We mentioned our first aid kit in this video amzn.to/2EOvFQn There were a few other comments in the video that were edited out due to time that I'm able to include here. We intentionally keep our first aid kit in the truck. If we had a motorized RV with a towable vehicle, we'd keep it in the tow vehicle. The point being is... our truck is always with us and our trailer is not. Last summer Caleb was microwaving hot teriyaki sauce in a plastic bowl. As he was removing the bowl from the microwave, he flinched from the hot bowl spilling the sauce on his hand. It resulted in a third-degree burn (and excuse the graphic description), his skin melted off his hand. I quickly went to the truck to see if there was burn treatment in the kit listed above and sure enough there was a burn gel pad. We applied it within seconds and then went to the emergency room. One month later there was no scare to be seen. Even our doctor was impressed with how it healed and complimented our quick action and having the right treatment on hand. Had this happened in Alaska, there would be no emergency room for hundreds of miles. As stated in the video, the chances of coming across a traveling nurse, EMT or medical profession is very likely. It's important to have the tools they need to help you. Yes, this first responders kit is more than average, but it's an essential item in our RV gear. If you don't buy this one, take the time to evaluate your first aid kit and purchase the missing items.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I endorse having a quality first aid kit for the reasons you mention. You never know when it will come in handy. One suggestion would be to check it periodically for expired products that need to be replaced. Love your videos! We are hopeful about making our dreams a reality one day.

Keep Your Daydream As a retired wound care nurse I keep 4 different first aid kits in my truck. I have some other duplicates in my trailer as well. If i need to respond to a fellow camper and they are fully stocked, that’s bonus. I have learned though to stock it myself. Some of the bandaids in premade kits are horrible.

You are right about carrying tools you can't use. I'm a 72 year old solo female and two years ago had a blowout on the 5er on an interstate. The AAA tow truck driver had everything except the right size socket for the lug nuts. I KNEW that socket was so important, I kept it in the silverware drawer and handed it to him in less than 30 seconds after he said he had to go into town to get the right size socket. My RV mentor a few years before that had told me to buy that special size and keep it because he knew my wheels required an odd size!

Speaking of tools, an engine-driven (York) air compressor and Viair air tank are two of the best mods I’ve done to my Jeep. Not only does it make airing up large tires a snap, it’s more than a little cool to be able to break out the air tools (like an impact wrench) on the side of the trail/road.

Good for you Marc...you'll love the truck...and 450 HP, should pull with ease, when in the mountain country of U.S & Canada! You may remember from our 'meet up' in Vancouver, my F450 King Ranch, and yes the turning radius is superb! It just comes in handy so darn often, and any vibration you've felt may be from the rear lug tires, and yes...less flex than the smaller tire sizes, but more flexing. Once you get hooked up, the ride should settle in quite nicely. I also added airbags to my F450 for the additional ability in raising/lowering the rear. One thing you should do is check out what we call 'the pumpkin' (rear differential carrier) and see the size of it, compared to your F250...it will be nice to see Marc's 'add-on's' coming up in the next season or two on the truck! Look forward to seeing the whole rig all set up, and your reviews in upcoming video's! Cheers to you both, and happy travels to you all!

I did all this rationalization between the two (350-450) and the numbers pointed to the 350. 350 and 450 towing capacity are so close...the 350 payload is higher......the cost favors the 350.....options favors 350.....the 450 with most insurance companies rate you at the commercial vehicle level etc etc. 450 you get the better turning radius 🤷🏻♂️. Having said that....when paying 70-80k on a truck.....at the end of the day, get the truck that makes you happy. You can’t go wrong with either F350 or F450. Best trucks on the road!

I watched this a few months ago - and I'm so glad I did before my wife and I went test driving last Saturday. My daily car is a VW GTI - ie small and a 'sporty' ride. The first truck we tried was a 1 ton GMC DRW long bed. Took away three observations. First, ride is comparable to my GTI. Second, it takes a couple of lanes to turn it. Third, it is was a beast, fully capable of pulling almost every rig I might look at. We then drove a 2020 F450 DRW LB. OMG! Three observations - OMG it is a wicked cool truck, it's ride is rougher than my GTI and it feels like it can turn circles around the 350/3500. I really could see/feel the benefit of the 450 turning radius.

I went through a similar procedure before purchasing our F-350 DRW diesel to pull our 14,500 lb GVWR 5th Wheel. I also subscribe to BTBRV and was delighted to see the connection and acknowledgement between you guys and JD. I was aware of his disdain for the turning radius of the F-350 and so I watched for that specifically as I took my test drives. Frankly, the turning radius on the F-350 was no worse than I would have expected from a 22 foot long DRW pick-up. What REALLY bothered my was the larger wheels and rough ride (as you experienced) on the F-450. I figured that the rougher ride and larger wheels were more of an issue on longer hauls than the turning radius would be so I bought the F-350 with no regrets. I have come to love it more and more every day, and really have not run into any problems because of the turning radius. Had I known about the cost to replace those 6 tires on the F-450, that would have made my decision even easier! Love your posts BTW and will be sincerely interested in your continued upgrades and improvements to both your vehicle as well as your (suspected at this point) new toy-hauler. I suspect my suspicions will be proven in a few minutes with this week's episode! Looking forward to it.

The Class A can pull our race trailer , but we can definitely feel it behind the motorhome. We wanted another truck and last August we found a 2019 F450 King Ranch at a dealership and fell in love with it and it can be flat towed behind the motorhome when we go on vacation. We had a Roll and Lock bedcover on our 350 and hated it. It was hard for me to pull so we knew we wanted a electric one for the 450. Found a Pace/Edward one. A little pricey but worth every penny.

