I'm also 6'2". This was my second bike, after a year and a half of not riding since I was overseas. I absolutely love this motorcycle. The ONLY complaint I have is the wind at 80+ mph; however, some days I dont notice the wind at all. Just be smooth and careful with the throttle and you can't go wrong. My coworker was NOT careful with the throttle (he got an XSR after me) and flew off the bike on his first week of riding.

@@Hawthorne2 thanks for the info. My friend got an fz-07 for his first bike last year and he's slowly easing into the bike as well. I have the same issues when shopping for motorcycles. Being a taller rider. However, I recently purchased the mt09 and it's pretty comfortable for me. I even did ALOT of mods to my r3 and have that one comfortable enough now where I can ride it all day and not cramp up. So if there's ever a bike you really like but feel you don't fit it very well, trust me, you can modify it to make it fit better. We'll just just NEVER be one of those riders that have to worry about not being able to put our feet down lol. That's NEVER going to be our problem. 😉

I’m 6’4” and I found it slightly difficult for me to rest my foots comfortably on the foot pegs of my 08 car 1000. I wear a size 14 or 15 depending the shoe so I’m wondering about the doors positioning and changing gears. How is it?

Hey thanks for the comment. Shoe size may be rough for you. I have a size 13 shoe and size 14 Dainese boot and it's tight on that bike. If I were to have owned this bike (was borrowing from a friend) I for sure would have installed rear sets. Best bet would be to suit up and test ride one to see how it feels yourself. I also highly recommended looking into a supermoto. This video I made may helo you on that too kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKbKmmiAq5xpr9U Supermotos are better for us taller riders.

Once you hit around 65-70, the wind gets a little rough, but with time in the seat, I've found that I've gotten used to it. Just make sure you have a nice aerodynamic helmet and you'll be fine. New to motorcycles and a little older (53). This is an extremely attractive bike but may I ask how the lack of a windscreen affects the ride quality? if I were to purchase such a bike, I would anticipate 1-2 hour pleasure rides on country backroads near my home . Thanks.
@nickvandervegt
@nickvandervegt 5 жыл бұрын
Hi! The lack of a windscreen for the XSR700 is quite nice but may come down to preference. After roughly 30 minutes on the freeway of speeds 65mph+ it can get quite draining due to wind. However, the lack of a windscreen makes it much more raw and for some reason makes street riding more enjoyable. A test ride on the freeway and backroads will answer your question a bit better.
