Great vid, well explained. I feel though that the windscreen is more for looks than wind protection.

Thanks Hugo! Glad you enjoyed and that this type of video proved useful for you. I'm curious what kind of bikes you'd like to see us do similar work on in the future?

Nice piece. You need to remove the rear foot pegs and brackets to finish off the look and tidy up the rear.

Well-done video. But this is not "customization". I feel it's basically a Yamaha commercial.
@RidersDomain6 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. There's no doubt that making a motorcycle with upgrade potential, then supplying bolt-on parts for a range of those upgrades, makes financial sense for the manufacturers. The thing I appreciated in this case and wanted to show in a vid is the fact that even a laughably sub-par mechanic like myself can get through a few upgrade projects without much headache. I take your criticism though, there's no escaping the fact that it's a Yamaha bike with all Yamaha parts, so can definitely come across as a commercial. We'll be doing more stuff like this in the future and will be sourcing more aftermarket parts when possible. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Ahem. Yours is a very measured and thoughtful response to my borderline snarky comment. Respect! Looking forward to more videos.

Is the single seat set up only for use with the storage systems? Is there a way to have the single seat installed without all the storage and still have a completed look?

I wish that same radiator guard was made for the xsr900!!! It looks awesome! Also, same video but for xsr900 please :)

Do you happen to have the dimensions of the saddle bags ? I can’t find the specs anywhere online
@benjamincs15 жыл бұрын
I don't think I'd make any if these changes. The panniers are tiny, and surely you can just tie things to the back seat anyway? Radiator cover is a maybe, but the screen is pointless. Change the headlight instead. But yeah, it's an example and goes to show the need for customisation - we all think differently, so it's hard for one bike to meet all our needs.
@manny755863 жыл бұрын
I hate the headlight, but the flyscreen kinda looks cool and masks how ugly the headlight it. A lot cheaper than getting a new bucket too. I like it.

@kmsti86775 жыл бұрын
HOLY HELL!!!!! $138 for that radiator cover and it doesn't even come with the side covers which is another $111. I'm okay with the $29 ebay black one THAT COMES WITH THE SIDE COVER.
@neil2wheels8766 жыл бұрын
The Yamaha rear rack apparently is only rated at something like less than 5kg carrying capacity. For luggage Givi, SW Motech, Kriega have far better luggage options. The Yam stuff looks nice but it’s SOOO expensive for what you actually get

I'll second that! That headlight is nasty looking! Yamaha would probably sell more bikes if they came with the wind creen to cover that headlight!

Are the saddle bags made out of water proof or water resistant material?
@RidersDomain6 жыл бұрын
They'll be water resistant for sure. The closures aren't watertight though, so you run the risk of water getting in that way. Would probably be a good idea to stuff things you want to keep protected in some kind of dry bag just in case.
@1990-t1j6 жыл бұрын
Legend side bags from www.sw-motech.com are waterproof, very durable, look way better than these and are a lot cheaper.

The saddlebags dont remove the rear seat, the luggage rack does. It looks like you could keep the full seat with the saddlebags.

I'm gonna turn a wrench. This makes me a customizer. Yamaha's like "Hey guys here are some extra parts for extra cash and you pay the labor costs too."
@salsamancer4 жыл бұрын
Isn't that what most mods are anyways? I doubt many people who buy aftermarket parts are cutting and bending their own brackets. It's all bolt on stuff

Why is there so much slow-mo? I mean, I think everyone has seen a bolt being unscrewed in real life... Stop doing shit like that just to get to the 10 minute mark... Even with 1.25 speed its really boring to look at.
