I just got a new one in the EX-L trim because my 2017 Hyundai crapped out after only 36k miles. So far the Honda has exceeded the Hyundai in every way.
@MeynMotorGroup5 жыл бұрын
Hmm I’m really surprised what Hyundai did you have and what did they say? They came with like a decade long warranty was it considered a lemon or something?
@rer19675 жыл бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup, I had the Elantra limited with ultimate package. Trouble started when driving to work one morning, the check engine light came on, it was flashing and the car started shaking violently with an irregular idle. Had it towed in, they didn't honor a rental car so I had to rent a car for a week. Said a coil pack went bad, and had two recalls, thermostat and software update. Well next morning after getting it back the check eenginne light came on again. After hearing how they talked to a few other customers at this particular dealership and talking with a few coworkers who got rid of their Hyundais, I decided that it was better to get rid of it before it totally crapped out like those customers that I heard getting screwed over and the co-workers who also had engine trouble. I did a lot of research and found that Hyundai has for years had poor practices in the manufacturing of their engines which leaves metal shavings inside of the engine. This has lead to many customers with engines that lock up. I can honestly say that after this experience with Hyundai, I will never buy another one.
@MeynMotorGroup5 жыл бұрын
Damn really sorry to hear that because those Hyundai’s are good driving cars and have come along way but I get it, not everyone is going to have a good experience. These are cars at the end of the day, very complex, lots of moving parts, and nowadays, a lot of electronics. Yours went out prematurely and there have been other people who’ve had there’s for 100s and thousands of miles, one lady hit a million miles in her Elantra and it was on an older one too. I know a guy where his transmission went out on his brand new corolla and I know another guy with a 2005 SLK Benz with over 100k miles no issues at all. I just advise everyone to get a warranty and that cars can break at anytime but very unfortunate you had to go through that

Great review Kevin. Do you find it difficult to get into? I like the car but jeez I I feel like I'm sitting on the ground when I get into it. I guess this is the way the mid sized car is going. I better get used to it or get an SUV.
@MeynMotorGroup5 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks Randy, so no I actually did not have too many issues getting in and out of this car. Mid size cars have gotten a bit more aggressive recently and are certainly lower than they used to be but, I personally didn’t have too many issues. The larger Full size sedans are always much easier to get into so you may like something like an Avalon as those sit up higher and yea SUVs too. Thanks for stopping by again!
@MeynMotorGroup4 жыл бұрын
Yea it does help with a lower center of gravity. I suppose because SUVs are top sellers now, they’re trying to make sedans stand out by making them seem “sportier.” But this wasn’t too bad to access I feel like the compact car segment is a bit more difficult to get in and out od

People calling this the ugly duckling probably drive the current gen Honda Civic. I do think Honda F'd up not making it a sportback. Also first to do it? What about the Stinger/Arteon ): those can be had for $30K range too
@MeynMotorGroup5 жыл бұрын
Yea but the Stinger and Arteon aren’t technically in the “midsize” segment like camrys and altimas. And this came out in 2018 or late 2017 so Arteon wasn’t a thing in the States yet. Great car tho I wanna try it out and yes they come in at a good price point. Thanks for stopping by brother
@devongee17765 жыл бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup I would argue that they are midsize options hehe because they're definitely not full size and they're definitely not compacts. I guess if we made a new category like midsize sport but ik if you go to VW's site and customize the Arteon (at least, this was true when I was looking at one), they categorize it as a midsize alongside Passat. Kia's a better example though because they actually HAVE a full size sedan in US, Cadenza.
@MeynMotorGroup5 жыл бұрын
Yea it’s kind of like a sport premium offering. Because Kia has the Optima and Cadenza and the Arteon kinda replaces the old CC as the stylish premium version of the Passat. I mainly just care about price and if you find aggressive enough dealers then you can make some interesting comparisons haha

Great review bro. How does this compare to your LS?
@MeynMotorGroup5 жыл бұрын
So ride quality, obviously LS is going to be one of the most comfortable cars in the world haha But as far as everything else, there is just so much more confidence driving this, the brakes are better, turn in is better, steering does have the on center deadness like it does with my LS. Perhaps some more aggressive brake pads and 19” lighter wheels and proper tires can make my LS feel better but it’s a cruiser at the end of the day. You just have far more confidence in pushing these new cars and straight line performance is still very good in this base 1.5. Thanks for watching my friend!

It's a no from me I'm afraid. I actually like the look quite a bit. But with this kind of car you want something larger than a flat 4. Hearing that awful engine sound every time you need a little push forward sounds depressing and uninspiring. I'll have to take your word about the fuel economy. But in my experience larger engines (within reason) where you're not constantly smashing the throttle get you better mpg. But anyway, good review.
@MeynMotorGroup5 жыл бұрын
Yea I understand but I guess with these cars, we just gotta assume that people buying these don’t care about sound haha. And yes good point you brought up, I think I mentioned this in the review as well but large displacement NA motors are pretty good on fuel. There’s only a few Turbo engines that actually get good fuel and the Honda’s are one of them. Thanks for watching my friemd

The 2.0L Turbo cuts a 13.95 1/4 quarter mile and 5.7” 0-60. So the commment about the 4 cylinder not being adequate, wrong!! Those are big V-8 numbers with 4 cylinder economy. Which means way better gas mileage than the V6, faster than the V6, and handles much better than the V6 because there is a lot less weight hung over the front wheels.
