2019 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L Recycle Door Actuator Replacement

A very poor attempt at making a video of replacing the actuator. The actuator was making that annoying clicking sound when I turned the vehicle off. The noise will stop after a few minutes. I found some older model videos but the location of this actuator was in a very narrow area.

Great video! I"ve read that you are supposed to recalibrate the system after replacing the actuator. Did you do that by any chance?

No. The repair manual did not mention any recalibration.

This video was very helpful. It wasn't too difficult to get the old one out but I cannot get the new one in. I can't get it to go in place. Is there any kind of trick?

I saw someone else mention in another video that they couldn't get it to line up either. so they plugged in the new one, closed all the doors, waited, then opened a door and it caused the new part to hunt and move to the proper position, so it lined up.

This was helpful, $20 part, $450 labor quoted by dealer. 10mm socket x4 for airbag, remove small panel on left to access 2 of the bolts: 3 clips, just pull hard. Duct piece is 2x 7mm or Phillips. The thumb wheel rachet is a requirement, got mine in a set for $5 at harbor freight. Find the part on the left side of the cabin filter held in by 2x 5.5mm, follow the wire up near where the duct disconnects. Removing the glove box let me get two hands in there.

Can you tell me how the electrical connector comes apart? Trying to do it by feel, I felt nothing to depress or release to get it to disconnect

For the smaller handed, one can remove the remove the glove compartment and replace the actuator from the cabin air filter side. That way you don't have to remove the air bag or the ducting.

I think we have the same issue on our ‘19 Pacifica Touring. Barely any air comes out the driver and front passenger A/C vents unless setting A/C fan to max. And still it takes some time for air to rush out, as if something was blocking it. Immediately I thought blower fan or actuator door malfunction. Thanks for this video!

Thanks for the video. Mine is doing same and I figured out it was this same part. My feeling is that it is in the wiring because I can put some pressure on the wires and it stops recirc motor from cycling. On my Pacifica it would only happen when a door or something was opened and vehicle wasn’t cranked, then it would cycle for about a minute or 2 then go back into “sleep” mode

I squeezed my hand up there and pressed against the actuator while it was clicking. The slight movement of the actuator caused it to stop the clicking noise. I think mine was more of a mechanical issue inside the actuator itself. I haven't had the issue occur again since I replaced it.

I'm having the same issue with my wife's Pacifica, and I already bought the part. My question is, do I need to unhook the battery or anything? I remember I had to change something like this on my 2011 Chevy Impala, and I had to unhook my battery on my car for a while to drain the computer so it would have to reset itself so the computer could "find" the blend door position. Do I need to do something similar to that with the Pacifica?

The repair manual calls for the battery to be disconnected. I did so and showed in the video.

I wouldn't think so. Maybe low on refrigerant due to a leak. Just a guess though.

8-31-22. 2017 Chrysler Pacifica air recirculator actuator would not shut off, drained and killed battery. Dealer charged $30 for part and $480 in labor, plus $150 battery. Screwed again by dealer

Ah you’re killing me - I can’t figure out how to get to the screws - I must be misunderstanding what casing you removed… I removed the connector out but the screws are impossible! How?? 😓
