2018 Volkswagen Passat GT Review | A Value V6!

Volkswagen says this 2018 Passat GT is an "American born sports sedan." We'll take a look at everything and go for a test drive to find out. Overall, the Passat GT with the V6 is relatively fast for a midsize sedan, although it's handling is not as sporty as the acceleration suggests. It has a nice sounding exhaust, unique exterior details, and a bit more attitude in general compared to the other Passat trims. I'll briefly cover features on other 2018 VW Passats like the SEL Premium.

I couldn't less what anybody says. I bought this car in Platinum gray and I've received 100's of compliments about the looks of this car. Ranging from being very handsome, gorgeous, sleek, beautiful, etc. I love this car and the price is unbelievable. The drive is wonderful and has more than enough power. I only need to get the windows tinted and the looks can compete with several much more expensive cars that cost twice as much. This car is bad ass!!

i have this car. for 25k its a good deal. I love the way it drives. its not perfect but its really good. it sounds really good, and its stylish. im a big dude and its a little low in headroom. I had an issue with the AC but its pretty sweet ride for the price. really fast in sport mode too

I had been waiting for a performance Passat for a couple of years to replace my 2010 Passat Komfort with 200 HP 2.0 turbo and DSG with a new one with at least 200 HP and a DSG. I was in no hurry since I had a pristine 2010 with very low mileage. I saw the GT model on VW's web site, read its specs, and decided to visit a dealer to see one. It took only a short test drive to seal the deal. No regrets. Especially since the model disappeared after less than a full model year. Love the car. It's a true Gran Tourismo in the classic sense - a comfortable touring car with some strong performance characteristics. I could drive it on a several thousand mile trip enjoyably without boredom. A good balance between comfort, simplicity, and performance. In my opinion, better than the SEL with the same engine/transmission pair.

It’s year 2020 now so this good review is old. I own a 2008 Passat Komfort, I’m happy with it, it’s not the most reliable but it does runs good with the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbo engine. I wouldn’t drive a car with less power. I’m in the market for a used Passat GT because you can’t get a V6 option in the new ones now!

Nice review...Love your videos! I think this car HAD a LOT of POTENTIAL. VW totally missed the mark by omitting such crucial safety tech, especially in a $30K+ sedan. Also, for the lackluster fuel economy, I’d expect that compromise to come with significantly increased performance...also not the case. Maybe do a comparison review of the regular 2.0T Passat?!

I don't know until when VW is going to remodel its interior, don't wanna flame but this is so out-dated looking interior, but it does look easy to use so that's a plus.

It's due to the frame rate of the camera vs the pulse rate of the LED. Same as if you video a computer screen.

Totally! The right word is MODERN. Your version seriously needs a refreshed look. It's been like 6-7 years since the model receives only a small facelift here and there but nothing different in general. The EU version is so much aggressive and mean looking, especially with the LEDs. I really hope you receive it soon as well but I guess the market is totally different in your country and higher percent of people are pleased with what the current version is and has. Honestly, I dont even like the leather seats as well... Check out the fabric Ergo Comfort Seats... they are so much better for both winter and summer times. Cheers and keep up the great work! +1 sub

You can always modify to add the “more”. How can you say overpriced? It’s basically a bargain midsize sedan with a proper VR6 motor. This is the same motor from the 2016 Porsche Cayenne base model...
