the worst 7 series review the v8 is the one to avoid 740li down pipe and a tune you will be just fine

I’m considering the 7 series again lol I had the 2008 one but it had a lot of problems and my bro in law has the 2016 750i xdrive but he was under warranty at the time so it saved him in repairs and that’s what I’m trying avoid looking for one 2016 - 2017 how many miles should I be looking for with up to date maintenance? Somebody told me it’s better to go with the rear wheel drive tho what’s y’all thoughts will appreciate any info as I’m looking for one

I used to have a 2003 745Li. Bought brand new from dealership. That was a headache to own towards the end. Then in 2019, I purchased a CPO 2016 740i with 22k miles. I gave the 6 cyl a shot. It had the executive package and M-sport package with Merino Nappa leather (diamond-stitched), adaptive cruise control, digital key fob, etc basically it had every option except rear entertainment (tablets), V8, xDrive, and Bowers & Wilkins sound system. It came with harman/kardon. MSRP was $97k, I got it for $39k plus $10k warranty. I sold the 2016 after 1.5 years and it had 29k miles when I sold it. In the 1.5 years of ownership, I had to take it into BMW to fix an issue with driver side not having any A/C, moonroof malfunction, and replacing the coolant tank because it cracked and leaked coolant all over my garage. I love the 7 series but recently looking to buy maybe an S class (preferably 2019-2020 S560 or maybe the S450). I’m not too familiar with how the Benz engines and features hold up over time. But I am looking at some used 7 series again, I wish I can get an Alpina B7. Only thing I would say is…never get the first year model of a facelift or LCI. When the G11 generation came out in 2016, wait to get the 2017, and when the G11 got an LCI in 2020, wait to get 2021. Now that the new 2023 G70 is out, wait til the 2024 models.
