The beautiful thing is the 6 year, 72,000 mile warranty which is transferable to the second own.

excellent review! I own a 2018 Passat and you have brought a few things to my attention! Good straight forward review and not a sales pitch. Thanks Grant.

I think the simplistic exterior design looks very good. Toyota, for example, is going way over the top with all the crazy curves and whatnot. This is the very first time I ever even considered a VW and for the money you get so much with this Passat. Pretty good mileage, the 2.0T engine is very adequate for all driving situations, has plenty of great tech both in and out, loads of interior/trunk room (I'm 6"2 and w/ my driver seat as far back as I wanted still had about 6 inches knee room in the rear seat behind me. I am buying an 2018 SE w/ technology tomorrow for under $25k. To get all this in a Camry or Accord new it would cost substantially more. As far as the clock going I had one in my Infiniti G35X and didn't particularly like it anyways.

there is beauty in brevity. Information overload, however great note about storing ones phone.

Can't believe they took out the center dash clock. What they did looks like an after thought and yet they still have the clock in the European models. You would think VW would do more for the interior for the 2018

So I’m thinking of buying a 2018 used Passat and the fact that there’s no clock is annoying me like no tomorrow

I love the Passat but buy a used one if you’re in the market. The Passat loses almost 50% of value in depreciation within the first 3 years which tops the charts. That sucks for the first owner but it means the second owner will get a huge bang for their buck. The Passat changes very little from year to year, so you’re not missing much if you buy a used one versus a new one.

how is the reliability.
@trufan73586 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey Furtado I think the Passat has a questionable past with reliability especially versus a Japanese car but to me it's also a better car for driver enthusiasts because of its German engineering. So, maybe the tuning difference leads to more of a wear & tear quotient than a Honda or Toyota.

Thank you Kevin. I see that you have passion in your review of the VW Passat. I still need reliability because of long commutes and I tend to keep cars for many years so I tend to buy Japanese cars such as the Toyota Camry etc. However, I like the way the Passat Looks and who knows in the future I may choose a VW or another brand.

Thanks for the in depth video. Is that a fake keyhole on the steering column, is it functional?

Abdiassis Ahmed , my key fob battery died on my 15 passat. I figured I would pop off that cover. Well, only wires behind it. The door locks do have a removable cover.

Really upset with 2018 Passat. The rest of the VW lineup is getting some great tech & luxury upgrades...and the Passat gets nothing. The new Jetta in its top package has a digital dash, a touch huge HD screen, ventilated front seats, interior mood lighting and a few other gimmicks.... The Passat... None of that.

S G 2019 brings a redesigned Passat. VW is cutting costs on the current Passat until the new one comes out.
