Sibir Lupus that's what I'm waiting for! Rumors are 3.0tt with nsx hybrid system. www.jalopnik.com/this-mystery-acura-prototype-looks-awesome-1823334563/amp?source=images
@SibirLupus6 жыл бұрын
I don't think we'll see something that elaborate in the 3rd gen RDX. Possibly in the new MDX or RLX. Honda already has a patent for a 3.0L Turbo V6. And from what I gather from that Acura prototype you linked, it most likely features that rumored/patented 3.0L Turbo V6 under the hood with 10 speed automatic and 4th generation SH-AWD system. And that isn't the first time Honda/Acura has used an older platform to test next drivetrains. Honda/Acura used 7th gen Accords as test mules for the first gen SH-AWD system that ended up in the 2005 Acura RL.
@jmasoncars44526 жыл бұрын
Sibir Lupus yeah definitely, I know it's a mule hiding a different platform underneath. They also used a TSX to hide the rear drive V8 RL that was cancelled. Acura also has a rumored 11 Speed Triple clutch transmission.

I have a 13 year old Acura TSX. I had an oil lab diagnostic test performed on the engine. They found the K24 engine to be in excellent condition and minimal wear noted. Comparing universal averages of elements & properties found in this engine, there is no reason why this car shouldn't run another 13 years. Thank you Acura for making reliable vehicles which has allowed me to save about $54,000 dollars in 9 years of not making car payments.

Curious how you actually came up with that number but wow, that 2nd sentence is the most pseudo intellectual thing I've heard all day
@ZDriver19966 жыл бұрын
CantLiveSober Perhaps if you take the time to look at the MSRP of a Acura TSX in 2005 ($28,000), assume a normal 4.5% interest rate on a 60mo loan you'd see that the amount is $522. Or take a minute to research and discover the average car loan costs in the U.S. are approximately $503 over 68mo. If someone hasn't been paying $500/mo for 9 years that = $54,000.
@PootieTooGood6 жыл бұрын
Ok dude. You're not "saving" money just because you're not spending money you were never obligated to pay. Perpetually having a car payment is also a recent phenenomem. This type of mentality is why car companies are so damn profitable because they fool consumers with "oh well you're gonna have a car payment anyways, why not upgrade to a new car?"
@ZDriver19966 жыл бұрын
No one is obligated to pay for anything except taxes, and child support.. but people choose to live a certain lifestyle. For some reason you appear to suggest that you're smarter than others as they are "fooled" into making car payments. The manner in which you stated your position on acquiring a vehicle illustrates jealousy and or arrogance of someone who is lacking. Maybe you deliver newspaper on your bicycle and have no need for vehicle. Or maybe you're a pharmaceutical rep who truly needs a reliable entry level luxury vehicle for extended travel distances and to take clients out? The later would understand the true cost of ownership savings, opportunity costs/economic profits a vehicle can provide.

This price makes the RDX look like a steal compared to the Lexus NX and QX50.
@ビップレクサス6 жыл бұрын
BG Acura has always priced under the competition. While I do think this RDX is a good car, I don't think its a "steal". You get what you paid for. The Lexus NX and QX50 definitely have nicer interiors and they are much more refined. For the Lexus, specifically, the interior is much more modern looking.
@bg6936 жыл бұрын
I’ve sat in both the new QX50, RDX and the Lexus NX. As far as the underpowered NX is concerned, I think it’s a rip off. It has nice comfortable seats with outdated gauges (including the SMALL 4inch information screen) that look old. Lexus FINALLY updated the to the 10 inch screen over the 7 inch screen.... while the BASE model 2013 Accord came with a standard 8 inch screen. The 7 inch screen should have never been there in the first place. It has the old infotainment system and still some plastic I would prefer not to see in a ‘luxury’ car including the cheap steering wheel controls. The NX also doesn’t have a Head-Up Display, adaptive dampers or a panoramic sunroof. You can’t even get a premium Mark Levinson audio system in the NX, which is ridiculous. The most you can get is a ‘premium’ audio system with 10 speakers. Now to the rip off of the century… the $60K 2019 Infiniti QX50 that is equipped with a CVT (similar to the one in my rented Nissan Altima) for a whopping $13k more than the RDX!! The infotainment system is the same in my buddy’s 2006 M35. The car has like a 4 inch HUD and doesn’t even come with 4 way lumbar support, wireless charger and a thigh extender. If you want the safety options that are standard in the RDX you have to get the $48K model that still doesn’t have navigation etc. The gauges are also the same as in a base Nissan Altima. For the price of a QX50 I can get a loaded MDX or even an RX350 F Sport. Neither of these cars have the most updated 3D audio system that’s in the RDX or the Android Auto and Apple Carplay and both of their infotainment systems aren’t the best with the latest LS500 still behind the pack as far as ease use. You can say the Lexus is more modern looking, but I disagree. There is nothing cute or modern about plastic in a luxury car. Tell Lexus to put some real wood and aluminum in that car and then we will talk! Even the 2019 Avalon has REAL wood in the upper trims. You can tell how much an automaker is willing to invest in their car by a few things and one being the audio system. If I can't get the ancient ML system in a Lexus it's at the bottom as far as importance. Lexus did the same thing with the IS for years and didn't allow for a Mark Levinson audio system in that car until 2013 or so. Even Acura offers the 12 speaker ELS in tech package then an audio system with CEILING speakers which is non-existent for and car or SUV under $50K......

