After taking the Triumph Thruxton 900 for a ride, I sat on the Yamaha XSR700 and could not believe how light it felt! I just HAD to take it for a ride. Is this a good beginner bike? Watch and see my first impressions on this motorcycle!
Welcome to my channel! I'm a mother of six and beginner motorcycle rider. The purpose of this channel is to document my journey learning to safely ride a motorcycle. I'll bring you a first hand perspective of what it's like learning to ride - all the fears, challenges, close calls, and exciting milestones! And because my husband is constantly trying out different bikes, I'll also do test rides, reviews, and share my opinions on all the bikes he brings through the garage.

If you want to stick to triumph maybe a 2016+ street twin, but you have to ride it yourself. You will only ride a bike if it's comfortable, only way to tell is if you ride it.

Learn on the bike that makes it easiest for you. Like maybe even a Honda rebel or something. You can worry about style and cool later. I know nobody wants to ride a nerd bike, but if it helps you learn quicker it’s worth it. You’re going to have many bikes over the years. Your learner bike will a very short term one then you can move up to that awesome Triumph with a lot more confidence and it will make you see the Triumph as a fun bike and not an intimidating one. Great channel btw! Going to be teaching someone how to ride in the spring and it’s really nice to see and hear from the perspective of a new rider. Riding for 40 years I forgot how much I don’t even realize I’m doing and how intimidating it can be. Thanks! You’re doing great!

I tend to agree that it’s not a beginner bike, but it’s not a beginner bike for everyone. For those who have good throttle control, it’s actually a really nice ride. My current and first bike is one of these angry bikes 😂 but it’s a really good bike if you’re honest with yourself that you’ll be able to handle the torque because it’s got a little spice to it! Everything else was spot on though, it’s light which is great for various reasons, if you like the style it’s got a lot of customization to it, and it’s a Yamaha. Easy to maintain

"Its an Angry Bike" , may I use that quote? Great stuff... I love my Yamaha but also love Triumphs. You just cant loose. I have always said this, "The best bike one can have is the paid off one living in ones garage" .. That is just me but then again you talking to a guy with a Yamaha SCR 950 and Royal Enfield Himalayan both purchased at bargain bin prices. I lean frugal, what can I say. Go with the one your most comfortable with that is my advice. Rubber Side Down..

I think I've watched every xsr 700 vid out there. Time for me to get one. While Im thinking of it, we should dress Dom up like an old man with make up and let him rip on this bike again. What a sexist click bait. I bought an FZ07 and bought another one for my wife one as well. She's had no problems on it and loves her bike. My son jumped on hers (first time on a bike) and rode it like he had ridden before.

If you watch some of my other videos (and even my latest one with the XSR), you'll see that a common theme is that there is no such thing as a "girl bike" and that women can ride whatever they want! I love this bike! Love to hear that your wife rides!! We need more female riders for sure!

If you are gonna have “filler music” for when you aren’t talking.... don’t make it louder than you when you’re talking..... And get some boots.

Jackie, if I sub, can you hook me up so I can get an XSR700? I'm ready to sell my '76 hardtail CB550F and get something a little more modern.

If you want to "learn to safely ride a motorcycle" (as your description says) why you wear literally no Ride Gear or protections except the Helmet? Ride gear is even more important tan the motorcycle you are going to ride. Makes no sense at all for me.

If you watch some of my recent videos you'll see that I got a jacket and gloves 😊. Took some time to go try stuff on and pick out the right gear for me. Since it's so expensive, I wanted to make sure I did some research before I bought it all. Thank you for your concern!
