (But 2018 Accord has NO panoramic bird’s eye view camera system to see your 2018 Accord in tight places on ANY model 2018 Accord - quite the OVERSIGHT by Honda as well.) Over the life of the 2018 Camry this Scout GPS Link is NOT ONLY NOT FREE but costs MORE than the embedded dynamic fully integrated navigation which Toyota has so painstakingly over the years improved to one of the industry’s best. This ALL NEW 2018 Toyota embedded NAV even includes now that the maps are automatically updated within 4 miles of any location in Canada U.S. and Mexico through what Toyota calls their DCM data connection module. In the past Toyota charges $ 130 for map updates ordered through parts departments although the software itself was updatable by you the Camry owner either by warranty up to 36 months or 36 thousand miles whichever came first or by you as the owner yourself. I updated the software for 2016 XLE 4 cylinder from Toyota Technical Support Bulletin T-SB-0019-16 free over the Internet I downloaded to a USB memory stick, but map updates are $ 130 from parts department ONLY which is a SD card you put into the head unit. So this is a VERY FANCY NAV version Toyota has developed for the 2018 Camry for $910. Only 5 percent of all Camry owners choose in fact the 6 cylinder. Why would we ? 2018 it gets 301 horsepower and uses 32 mpg highways while the standard 4 cylinder from Toyota on the 2018 Camry provides 203 horsepower using only 41 mpg base model on the highways while the 2018 Camry XSE provides 206 horsepower using only 39 mpg highways. This adds up to five thousand dollars MORE for gas for the 6 cylinder over the 4 cylinder 2018 Camry just to have a reliable NAV since on some of my 14 Camry I have gone nearly a quarter of a million miles and still in fact own a 2004 Camry XLE November 2017 I bought new in October of 2003 with no issues. I point this out because Honda offers ONLY Turbo engines and only 4 cylinder 2018 Accord while Autotrader states that Turbo engines fail during their life and that they cost a lot of money to repair. THESE ISSUES denude the 2018 Camry and the 2018 Accord to the point where I would NOT buy EITHER. Be AWARE. Scout GPS Link is costing you a LOT more than the $ 910 for the embedded NAV. Also Entune Premium Audio lets me upgrade from 4.2 inch to 7 inch display on the dashboard between the speedometer and tachometer the Navigation system and upgrades the center mounted display from 7 inch to 8 inches and both those displays show the speed limit signs for example and lets me see the name of the next street at the next intersection. You also are integrated with all that with the head up display on the 2018 Camry if you option that. Try READING the owner's manual I have. You can NOT do ANY of this on the Scout GPS Link. If Toyota Scout GPS Link was the same as Entune Premium Audio which is a $ 910 OPTION on the 2018 Camry then Toyota would NOT charge $ 910 for Entune Premium Integrated Dynamic Navigation. Scout GPS Link works NOTHING AT ALL LIKE the integrated NAV you would get with the Entune premium audio system. In addition I must keep my cell phone tied up with this STUPID app Scout GPS Link and I must keep my phone plugged into the USB plug for maps to work at all. This ruins the battery on the cell phone and costs me $ 40 for a new battery. I have had integrated NAV from Toyota since my 2009 XLE Camry Hybrid and on my 2016 XLE 4 cylinder but 2018 I can not update either to this latest version which updates the maps via the DCM on the 2018 Camry Entune Premium when I get within 4 miles of the location. Data usage is heavy burden with Scout GPS Link. You have NO IDEA how much data a user gets per month NOR the amount of data their carrier allows on so-called unlimited plans BEFORE their carrier THROTTLES their service. How much data does the user use ? How much data does this user use with Scout GPS Link ? As you know if your cell phone data is throttled Scout GPS Link quits working and LOCKS-UP freezing the app. Every carrier has data dead zones. EVERY SINGLE Toyota employee has AGREED with me that it is WRONG for Toyota Motor Sales to NOT ALLOW any special order even of Entune Premium Audio UNLESS I buy only a 6 cylinder 2018 Camry. Try studying the reviews listening to 2018 Camry owners or contacting Scout GPS Link customer service all of which I have ALREADY DONE as ALL OF US are nonplussed by Scout GPS Link EXACTLY as I state as fact. THERE IS SO MUCH DATA to transfer for moving maps that you must use the USB plug so data used by Scout GPS Link is heavy and recall that if you lose data connection anywhere on your trip you lose ALL the data from Scout GPS Link which then freezes-up and quits working altogether. This is an unreliable Scout GPS Link app which is NOT FREE and which you will NEVER BE HAPPY WITH. How can you buy a $40 thousand dollar car and NOT RESEARCH the navigation to where you know what you get or do not even research the car you can buy to know that it does not even have a bird’s eye view camera system like every other car on the market does ? Front grille Accord is ugly and pop-up tablet pc infotainment display is afterthought ugly. 10-speed automatic transmission is only available on 2.0 Turbo Touring which may NEVER come out while the CVT continuous variable transmission no one wants anything to do with. 1292 degrees Fahrenheit and 100 thousand RPM Turbo - that will NEVER work Honda. CVT makes all owners gun shy and the Turbo caps that off as not wanted at ANY price. Only 2 parts to the dashboard the analog speedometer and the 2nd part is a digital tachometer which you can not even use because you have NO OTHER info available to you. No panoramic sunroof on ANY Accord 2018. No 360 degree parking camera called bird’s eye view on ANY 2018 Accord is a huge rip-off for a 40 thousand dollar sedan. Why not Honda ? What’s the deal ?

yes, but some cars cost much less money to maintain (ever tried replacing parts on a Mercedes or BMW out of warranty?) and will spend less days in the shop. It's terrible to have a new car (especially if you're making payments on your new car) and having to rent a car because your new car is in the shop and waiting for a part to come in to fix it.