12:36 Straight out of central casting with these finance guys, with the multiple pictures of junior and missy in their sports uniforms on the wall. It's almost stereotypical enough to be laughable it if weren't so sad. How many times have any of us sat for the multi-hours financing ordeal, designed LITERALLY to wear people down, while little Ashley Nicole and Brenden look down not knowing daddy provides everything for them by basically doing sleight-of-hand with figures and paperwork to absolutely ensure you are parted with as much money as possible. Sure, it's business, and money, and that's the way the world turns, but it is irrefutable that car dealership financing personnel will out-and-out lie at some point if not multiple points during the transaction. I'm NOT saying a dealership shouldn't make money, or money is evil, but it's the lies, soft or hard. Anyone who thinks otherwise is utterly naive. If you're (not meaning KYD by "you're" just meaning any of us) OK with that, or if you think "Hey what can you do, it's the way it goes, it wasn't too bad" then fine, but it's the truth. I've taken my lumps twice with new car financing but have walked away twice. There are countless articles and videos on the ugly truths of dealership tactics and the practices are industry-wide. They're bad and there is almost no avoiding those tactics.

Anthony C Our finance guy was pushing their undercoating and was describing how clean it was compared to the “oily mess” that the competitors use. Then, from under his desk blotter, he pulled out a picture, on an 8x10 sheet of paper (assuming the original was too precious to risk damaging), of the back of a white car, that had black oily marks along the trunk edge and lock. I called him out that the car in the picture was obviously a driveway job of a guy who sprayed used motor oil all over the bottom of his car. It was NOT the work of one of the rust proofing companies. He didn’t say a whole lot in defense.

Heat seaters. Lol. I’m glad I don’t get videoed when I’m talking. There would be all kinds of word switchers! Love your channel! Driver protects his side. Ha ha. Loved the video insert.

Woah! Been on a multi-month hiatus from your channel (all rv channels), other obsessions have consumed my time. Come back and find you are truck and RV shopping in my backyard. I agree, bring every tool you can carry with you as I hate sitting on the side of the road waiting for someone else. Loving that turning radius. My 99 F-350 dually would be on the other side of that sidewalk during that U-turn.

Glad to see the input from BTBRV and to see you moving to a new RV soon. My parents just bought their 3rd rv, going from a 35ft eagle TT to a 38ft eagle FW. Still towing with a chevy 2500HD, but 07 with less than 60,000 miles is not something my dad is willing to let go of.

Great video! I am at the crossroads of choosing a truck, and it's overwhelming because ultimately they all are pretty similar in terms of power delivery, but there are so many other issues to consider such as braking, suspension, turning radius and so on. I can't wait for you guys to reveal your new 5th wheel. I am a project manager, and work around the country, and I am hopefully going full-time at the end of 2019/early 2020, and I will be going with a 5th wheel as well. The rigs I am looking closely at (LUXE 42md and Luxe toyhauler--both have dedicated office space areas) have a GVWR of 24,000 so I will definitely be looking at F450 and Ram 3500 as options. What kept you from considering the Ram 3500 with the max tow package (air suspension)? Is it the turning radius, suspension, and brakes of the F450 that attracted you? Will you be adding a rear air suspension to the F450? Anyways, I am a subscriber and will be staying tuned as you guys move forward because you provide such wonderful commentary into full-time life. Looking forward to more great videos!

you can get upfitter switches added. as far as i know, they come all pre-wired and you find the place in the dash or over head and wire them in. so no big deal. sunroof is a little more tricky, dremel, clear plastic shrink wrap and gorilla tape. trish may freak a little at the sunroof.

Whoo Hoo ! Welcome to the ever fun world of Dually (ugh not really LOLOL!!) oh something we did to ours that has been a bit of a saver (we did the clear protectant - you know the one that many times you put on the front of the truck?) well we had it put on the extended tire that sticks out. Has really helped in the little rocks that fly up and try and chip away the paint. :) So exciting . . can't wait to see the next NEW TOY. and of course if there is a new family member

My family was in the market for a F250 and went looking. We went to the same dealership and actually test drove your used truck. I had the keys in my hand ready to buy it, but got a 2019 instead. I thought I saw you guys at the dealership but was lost in truck world. Like the new truck.

Should have done what we did when we bought out F350 dually. We went through Blue Book online and told them we wanted everything and give us the best price. We had calls from several dealerships in the area with the one we had in mind and went with a local dealer. Walked in, saw the truck they had brought in from another dealership that had everything we wanted, signed papers and we were out the door in less than 2 hours.

Should have looked at the Ram. Better tow capacity and better engine. Plus a much better interior.

I'd certainly agree about the interior, and I've since learned that almost every single diverse reviewer I've watched agrees about the Ram interior. I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment on the Cummins/Powerstroke/Duramax debate.

Congratulations on the up grade! It's a beautiful truck! An FYI Transfer Flow makes fuel tanks for the F450 too. If your ever in Northern California stop on by for a shop tour. The 60 gallon tank you had installed is an awesome setup. I kinda hate to see that truck go! But totally worth it for a 5th wheel.

Uplift Switches... Most ford truck are prewired for the uplift switches. On the 2019 F450 I think the switch mounted on the center dash just to the right of the trailer break control. Ford's Part Number is HC32-13D730-AA. The MSRP is $67.18 for the switch assemble. All you have to do is pop out the panel on your dash beside the trailer break control, find the wiring plug under the dash and connect the switch assemble to the wire then plug the assemble into the dash... Air Horn Here You Come!!!
