If you think the ride is too bumpy, maybe you should think about adjusting the driving mode setup, which can very easily be changed so that the suspension is in comfort-mode, while the drivetrain stays in sports-mode. That will make a huge difference, and most probably change your mind on the ride comfort a bit..🤔😉

tried i had the car for 2 days it sucked no matter what, this car is a huge disapointment and not good for BMW image and reputation. Consumer Reports rates it as poor as well as JD Power and all other outlets for lack of comfort, reliability and ride quality. S Class wins in this category right now.

@@autofanaticcars The M Sport version shouldn’t be used in the north east, it’s fine for non snow areas, which don’t get pot holes. Ditch the run flats and next time don’t get any car with low profile tires, they all suck.

Thanks for the Review. I needed to hear this. I was going to purchase this same exact car and color from 21st century auto group in Springfield NJ. And now I’ve changed my mind based on this review and seeing how bumpy this ride is. And I drive and live in NYC & NJ so we drive the same roads and I can’t deal with those bumps. I’m gonna check out the S class.

you will hate the 7 series around where we drive, i later saw online reports on how bad the new 7 is for ride quality and customer satisfaction, its a total disgrace how bad this car is. S class all day long or the Lexus LS if thats what your after

all these machines are tough. My friend solved this problem by installing 225 65 r17 tires. the car is much smoother.

Just a question how are u comparing a s560 to a 740 ? There nowhere the same I could see if u compared a s550 with a 750 but at least level off the playing field here. A s560 would compare with a 760 not a 740 not even 750

Love the look of everything on BMW... but, no personality, and the one I bought (5 Series) was nothing but trouble for 6 months, had to return and get my money back after a long fight...doubt I’d ever buy another one. Sticking with my Shelby! Thx for the ride along! Love those😁

I can’t slide into a new one but the costs on repairs of a used once they pass 60k miles one is the only thing keeping me from owning one..

You probably left it in Sports Mode, just switch it to comfort or eco-mode. Also, the rear air bags or struts are gone, the car should NOT drive like that. I own one, and the heavy rear requires the rear suspension to be replaced every 5 to 7 years. Yes, swap the run flats to Michigan Pilot 3. It will cost about $3k to have the rear suspension fixed.

@@rhenry799 Air suspension on the 7 has a limited life of about 7 to 8 years tops. He’s also has low profile run flats, which are like driving on bricks, in the sports mode. I rewatched were he hit the bump, and he crossed the double yellow line. Lesson learned on ALL BMW’s is to swap out the Run Flat Tires (RFT) for Michelin Pilot 4 and do NOT use low profile tire rims in NY. Some of the 7 series can support a factory donut, or just get AAA or add towing package to your insurance for a few bucks.

i drove back to the scene earlier today and it was a deep manhole that caused this damage, the road is perfectly paved and was done last year go figure, but they never raised the manholes

no one ever brings up the audi A8, the A8 gives you both luxury and sportiness. isnt the best on looks cause it looks simple but I think it should get some type of shine as well

The S560 is the benchmark for the segment, but when leasing (which most people do with these cars) the BMW and LS500, are FAR cheaper. You could lease two LS500s for the price of one S560. Just leased the 2018 LS500 and the S560 wasn't even in the ball park. At least 800 p/m more

yes the Merc leases are insane around the NY area and I agree the Lexus and BMW offer more lease incentives, glad you choose the LS500 it is a great luxury car how do you like it so far?

I love the LS500, especially the look, non-fsport... Had the older 'L' one so it was pretty much a no brainer. Although, I do feel it is a little more cramped over my old one (that could be the dark headliner though) and lexus enform usability is lackluster.. Lexus of White Plains gave me a deal I couldn't refuse so here I am, under 700 p/m with only fees upfront. Color is kind of ugly as it was the last 2018, Autumn shimmer, but its only a 2 year lease. Mercedes wanted 1500, BMW 800.

Mercedes sclass == doctor/surgeon Lexus= engineer of some sort.. Bmw= buisness man entrapenaur You forgot one cadiliac= drug dealer lol bar owner haha What ya think? Anyhow i think the reason the beemer hits so hard is the suspension set up the m spec rides a little harder coupled with the fact tires are not the best and car is heavy too!!! But all and all i live in upstate albany area and the roads are shot up here too i would probably buy the 750i regualr spec and mod it up to my liking...

S class in my opinion is a better built and engineered car, very surprised to be honest but for 100k i would cringe driving in NY with the 7 series each day worrying about my chassis and rims and tires.

Mercedes is reluctant in my experience. BMW eggs me on to give it more speed. Also note that true performance vehicles want to give suspension feedback. It's not trying to be the most comfortable on the road. It's a delicate balance with these sedans between performance and luxury. Mercedes wins for luxury; only it gets crushed by a more balanced BMW. Just as Porsche will destroy the other two for performance but will die in the luxury department.

yeah they are so polar opposites but to be honest I was expecting this car to ride much smoother than it did during my 2 days with it regardless of who made the car. something just seemed very off how hard it hit bumps for a car in 2019 with all the fancy architecture under the skin.I know realize why so many are on lease trader in the USA I guess owners are tired of bent rims and flat tires I know I would be.

100% true this new & series just outright SUCKS, everyone knows it in the media as well. the S Class wins by a very big margin in this segment. The best & was the older E38, just a solid simple elegant car with a sportier driving experience compared to the older W140 S class series

great car but not for me, I just don't like big cars in NYC, I like the hatch and the cargo of it, the chassis is solid as as rock as well we use to repair these in my old shop they were the hardest cars to do frame work after a collision , cayenne as well, both tanks. no idea what BMW failed to do on the new 7 but I never expected a new 7 with all the advancements to ride this poor.

I'm working on my own exit plan out of CT. Funny that all the wealthy are finally leaving NY State, and now they are staring at at 2+ billion revenue shortfall.
