JDStone Creations Correct, originally the car was a C12 and the only RHD C12, it was upgraded to S7.0 in 2001 by its first owner. Harry then Sold it to Andy who had it upgraded to S7.3 with a Zonda F front and the whole car was repainted with CF on the front bonnet. Andy sold it a couple of years ago and the new owner had the Exhaust and interior changed, its frequently spotted in London.

The first journalist to bring to life in the changes that are coming in the next few years as a result of the emissions legislation. Probably like many, I had assumed the first big hit would be for big engines but he is right, it is the small engined stuff, a lot of it fantastic fun to buzz around in, that forms the bulk of the sales volume and therefore the obvious choice to go first to get the fleet volume average down. Great insight. Plus the annual pilgramage to Mansory - I suspect Mansory wait with baited breath for this video to be released - if Harry is disgusted they know their customer base will lap it up - they must dread the day Harry says that something on the stand is tasteful, that is the point their business collapses!

True but with hybridisation we'll still have V8s for a while longer. AMGs future V8 Hybrid powertrain is rumoured to be sold from 2020 onwards. Lots of other manufactures are working on V8 Hybrids too. Lamborghini's geo said they are working on a V10 Hybrid powertrain too. So long as manufactures can keep the fleet emissions down (through hybridisations and EVs), we'll still have some nice engines around (for a while). Also didn't Christian von Koenigsegg state that the V8 in the Jesko will be homologated until 2026 (and that's pre hybridisation).
@richardcarter10005 жыл бұрын
@@DanielSadjadian I think it's just a shame that so much weight, cost and complexity will be added to cars just to meet some EU regs. You only have to look at the number of £1k Priuses out there with dud batteries to see its all eco nonsense really. The batteries cost more to replace than the cars are worth. Great for new car sales I guesd is the thinking. But good for the planet? No.
@DanielSadjadian5 жыл бұрын
@@richardcarter1000 Very true, it sucks. I also would much prefer a a light weight sports car with a V8 and proper driving dynamics. Although with extensive use of carbon fiber, the body weight of future Hybrids can be kept down (despite the weight of the batteries). For car enthusiasts I think the negative will be that we'll have less overall choice, but on the positive side of things, we'll have more powerful/advanced cars in the little choice we get.
@richardcarter10005 жыл бұрын
@@DanielSadjadian Indeed. I guess the model is you basically rent/hire all cars in future due to the ever shorter lifecycles and they are 'recycled' after a few years. Pure EVs will work in towns if you have somewhere off road to plug them in overnight.
@free_spirit15 жыл бұрын
It's a good thing. EU7 doesn't care whether you hybridize, they just care about emissions, so manufacturers will have to curb them in a variety of ways, from making cars much lighter, decreasing drag coefficients and yes, hybridizing. But what's wrong with that? You get better acceleration and better use of energy. Currently we use only a fourth of the power available in gasoline, so it's good manufacturers are pushed to increase that number.
@brbenefield5 жыл бұрын
I went to the show on Monday and still couldn't wait to see Harry's coverage. Excellent job, as always. It's not an easy job to summarize something this immense. My only gripe is that I found plenty new to see at the BMW stand: X5, X7, face-lifted 7 series and more. And it's worth noting that I found the massive kidneys on the X7, and especially the 7 series, much more flattering in person. I almost lost my lunch when I first saw images of the new grills but they are imposing and actually attractive when they're right in front of you.

@@VAspeed3 It's also a dated, inefficient, slow- and low-revving, lazy engine. You can only have two valves per cylinder, which is another big downside. The LS is popular, because it's compact, cheap and relatively reliable power, but it's not the end-all of engine tech, fairly primitive in fact. It's fine for certain kinds of American sports cars and self-made projects that are more about the numbers than how the engine actually behaves in reality - power and torque numbers only tell part of the picture. In the last year I must have checked out the English speaking world of car presenters. Good old “Harry” to my mind is right up there in the top three. Quite a guy. Solid authority. Solid credibility and “lastability” new word, for a gentleman who’s done it all. This was a perfect example of his craft. His words did the talking, the pictures in perfect sync. So much better than the younger guys. The one’s we see too much of their faces. They seem to me narcissistic to me. Good old Harry puts the cars front and centre, a true pro. Thanks Harry!

Yes, the rear end looks nice, but what did they do with that grille? :( I hope there will be some aftermarket solution to this one.

And I thought the Bangle years were the worst for BMW design. They have to take their investment out of their Xanzucheun Design Haus

I look forward to your Geneva video every year and this lived up to the hype superbly. Great video. I'd love to see longer videos from you more often, in particular the silverstone auctions videos. At this point I'd say you are without peer in terms of car based KZbin content. James might get the scoop on new stuff but I much prefer your approach to the whole thing. This is the sort of stuff you can pour a big tumbler of something strong to and enjoy.

The only Geneva video worth watching in my opinion, thanks for making it so detailed

So Tesla expects a typical supercharging stop to take 15 minutes with the V3 chargers (around 30 min right now). Not sure how that would be a problem in a road trip scenario, keeping in mind that most people charge overnight at home and as a result start out every day with a full battery, i.e. you'll almost never have to go out of your way to get more fuel/electrons in day to day use.

Mouching around town in the wifes Tesla in traffic is great. But you have to drive like you have an egg under the gas if you are on the open road. A passing or hilly section and it eats half the battery. Our old B8 RS4 V8 was less of a hassle planning a journey

@@fraserwright9482 No, that's not correct. Tesla's range is measured on the same driving cycle as any other car. So the question is just 1: is the range enough to get through a normal day? And 2: is 15-30 minutes quick enough for a charging stop on a road trip? The answer to both of These questions is yes, for a large majority of users.

That Mark Zero Piech is stunning. Probably one of my favorite modern designs ever.

Perhaps Jaguar did not want to experience the embarrassment of watching another great British brand, Aston Martin, devolving into building hideous play toys for the ultra rich.

Michael Ptohopoulos You do have a fair point but what happens when we do get the advancements in electric vehicles that will far surpass efficiency of an ICE? That may come in only 5 to 10 years, I don’t know how they will compare that time but food for thought.
