Nobody buys an A1 for practicality. It's a boutique lady-car. The Z4 is quite reliable and you can still get one with warranty/motorplan ;P Also you avoid new-car depreciation, and the Z4 is holding value very well.

You make a valid point, but that does not apply to me ;P I was pointing out the ridiculousness of out-of-showrrom car pricing.. The 1st owner takes an immediate ~20% knock in depreciation as soon as he takes it off the floor.. To me, that's stupid. Rather go used.

There are a few. There's the Kia Rio, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Suzuki Swift. These are great cars in their own respect but I doubt you'll find any good cars from a premium manufacturer at that price point

If you want to know what it’s like to drive my local VW dealer has the new Polo on its floor... This car is nice, but let’s be honest with ourselves... it’s just an overpriced Polo and in my opinion I think the Polo looks better anyway, however I’d take neither, I’d rather have the new Mk8 Fiesta ST, unfortunately that car isn’t sold here anymore thanks to our lack of 98-octane so I’ll just stick with my Mk7... The upcoming Peugeot 208 and Renault Clio will be a better buy. They have all the tech and quality at far lower price points. After all, Audi interior materials come from Faurecia which is owned by Peugeot. Sooo.... No point to this really. Also the Peugeot and Renault look better and premium as well. Amazing how the European small vehicles look way more upmarket than the equivalent from Asia like a Hyundai i20 or Toyota Yaris or Kia Rio. The only exception possibly to be the next Mazda 2. Based on new Mazdas the next 2 will be great.
