The current Cadillac CTS V is amazing car, even if you don't race. I have a 2017 model. Handling is superb--cornering feels like the car is rotating around it's center rather than turning. And the ride is very compliant, especially if you have the suspension set for touring with sport mode for the acceleration/gearing and steering, which makes it more comfortable around town. When I was young I had a Lotus Elan S4, a unique car in which you could feel everything on the road but the ride was soft. And weighing only 1420 pounds it didn't need power steering, of course, only rack and pinion. There are a few issues I've had with the CTS V, mainly electrical--certain things like lane departure warning and heated driver seats would turn on by themselves sometimes. Twice the transmission disengaged while in drive after coming to a stop, like it was in neutral, and only re-engaged after turning the car off and letting it sit for 15 minutes. Fortunately that's only happened twice and not for a while--the dealer doesn't know what caused it, I suspect it might be related to the electrical problems, perhaps something with the transmission wiring harness, but I don't really know that they have looked at that even though I asked them to recently. The touch screen went bad after about a year and was replaced under warranty. A lot of these cars had a problem with the torque converter causing a vibration during a steady speed between 30 and 60 mph, and that was fixed by flushing the factory transmission fluid three times in a certain prescribed way and replacing it with Mobil 1 synthetic--their own transmission fluid wasn't gripping the torque converter properly, go figure. And after reprogramming the transmission when I first took it in for servicing, the transmission worked fine, no longer up and down shifting irregularly. One other issue that bothers me now is the Recaro seat lumbar bolster will not stay completely deflated as I like it when re-entering the car after it sits for a while or a day; it will partially re-inflate, necessitating reaching down the side of the seat to the control lever to deflate it again--I hope this gets fixed, but won't hold my breath--I wonder if it's related to automatic seat positions going back and forth pumping air into the bolster somehow. More recently, sometimes a Bluetooth paired iPhone won't disconnect from the CUE System after a call is ended, even after the car has been turned off and re-entered later. This seems to be intermittent so far, but I have to open the phone manually, start a call and then cancel, to clear it.

It’s nice to see Cadillac come out with another large V8 powered sedan. When Cadillac ceased production of the DTS to usher in the new XTS, I was a little disappointed to see that Cadillac didn’t put a V8 in that car. I am such a huge fan of Cadillac as my family supports American made luxury! My mom has a 2015 Cadillac ATS Luxury, my dad has a 2012 Cadillac CTS-V, and my grandma and grandpa both share a 2011 blue Cadillac DTS with Northstar L37 V8. I sure hope the spirit of the large V8 family sedan lived on in the new CT6 V-Sport.

In the 500HP model that was next to it (with the Escala-type grill) the recline and massage control are on each side of the rear center armrest, as they always have been. However on the V-Sport rear center armrest those controls are definitely absent. I have studied others' videos from the same show and drawn the same conclusion. Could you please comment on this functionality in the V-Sport, that is, is it so equipped or not?

Everything Cadillac has been changing since 2016, and in the right direction. The current CT6 is amazing- add in a faster engine, and wow. The technology and quality of the cars are impressive. Within the next 24 months,- Cadillac will say goodbye to the CTS, XTS, and ATS. All three of these cars will be phased out very soon. The models with the letters and number are the new. Currently, 6 is the top. They are introducing the 4 in 2019, and they already released the 5. The 6 will be King for at least five years and maybe, if everything goes as expected- we will see a CT8 for around $120K, +.
