The best truck out there and a major plus is its resell price. No other truck holds its value like Toyota for that reason it was a no brainer to buy this truck. Love it so far

Joz Rish dude for the price it was dead even with nissian and Colorado. But this has way better technology and safety, a 5ft bed, and it comes with the best bed liner you can get because it's pure factory. Seriously this was probably the best deal I could get. I got the Sr 4 door. I'm not big on tech when it comes to keyless, power seats, and blah blah. Man it's a truck and it's base model is a hell of alot better then my old 2006 ford escape. And that was top of the line back then

i have been a toyota tacoma owner since the early 1990's until 2016. Because lock of improvement, luxury and confort. (i may buy a toyota tacoma 4x4 double cab trd sport or off road). If toyota engineers stop been lazy and make continous improvement on this TRD tacomas sport and off road 4x4 double cabs: (with luxury inside the cab: Better JBL infotaiment, good amplifiers/speakers, very comfortable leather seats, good navigation system, Fully box frame to be able to haul 2000 pounds of payload on the bed and 5 1/2 foot bed for the double cab TRD SPORT / TRD OFF ROAD and NO moon roof (moon roof is so stupid to have in a truck. If I wan to look at the universe I just go outside, and no toneau cover). that is why i bought a F 150 Lariat in 2016 because it has all that luxury, comfortable leather seats, fully box frame, 5 1/2 foot bed crew cab good infotaiment and no stupid moon roof. I was able to order it the way I wanted....!

More things to break. Although, disc brakes would be nice but its no problem for me as I have driven a 1999 tahoe with rear drum brakes and it just takes getting used to. And this is a pickup not a lexus.

My 2018 Camry has 4 wheel disc brakes as well as the drivers side seat isn't manual,drum brakes may never change,manual steering might be next lol.

I could NEVER do a black interior, those things really heat up in the sun. Would have to do hickory. Also, my requirements in addition would be running boards of somesort and a tow hitch with wiring. But definitely my favorite pickup! Do wish that it had power seats but maybe when I am looking at a new one it will. Not something that would deter me from buying one.

Highlighted. The transmission constantly shifts while trying to maintain highway speeds. Low speed shifts are vague with a dead space between shifts. A recent TSB was suppose to fix this but it had no effect on my truck. I’m very disappointed with the drivability of this truck. We have a 2016 Highlander with the same engine that is absolutely perfect.

I see the bottom part of the back seats fold up, but to the back part of the seats fold down also? As in to make a flat surface? If so, is that standard on all trim levels? I really need that for my dog.

Yes, the seatbacks do fold down. The strap can be seen at 18:57 in the video. I'm not sure if this is standard on all trim levels or not, but I'd assume it comes on all crew cab models at least. Thanks for watching!

Randy Jackson Hey say all you want. I own the 2018 TRD Sport because I had to get rid of my 2016 Colorado (it was falling apart). My last Tacoma drove to over 300k without any major issues. I think Toyota knows what they are doing considering Tacoma is the most reliable vehicle in the US and around the world. I know my manual seats will never break, can't say the same for something with a motor when it's not needed and just lazy. I can adjust my seats faster and more efficiently without power seats and they will last forever. I'd rather this. OH and as a side note edit, I get over 20mpg no matter what 25 on Highway you're either lying or you're a hater. I OWN THE TRUCK. I think I know. Your friend is a lead foot or you're just lying.

I think the Honda Ridgeline is a better vehicle in general. Not a better off road vehicle but a better daily driver. I do really like the Tacoma but as I found out very recently, I don't actually fit in it. I hopped in the Honda Ridgeline and it felt almost as roomy as my Ram 1500. The Honda also has a better ride quality and better fuel economy.

Test drove it, and I found it has the torque of a wristwatch down low. you have to rev the piss out of it to get any power. I'm also coming from an XTerra Pro4x with the legendary VQ40DE, which has a torque curve flatter than the prairies. Maybe the auto in the Tacoma, and my Rex being a 6MT had something to do with it, but a coworker just bought a new Tacoma, and he says the same thing. Just feels weak AF.

Victor Creed it'll outlast that Nissan engine anyday. Tacoma owners want reliability, not a fast truck or I'd buy a v8 pickup. All I know is the Nissan Pathfinder my Dad owns (2004 off road) has been through an engine and a transmission under 160k... That's just laughable. Not to mention my buddy bought a brand new Altima in 2012 and no exaggerating he is on his 3rd transmission now and wants rod of that car! I'm not racing people in my Tacoma, but I Know I'll outlast them, and that is what matters most to me when I'm in the middle of nowhere in my vehicle. I'll never trust anything but a Wrangler or Tacoma for deep trails and overnighting. Thanks though

Chris Taylor 1. Yes you absolutely do want torque down low in a truck engine. Especially if you're towing/off roading. 2. The VQ40DE is a very good engine. Reliable, big power/torque, albeit thirsty, but I could care less. You don't buy a truck for fuel economy. Which is the reason Toyota developed this Atkinson 3.5, because the old 4.0 had much better power delivery but got "meh" fuel economy, from what Toyota people tell me. 3. We can all come up with anecdotal stories of good/bad examples of a make. My buddy had a 2005 XTerra that he sold to his brother with 220,000kms on it. He's still driving it to this day with over 310,000. Nothing but oil changes. 4. Wrangler? Reliable??? lol ok.

I am almost sixty years old, so I remember when a truck was for hard, work and play use. These new "trucks" are for women. They are more like SUVs. They are too big and bulky, four doors (SUV), and little useless five foot beds all bling and flash. I had a 1987 Toyota pickup no model name just pickup, but it got stolen year and a half ago, so I found a 2002 Tacoma 2WD, auto, AC, cruise, TRD, two door and a traditional six foot bed. I consider my truck full comfort, but compared to these new beasts my truck is horse and buggy. I like that, in fact, in true truck guy style, I have an AC, but in even the hottest Summer days I never use the AC just put the windows down, unless I have my dogs or a whinny passenger.

ryvr madduck 2018 Tacoma. Same here. Windows down when it's hot. It's not about your points I also owned a 2001 Tacoma Sr5 4x4 3.6l and that truck was amazing not needing a simple serious repair until over 300k. I saved a ton of money up and traded my older Taco in for the 2018 TRD Sport that I is almost paid off and it's an amazing truck. I have modern tech but the simplicity and common sense of my older Tacoma. I understand where you are coming from, but for an old timer that cares about value, this is the place to stay. Take care

Haha, I'm a woman thinking of trading in my RAV4 for a Tacoma. I just want something a little higher & I kinda miss the truck feel. I've driven trucks before... Dodge Ram & Ford Ranger in college & grad school. My dad has driven trucks most of life, most of them bigger. He has a Tacoma now & loves it. My brother is the one that has to have a bigger full size truck, lol. But he thinks this one is the perfect size for me. I didn't understand the 4 door cabs for a while. But aside from using my Dodge to haul stuff in & out of dorms, I don't have much use for hauling stuff these days.
