Kienle has the highest Triathlon IQ -- and the fact that he says he can't find the 10 mins on Jan demonstrates his anxiety about things haha. Great race, Sebi!

Great interview Bob, always lovely watching you and your guest. Sebastian is one of our most liked Triathlete to follow. I do love his honest genuine way in stating his opinion even though he is often enough being censored for it by his managing Director ;) (wife) for it whereas he has to bite on his tongue.

Great guy, I was able to talk to him briefly this year - even though he was busy spying on the opponents' gear, he was happy to give this random age grouper some insight. Go Sebi!

Kienle listens well. he is smart and a great champion. he seems content with his hard fought third place . like his analogy of needing ten minutes.

When he says Wurf did all the work up front what does he mean if you can't draft?
@bobdown55205 жыл бұрын
Set the pace
@rogerc235 жыл бұрын
There is legal drafting which still helps. Which is why the riding ride in a line. Wurf was up from which also means the others can follownhis pace which takes a mental load of you.
@careywaldie67355 жыл бұрын
So being 12 meters behind you can still get a bit of a draft?
@rogerc235 жыл бұрын
@Carey Waldie. Yes a bit especially in strong winds like Kona. Is it 12 meters or 7 meters at Kona I can’t remember? But he SK isn’t focusing on the draft as much as Wurf driving the pack and setting the pace. That would be my opinion. And if you have successive riders like the pack of 5-6 that SL was riding in with Wurf and depending how the wind is moving it would create some draft for sure.
@onepunchbud14725 жыл бұрын
Yeah with holding the in a 12m in a group you can still safe something like 10 watts I think. That is actually not bad. Depends heavily on the wind of course. When its coming from front it is more, from side it's less.

All these years of Ironman and the " more is better" mentality still destroys guys every year. I think about that course swim last Saturday. A hard effort one week away from the big one is contraindicated.
