Hey Chris. I agree with you. This size pickup is most the average buyer actually uses on a regular basis.

I just got a 2020 super crew XLT 4x4. Didn't go with an FX4 because I wouldn't really need/use it. I love the truck though. Great video by the way. Very informative and straight to the point.

Great review. Love to see the Ranger back! The worst feature to me seems to be the rear folding seat. They really need to redesign that to fold flat for hauling stuff.

What are the octane levels for Georgia gas? Here in Utah we are at 75/87/90 for premium...Another great review Chris!!! How do you rate this alongside the Honda Ridgeline? For someone who doesn't need to tow a house or carry a car in the bed...
@AutoAcademics3 жыл бұрын
Wow. 75? I don't know if I've even heard of that low a rating. Most of our stations have 87/89/91 and some places have 93. This Ranger is a true truck, whereas the Ridgeline is a little more carlike. If you have real truck stuff to do, you'll want something like this The_Notorious_9. But if you just need some capability to carry large items and want a more crossover-type ride, the Ridgeline will do you fine. Thanks for watching!

I was interested in the Ranger until I seen what I would actually be getting for the 40+ K’s... I recently went Colo ZR2 Duramax instead. Since Ford didn’t make available the Ranger Raptor to the U.S. they should’ve offered it instead as the FX4 package.
@Invader501st4 жыл бұрын
I mean if you like Chevy cool but the ranger is equally, capable, actually even more capable than the Colorado. Also if you comparing price tags the duramax after taxes run into the mid to high 50's after taxes..... i know because i looked. Standard Ranger to standard Colorado and the ranger beats it in specs all around.

@@gingerbreadman5756 nice thats a good deal, assuming you did a trade in because I looked at the prices and they're in the 50's

Ry C you must be looking at the ZR2 Bison because in WA state after rebates you will get the ZR2 Duramax mid 40 .. w/rebates/no trade. Check it out www.sunsetchevrolet.com/VehicleSearchResults?search=new

Good video and I like the behind the scenes part at the end. As for the truck I’ve been disappointed in the ranger since it came out. Coming from a 2001 sport trac, this ranger has failed on the interior of this spectrum, especially for the price. This current platform is old, the design is old and there is no need that ford had to attempt to charge this much for what is probably a 10 year old design (from when they started designing). Rear seats that don’t fold flat, a cheap looking interior, an already outdated exterior style, a bed that’s too high to be as practical as it can be and all for full size price. The engine and transmission, while appropriate for this size isn’t from any special ford bin so again it’s way over priced for what it is. I love fords so I’m not hating to hate, just disappointed in what ford put together. I’ll ride out what I have until the next gen comes out or spend the same money and get a f150.
@AutoAcademics5 жыл бұрын
We appreciate your comments, John Cardin. What you said is definitely something to think about. Thanks for watching!
@Invader501st4 жыл бұрын
So I mean to say that its outdated would be false. The Chevy Colorado, GMC and Toyota are even more outdated in terms of full revision. I personally own one and first off, my seats in the back fold flat, ive used it before, and secondly while ford does need to update their interiors, the ranger has a pretty nice interior with comfortable seats. YOU personally don't like the way it looks and that's your opinion but it's not outdated on anything technology or spec related, and actually beats the other competitors in a bunch of different categories. Also to say the engine and transmission isn't anything special is also false and then that would be applied across the entire midsize truck range because they all do the same thing. This is a truck with specific tuned 4 cylinder mustang engine with twin turbo that has more horse power than Tacoma V6 and while on spec it has less than 10 horsepower than a Colorado, it can beat it in a race due to the 10 speed transmission... oh and it can pull more than the Colorado, GMC and Tacoma excluding any duramax ( any midsize diesel truck over 50k should.)I really need to point out that in terms of transmission the ranger HAS the best in its class and yes it even beats Chevy. A 6 speed compared to a 10 speed makes a big difference. Also I got my ranger xlt with all the packages except leather for 39k after taxes sooooo yeah.