@jlegresley6 жыл бұрын
Worth a look too...
@rjc-ii6 жыл бұрын
Norm T The 2019 Envision just got a power bump that gives it 15 lb ft more torque than the RDX but it’s still down 20 hp. Plus according to Buick’s website the 2.0T starts at $42k while Acura gives you a 2.0T RDX at $37k. For under $40k you’re getting more features than a base RDX but you’re stuck with the 2.5L Envision that makes less than 200 hp
@normt54636 жыл бұрын
John LeGresley Motor Trend says the RDX 2.0T is slower than the 2019 QX50 2.0T with it's new engine where the RDX new Accord 2.0T is putting out less. "...The 268-hp crossover recorded a 0-60 mph time of 6.6 seconds and a 15.1-second quarter mile at 91.6 mph. That's a good bit slower than the last 280-hp Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport we tested but slightly quicker than the 272-hp Acura RDX A-Spec." So C&D 6.6 second 0-60 mph was correct on calling it a Bspec or Cspec. Even Consumer Reports's 7.0s 0-60 was also correct. No sub 6-second time for RDX 2.0T.
@normt54636 жыл бұрын
RJ Charles the Envision is 2.0T only and torque vectoring AWD standard. It is currently $10,000 off MSRP and has more features than the RDX for the price.

As i saw, the rdx shift really quickly, and could be the quickest out of 5 vehicles. Ofcourse Audi BMW Mercedes and Volvo all have their performance trims like AMG, T6, M, and SQ, but that's a different story, they're all way more expensive. Pricing is a plus for the rdx, a fully loaded rdx is under 50k, that's a steal deal since we can have all the fancy things. Moreover, I prefer the front end of the rdx over the germans competitors. The q5 is also my favorite. I could also guess the rdx will out perform the others in terms of driving dynamic. It's really a good comeback for Acura. the only downside about the new rdx in my opinion is the rear end design, I don't like it, also I wish it has a full LCD cockpit like the Audi and the Volvo. That would be great.
@swanblake6 жыл бұрын
Quân Anh Audi dct will always shift faster. Just will
@boa45336 жыл бұрын
Blake Swan, brother, that's what I assumed from the video. I'm not a fan boy of any automaker. I think I was clear enough, the rdx has 10 gear while the q5 has 7 gear, it could potentially shift faster. I didn't say the other cars are bad, instead, they're have been good vehicles for a long time. The last generation of the rdx was shit and not even included in the class. And with under 50k, I think the rdx would beat the other 4 overall. The fully loaded q5 gla, x3, and xc60 are way more expensive and ofcourse they will outperform the rdx.

Great video. However, seems like most are overlooking the fact that at least for the first 5-6 months of the RDX's release, there will be NO price advantage compared to the German brands.. which are offering incentives, while Acura will be selling for MSRP. So for roughly the same price, I'm not sure there's a real advantage to getting a vehicle with Acura's brand reputation when compared to a Benz, Bimmer, or Audi.

@robb4126 жыл бұрын
The cost of ownership is another factor to consider. Go to an Audi dealer and get a quote on an oil change and replacement brake pads/rotors and compare to an Acura dealer. Also, BMW's parts are always a premium, plus you have to wait to get them shipped from Germany...
@BaileyLAK6 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't argue that maintenance costs are higher on a true luxury car. However, at least with Audi, you only service the vehicle (including oil) every 10,000 miles, whereas with Acura oil changes are required more often than that. But yes, Japanese is always going to be cheaper than German. But as they say, you get what you pay for..

Acura hit it "out of the park" with the 2019 RDX. Iv'e looked at everything out there......all roads lead to RDX!

Does the RDX have variable valve timing that allows the use of regular fuel like the MDX?
@adamc16946 жыл бұрын
As far as I know yes. On another video I saw minimum 87, perineum recommended.

Man, I was really digging the RDX until he said it takes premium gas. That's a dealbreaker for me..
@1882dmac5 жыл бұрын
I just looked at the RDX yesterday. It can take 87, but 91 recommend. Not really sure exactly what that means. I'm trying to decided with the Volvo or RDX.

Can you review the 2019 Lincoln mkc?

I think when infinti goes through a major redevelopment, they will make an suv that will smoke the a spec. Acura are nice but the top of the line a-spec tlx can’t beat the base model 3.0 q50

Why do America’s always make mention of the city and Canada? Why not mention the province the city is in? Whistler, BC(British Columbia) Canada. Instead of Whistler, Canada.

Artur Eff the 2.0T segment is crowded and Acura picked the most expensive they don't even compete too except on paper.
@nahdiaalmonte31965 жыл бұрын
Norm T if acura didn’t compete with these cars, he wouldn’t have made this video obviously🙄
@nahdiaalmonte31965 жыл бұрын
Norm T and it’s not like Buick competes with these cars either. Yeah their sales may be better, but it doesn’t matter. I wouldn’t compare a Buick with a bmw, Audi, merc, etc. Not even with a Mazda.

Of course it'll be 8-10 grand cheaper than the Europeans, it's a Honda(that's not a bad thing)!
