I think this review is spot on! I don't have the Quadrifoglio, just the regular TI, but I can attest that this car is fun to drive. I was all set on getting a Volvo (for safety reasons) or Mercedes, but driving this SUV just changed my mind. The Mercedes definitely feels more luxurious, but only at much more expensive trims. And without a doubt, the Stelvio puts a smile on my face. If you haven't driven an Alfa, you should try it out. Like everything Italian, it has a soul that no German, English or Swedish vehicle can match. Funny that, like Alex advises, I balance my Stelvio with a more reasonable Acura MDX for family needs.

Having owned a Lexus, I’d say it is not error free like a Lexus.....minor buzzing sound here or curious feature there, much as you’d expect from any European brand. But other than those ( which I can live with) no issues so far.

I run the Chevy Volt (no controllable exhaust note to speak of), and annoying coal rollers like to make obscene amounts of noise driving by our house (much to my fury), but the exhaust sound of this car (and Alex's enthusiasm) were pretty contagious. I guess that kind of stuff can still tickle me when done well.

Not a very "detuned" engine compared to the 3.9l Ferrari engine. Hp/lt for the Alfa V6 is 175.8 ps/lt when the Ferrari V8 gives 171.8 ps/lt. Interestingly, Pista's engine has 184.6 ps/lt, so if Alfa decides to make a faster QV could it have around 540ps?

I believe The exhaust system is like the Giulia Quad to where in dynamic mode, the active exhaust opens up(Making it louder) when over 3000rpm.

Excellent review! This sums it it up pretty well. I have a Stelvio 280hp Misano blue, and am so happy with that car. The balance and handling is fenomenal....also thank God, there are nobs and buttons for a lot of things :-) Simple and clean interior design. Backupcamera is not the greatest but it gets the job done. The exterior design is just awesome!!

You can get the Stelvio and Giullia with manual gearbox but only in some European countries like Italy, Greece, France, Spain and Portugal

I test drove these for engineers and the Stelvios turbo EATS oil like crazy. Maybe it was just the two we had but they ate through that oil every shift.

I see this same white Stelvio being reviewed by all reviewers.. It seems Alfa doesn't want to loan more Stelvio's with different colors to the reviewers. Stingy. White Stelvio does not look pretty it needs to be either dark blue or red. White is a no no. Ah yeah 0-60 3.3 sec is amazing. That is sick quick. Alex, your reviews are very good. Going forward I would like you to add in 0-100 runs and quarter mile and trap speed to your reviews as well. 0-60 is not enough.

Another excellent review! I love what they've done with this masterpiece of a vehicle, but even if I had to choose all over again I'll most likely stick with my BMW M40i. The reason for that is, just the overall package. However.... once a proper M variant of the X3 is released I may have to lose the M40i for the X3M. I don't think the X3M will outshine the Stelvio Quadrifoglio in terms of sheer performance but again, the overall package.

At 26m05s in, you say why not, but... 2017 Porsche Macan Turbo w/ Performance Package 0-60 = 4.0s -- zeroto60times.com 2018 Stelvio Quadrifoglio = 3.3s -- zeroto60times.com Handling and size are also close enough that I would consider both of these cars together.

Install a battery that is rated a bit lower than recommended. The car will think the battery is not fully charged will never engage stop/start

It doesn't seem to be the case as Giulia Quadrifoglio owners are bringing their cars to the dealership for 50k mile maintenance, meaning they are lasting. Just because 1990's Alfa had bad reliability doesn't mean their reliability is bad forever for all their new cars.

Ethan - Alfa Romeo 164. Some may have been unreliable but some just kept running and running. If you get bad luck you get a bummer one. It also has to do with how owner takes care of the car.

The reliability of german cars are much worse. They are really bad at reliability. It is just the german marketing against the italian cars. While the car may be amazing from a reviewer's standpoint; I doubt any sane person would buy this vehicle- lease, maybe; but not buy. Alfa does not have anything remotely like a history of reliability or even the ability to service their vehicles and have them last. They are, essentially, tarted up Fiat and that means junk. As for Alfa themselves, well; since returning to the US market, at least in my area we've already had 2 Alfa dealerships open and close. That ain't good. Where are you going to take this beast to be serviced? The local Dodge/RAM dealership?
