Besides returns and compatibility guarantee why $1400 ( with Navi ). Wish it was a little cheaper. Once a 12” screen version is available with a trim price along with it ( such as the F-250 trim bezel used on lariats and up 22MY and newer ) I’d love that kit. Have your research team use that part to try and replicate it. Gotta work on the price though too, make it so people with a regular 9-5 can afford it.

All the wiring harnesses are included, so you don't have to crimp or cut any wires which would void the warranty. This is a factory radio. The exact same radio Ford would have installed had your truck come with SYNC 4. We also handle the programming, which saves you another trip to the dealership. You can't find a SYNC 4 radio for sale that comes ready to install and guaranteed to work. That said, find a radio with all those features with SYNC 4 for less than that price. It's a fair price.

Why do you want the old module? I want to keep it for when I sell the truck it can be put back to stock since some people may want to have the ability to update software. And why can't this sync 4 software be updated ?

You can keep your old module. You don't have to send it to us. The SYNC 4 software can be updated, just not over the air. You can get the updates at your local Ford dealer.

GPS navigation is build into the vehicle and would not need a phone. Android Auto does need a phone. Thats the biggest differance. Also Android Auto is much easier to update then the OEM navigation which has to be updated at the dealer every 4-5 years.

My moms bronco sport has sync 3 i test drove an f150 with sync4 this makes way more sense why hers was oddballing me on setup while the f150 was imdiately setup (she just bought the bronco yesterday) As the 2019 (was at detail shop so couldnt test drive it) that i could afford has sync 3 it is nice to know upgrading to sync 4 will be easy 🤷🏼‍♂️ Also neat the interior is that straight forward to take apart 🫡

When I got the new APIM to install for this upgrade it appears when I plug it in my truck will not start but if I unplug it my vehicle starts sounds crazy right. also when plugged the apim shuts down the driver side digital display and light features. Interesting how you upgrade went so successful. Any reason why my APIM doesn’t communicate with my truck?

The package that comes from us will also come with a replacement Sync 4 screen. The Sync 4 APIM it self will not function with the Sync 3 8" display. Also the Sync 4 APIM that we sell is pre programmed to the vehicles VIN# to accommodate a plug and play install as well as allowing you to avoid going to the dealer.

It's done. It works. We have it running. The problem with that retrofit is that the dash design in those vehicles are completely different. In order for that to work, you would have to change the entire dash. The other alternative is to design a bezel. But then you loose factory fit and feel. Our product development team is determining the best way to move forward.

@@Infotainment_nav I think designing a bezel is the easiest approach. We have custom bezels for all sorts of 12" android head units so it can easily be done. The difference here is that you've gotta move the air vents and make the room somehow, so I understand it's a bit more of a challenge. I too would be VERY interested in this!

So $1,400 (if you get Nav) plus you want the SYNC 3 APIM sent back to you? Oh and you cannot get any future Sync 4 OTA updates? SYNC 4 APIM's with Nav are fairly cheap, (under $400). Even with the adapter harness and APIM programming, the price is a bit out over the top. Especially when you consider no updates and you get the old APIM to refurb and resell.

Ahh yes, the old I can do it cheaper with eBay parts but haven't done it yet. But believe me, it's that easy. But I haven't done it. We'll ignore the warranty, tech support and compatibility guarantee. We'll also ignore the live phone tech support. You cutting and splicing any wires? They are banking on the tech-illiterate. This one of the easiest swaps to perform. 10 minutes on Forscan & swapping a few wiring positions. Gotta love the male/female RCA in the middle of the harness that should be straight wire into each connector.
