I’ve watched most of your playlists so easy to watch and great quality, watched a German guys series on he and his wife on a 12 day trip to the lakes and Peak District then it hit me that all you foreign types have a greater appreciation of this country and are.better videographers than the locals, keep up the amazing work I’m learning some great out of the way places and I only lived here over 60 years you put me to shame I thought I knew my country well, I wait with baited breath for the next content regards Ray

@Invictus I just found your comment after long being online, as YT is not sending notifications for that. I'm really glad you enjoyed and yes, you are right about the appreciation and video quality. I think as a nation you are generally speaking great engineers and rock musicians but there are better classic composers, painters or ... videographers for that matter :) Not thinking about myself though, after a few years I think my old videos were pretty bad TBH. 😂🍺

My friend, this is absolutely spectacular. I’m planning a big trip this summer and I’m trying to learn how to film and edit in the meantime. This is EXACTLY how i want my work to look. Am i right in thinking you had a camera on a 360 ball mount on the bars for the shots to the side and front/side? Is that gimballed or is it software stabilisation? The shots, editing and colour grading are inspirational
@UncleLongbeard
@UncleLongbeard 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for a kind words mate :) That footage is 99% from gopro7 with no gimbal. The ball mount is not the best for versatability - the chest mount works better if you want to move the camera to the sides often. Cheers
@iflipyofareal
@iflipyofareal 4 жыл бұрын
@@UncleLongbeard thanks for the advice! It really does look very well stabilised. I've only got a hero 3 at the moment, but I'll definitely look into the chest mount and maybe think about treating myself to the hero 7! Thanks again
@UncleLongbeard
@UncleLongbeard 4 жыл бұрын
@@iflipyofareal Well, the hero3 does not have any stabilization but that's not the only issue as your body with the chest mount is stabilizing the footage itself. At least a bit. But the other issue is the dynamic range of the camera. It's just way worse than the newer models. If you want to go cheaper than hero7 or 8 buj sjcam sj8pro. It will do the job

@UncleLongbeard

@ledolphinois
@ledolphinois 3 жыл бұрын
Uncle Longbeard I am from Grenoble, French Alps. Then, weather is not a key point from my side, even if riding during the best season could be much more enjoyable. I have to take a look for the boat between the netherlands and Edimbourgh or France and Wales. And watch more videos as yours ✌🏼
@UncleLongbeard
@UncleLongbeard 3 жыл бұрын
AFAIK there is no good ferry connection up there. So coming from Grenoble it makes the most sense to go through the channel tunnel which will be the fastest option. So if you go to Scotland, the best case scenario is 4 days on motorways trying to reach Scotland and back but realistically it'll be rather 6 days. That would leave you with 3 to 5 days (if you'll have 9 free days in total) to visit Scottish Highlands. Doable but it's better to spend more time there. So... if I would be in your position I would look for a longer trip or would go to Wales, maybe up to Lake District if there will be enough time. Leave Scotland for a longer holidays.

Good vid, well presented. Please though, please don't make those ewes run like that, some never get over that and it's not unknown for ewes to die of various factors after being run hard like that.

Well, I think it really doesn't matter which song will I chose there will always be someone who dislike it. So I prefer choosing the music I like. Cheers
