He's an amazing deadlifter, no doubt, but I think otherwise he's extremely overrated. Incredibly overrated. He competed in 5 qualifiers for the ASC this year and only cracked top 5 once. That's saying something considering there's only a couple top guys at each one. At the top level, I don't consider him a serious contender, just a guy filling out the field, comparable to a Mark Felix. But compared to just a normal guy that lifts, yeah, he's a monster.

Thor’s fans since 2018 have been saying “he’ll pull 501 this year!” And he hasn’t done it yet. I also strongly believe the elephant bar is easier to pull with as well due to the bend of the bar, meaning the weights don’t get off the floor until way late. Will he do it? Who knows.

He log pressed 202 kg, he can keep up with deadlifts and he can lift a really good amount of atlas stones. He deserves to be considered for a strongmen event. Maybe not top 10 yet, but he doesnt have to be top 10 now if he can be top 10 later. Chicken legs??? He squatted 900 pounds..

@@formhubfar I don't get the hate for the guy. I understand the annoyance at the Larry Wheels fanboys making ridiculous comparisons to professional strongmen, but from what I've seen of his training with Thor and Martins he just seems respectful yet hungry, and that's no bad thing. He may well get there eventually, and regardless of whether he succeeds he seems like a good dude. No reason to knock him because some of his fans are asses.

These feats of strength are impressive. I am no expert on this sport, but I do worry about the hemorrhages that are coming out as a result of the heavy lifting. It shows that too much pressure is going to the heads (even brains) of these athletes due to the nature of the exertion. Still they are very impressive.

@@braxtonmarshall1883 He got 501 right at his knees last time. Not crazy at all. Deadlift is one of the later events so he might be too taxed this year but he has the strength 100%. My calculation is correct. Sure of it. Most people can deadlift about 88% of their 1RM for 4 reps. 455/88=517 and Thor is a lot more proficient than most people so the odds of him being at that point are big.
