Good video I like the use of the pallet quality idea...

Often thought of doing one of these videos but would probably be crap at it. Like to watch them though as you can always learn & get ideas from others!

Given me a few ideas for storage, not a pallet but false floor maybe. fuel and bottle storage is a pain and needs a rethink (in my van)
@GregsMowing5 жыл бұрын
Cheers Reas. I have actually changed it slightly since recording. The pallet is up against the bulkhead vertically. So I’m not dropping the mowers of the pallet each time I need them. Seems to be working better. Thanks for watching mate.

@@GregsMowing your van is amost the same size as mine but high top, I thought the height would be wasted, but looks like its working for you

false floor is a good thing to have handy for poles and extensions
@GregsMowing5 жыл бұрын
@@gardenmaintenanceuk7636 I've seem them, they look great for people with ladders to go under the floor and tools on top, screwdrivers etc, wouldn't be easy to lift mowers onto of all the time

How do you lift the mowers in and out 🤔any tips for handy ramps etc
@GregsMowing3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, in a transit custom I used to put the roller mowers on height 2 and bunny hope them in to the van. Now with a rwd van and more 4 wheel mowers etc I just use ramps, some stud work from Wickes think 2.4m long do the trick

Would you fit a husqvarna combi mulcher in if you had just one other small mower
@checker36945 жыл бұрын
Great video. What are the positives and negatives of this high roof smaller transit over your previous larger high roof transit. Is it worth the lower running cost, over the larger interior space. I am thinking of downsizing my MWB crafter for high roof custom but worry I am giving up to much for lower running costs. What are your thoughts, I am in the same business, maybe worth doing a video.
@GregsMowing5 жыл бұрын
worth checking the specs on sizes etc, the custom is fwd only, if your crafter is rwd the body may not be as big, that's what I found with the big transits, same year etc but fwd has more room in the back than rwd. The benefit of this particular van is the height so I can take stuff away and move big things but its small wheelbase which is fine for what I need and I can park in towns easier. might go back to a high roof transit who knows, I liked the interior of the new custom that it was one of the main reasons, costs all similar depends on spec etc. the short wheel base big transit is longer than the long wheel base transit custom, not by much but there is a difference

Nicely thought out set up. What's the yellow connector on the back of the Toro next to the gear selector?

@@josephmccole4132 Joseph I haven't run much husky stuff, their cordless stuff is great and the blowers are great also, can't comment on streamers or hedge cutters, Stihl are going downhill in my opinion that's why I have moved to echo which seems more powerful and better quality than Stihl. only good Stihl product I might buy if I had to is the bg86 hand held blower, but the husky 525bx is awesome

@@lukegardenerpro9132 I have one job where they want some so I get my mate to do it, I used to have a sprayer but too much hassle for the amount of work, people generally like to do it themselves round here
@gregnichol82904 жыл бұрын
Up here in the Southside of Glasgow area I do alot of regular maintenance. For the bigger gardens its usually a set price I charge per visit but i always include spraying in that as it makes my life easier but it's also much easier to keep gardens looking better if you keep on top of drives/pathways, spraying every 5/6 weeks. Youl hardly see a weed. The only thing I wouldn't include in regular maintenance is tree work and also lawn treatments which I do aswell. Some gardens with large hedges, the hedges will be a separate job as they are only generally done once or twice per year depending on the type of hedge. Always good to see how different people work and from different areas as theres always little things that are done differently even if for the most part it's pretty similar. Nice setup though, I'd be ditching those toros for two Honda's, two honda hrh mowers will last absolutely years and they are soo easy to maintain. I've run just about every mower under the sun, hayter, john Deere, honda, cobra, lawnflite, stihl, club cadet, etesia. Honda the best out of the lot by far

Wouldnt work for me.i have lwb hitop. have the front end of the van for tools, back half for waste,of which i get loads,i carry two mowers 2 hedge trimmers, 2 blowers .chain saw long pole etc.platform ladders which are attached to wheel arch with bungee cords,also hand tools etc.can see this set up might work for some, but not for me.

seems a bit like my set up from last year, I don't take much waste away from regular jobs so I try and work on getting things in and out in the easiest way and maximise the space, don't throw anything in. thanks for watching.
