The dual monitor actually makes sense. Once screen is navigation and the other does everything else. This is convenient when on a road trip and you want entertainment, you can select your music or whatever without losing the navigation screeen
@squidproquo22415 жыл бұрын
@Maticalise Music Master _ Actually when Acura came up with this dual screen infotainment first time you could decide on which screen you want what. If you wanted navigation on the tope you set it up that way, if you wanted it on bottom one you set it that way etc. It was so versatile. However idiot car reviewers start to whine about it because they are incapable of making decision while driving. They got confused terribly. When European car makers come up with dual screens made the decision in their place for which screen should be used for what, they became happy about it and they called it more intuitive. Luckily consumer know much better that these idiot reviewers.

I bought a base 2010 MDX new. SH-AWD was standard. The 6-speed automatic shifts quickly and smoothly. It has a 120k miles, no mechanical issues ever. Only complaints now are that the tech is ancient, and gas mileage disappointing. I’ll keep it until the next re-design has been out a year or so, as long as the 9-speed auto has been ditched.

Thank you for an excellent, honest review. Reviewer is articulate, precise, and to the point. I wouldn't say the 2019 RDX's infotainment system is better than the MDX though. I find the true touch pad to be awkward to use and would much prefer the dual screen touch interface on the MDX.

Jeez...how did we survive without all of these new safety features, like blind spot monitoring, and automatic braking?..It seems to me to be more gadgets and gizmos that have potential for trouble just when you begin to feel comfortable with your car...I don't lease cars...I buy mine and keep them long term...now all this new technology is scary to me and yet it's nice to have it...I guess I'll choose wisely when ordering a new car and keep the new gizmos to a minimum.

MDX is not due for a refresh until MY2021 with an early release in late summer of 2020, so it's still 2 years away. I was in the same boat a few weeks ago and after driving the 2019 A-spec I decided to pull the trigger. Things that I considered were the fact that pretty much all the bugs are worked out by now, you can get pretty deep discounts on those cars now, and there will be no deep discounts on MY2021. I decided that from now on I will only buy cars that are a mid-model refresh for above stated reasons.

I'm a car critic. My job is to criticize. Figured my ownership of a 2017 FWD would make for an interesting angle. For the money, in this segment, you can't beat the MDX. I'd buy one again, especially now that the transmission isn't a mess. But I'd also recommend waiting until the next redesign.

She was reading the comments on this thread out loud to me, and yours was one of them. I got curious. So far, I'm liking the new direction Acura is taking. "next acura mdx from good to great" the next generation might improve a little but not much. Ie: cramped 3rd row seat with no auto folding, no android connectivity, Honda plastic parts, Poor CVT transmission that's design to fail, poor breaking distance, honda ceiling that's design to sag, crappy infotainment and obsolete navigation, no massage front seat and others.
