If Joseph ever loses in this, it's because he listens to the commentary in the background & responds to it too much. Their match in the Round of 8 was at the same level as any finals in the past. Perhaps they should go to dual elimination and add a losers bracket as well to let us see more games from the amazing players that get knocked out in their first match. Joseph is such a fascinating player to watch. The way he's able to glance at the upcoming piece and make last-minute adjustments with the current piece to create an optimal field is truly next-level. I was a little sad when Joseph ended Jonas's domination of the world championship a few years ago because Jonas was my favorite player, but Joseph has really won me over. An incredible competitor. Also, imagine being so far above everyone else in skill level that you can afford to style on your opponents like Joseph does with that dirty Tetris at 23:56, or when he deliberately burns a line suboptimally at 9:50-9:56 just on the off-chance that he'll get a long bar two pieces later for a field-clearing Tetris. Wild stuff.

I said it already shortly after 2018 tournament: Joseph will mark a new era - with his young age (quicker reaction times) and his hypertapping-technique and of course his talent, he will dominate the next years. See tho, seems ppl think it's all about Joseph's Hypertapping ability that makes him so good, but it's not. It's his ability to know just where to place pieces when the play field gets super dangerous. Even at high levels when he's close to losing it, he always keeps his composure and is able to get himself out of seemingly insurmountable situations. He's simply fantastic at that and that's what makes him so good, not necessarily great Hypertapping ability. Not to mention just his just masterful piece placement ability in general. He's not only the fastest player but also the smartest that I've seen thus far. Of course being a beast ass Hypertapper helps, but it's not why he's world class.

They do right-sided wells because the pieces drop with a right side advantage. There are 10 columns on the play field, the piece cannot drop right in the middle, so the pieces generally favor dropping to the right. When an 'S' piece drops, for example, there are four columns to the left, where there are only three to the right.
