@@jordanstriker1656 Mark was an incredibly good driver, just not in an era of tyre and fuel saving, and not against Sebastian Vettel with an exhaust blown diffuser, nobody can beat Vettel in a car with an EBD. Check early 2012 when the new wave of regulations caused Red Bull to have to redesign the EBD and for the first few races Mark dominated Seb - then when Red Bull got it working again Seb was back to being king. There is no "best driver" though, just the best driver for the set of regulations - if all the cars had crazy good front ends like in 2006 you'd probably still have Kimi being the fastest man alive.

It´s not a confidence factor, it´s Ferrari. He was consistenly in the same time margin (respect Lec) during the hole qualy. Either he is a telemetric master or Ferrari (with his preferences) fucked up the setting. You can´t copy the same gap in every session, every lap. He was always between 0.3 and 0.5.

It's clear that Red Bull, that is Max Verstappen, made some real progress over the past month. Less then 0.2 second behind pole on a track that traditionally suites the Mercedes car the best. I see opportunities for Max if the start is right this time. Even Gasly is faster than Vettel. Well done by Gasly. Since the top 4 drivers are so close together with lap times it is fair to say that the tire management will become a real issue tomorrow during the race. So far it has all the potential to become an exciting race. My guess for tomorrow. Verstappen: 1, Leclerc: 2, Bottas: 3.
