Sauceboss its a murphy bed that folds up and out of the way. You can also use the dinnete at the rear for a larger bed and never use the murphy bed if you choose.

Clayton you do a great job describing these trailers. Can you show the white and yellow tag in future videos? It shows the weights for the trailer and would be great to see that. With the weight and tongue weight for this trailer it easily fits in the range for many sport utilities with enough cargo capacity left on the SUV to have a couple kids, dog etc in the truck and not exceed weights. Really nice looking camper, awesome for getting away and it would be easy to get it off the road into a nice hidden retreat for a weekend or month. Maybe not a month unless you watched the water. The water hook up not being separated from the front storage is worrisome. If you have a hose that decides to start leaking or bust, anything in your front storage is soaked. That rear storage is nice, but I hope you are instructing the buyers on how to not overload the trailer behind the wheels.

An interesting trailer floorplan. Overall the walk-through was spot on and understandable. For a minor point-of-clarification, the door for the bathroom is a barn-door style and not a "pocket door". A true pocket door actually fits between two thinner walls and is mostly hidden from view (except for the leading edge) when it's in the open position. The murphy bed was unexpected, but it's a great use for the smaller space in this layout. I wonder if there is enough room to add a mattress topper or if the stored space is just enough for the existing mattress. It looked like it folded the mattress in half in the stored position, but it wasn't clear in the video.

Best travel trailer video i have seen. I am trying to learn all i can before purchase ...and i must get a different car, i see. Now i have to find which vehicle tows 6000 pounds. I do not know if i can buy one from Canada, as i am in the USA near the border off hwy 395. However, i loved this trailer. It seems to consider older folks and those with physical challenges. It gives me a new standard to compare to. The bathrooms i have seen on smaller trailers are just horrid! This was much better. Murphy bed idea, wow! Does it damage the mattress, though? nice but wish the dinette had sofa instead. The murphy bed couch isn’t comfortable to sit on, needs more padding. The reclining sofa much better.

Where does that large extra table cushion get stored when its not being used?

George Reed, thanks for you question. The rear dinette sleeping cushion can be stored in various locations when not in use. One of these spots that works really well is tucked up at head board of the main bed when it is not in use, you can have the Murphy bed in the up or down position and its fits in quite nicely. Good morning and thanks for the message! Great question on the bed as we have gone a different direction in the design of this from other manufactures. There is no specific weight rating, but I can tell you that it will not break by sitting at the end. It is a 2” laminated aluminum framed bed base, similar to how our side wall is built. Don't they legally have to specify a weight limit, or do they expect everybody to use common sense and not intentionally test it, seeing how much weight they can put on it until it gives way?

Let me tell you something about all trailers, the thing most important, the thing that people will SpEND 99percent OF the time in it doing is sitting or sleeping... and none of the seating is furniture level or automobile seating level.. It's like a damm plywood box with a foam cushion level and as comfortable and durable.. Its a simple fix but the cheap bassterds don't do it

Wildhog32, great question! The sturdiness at the end of the bed is excellent. The entire bed platform is laminated with aluminum framing just like the side walls. The flexibility of the Murphy bed in the Imagine XLS is second to none. We hope this helps!!😀

Julio Correa Luna, thanks for your question. Based on the dry weight of the trailer, you would want a bare minimum of 6000 to 6,500 tow capacity. Toyota Tacoma for example in some of the models has a 6500lb tow rating which is good for this type of trailer. We hope this helps!!😀

How does one contend with the possibility of the hoses leaking in the front compartment? I don't believe that was even addressed.

Wildhog32, if your hoses are hooked up correctly with secure fittings you don’t have any water spillage. Also, any water that potentially may drip should drain through the port hole access. You will need to wipe up any excess water that may spray when unhooking your hose, which is the case for all RV’s with enclosed utility compartments. I hope this helps with your question. billg1527, thank you for the comment. The item you’ve noticed is a finishing product called seam tape. Seam tape matches the wall board panel and simply covers where two wall panels come together. In this case it looks as though the seam tape hasn’t been completely pressed on. In our PDI process at our dealership we would easily catch this and remedy it quickly. I had always like the Grand Design RV's but this one is very disappointing.. couch looks cheap, don't trust the bed and the bathroom is across from the kitchen..

Nancy Speelman, thank you for your comments. We’re sorry to hear some of the aspects of this floor plan don’t meet your requirements. If you’re truly in the market for a small RV and haven’t seen this one in person, we would still recommend you take advantage. In most circumstances we’ve found that once we’ve had the opportunity to show off all the features and benefits in the various floor plans available, our customers views and opinions swing more favourable. In addition, we’ve also found that in most trailers at this length, whether the bathroom is at the back or on the side it’s usually right beside the kitchen or close to it in some fashion, hard to completely get away from in small trailers. Currently we don’t feel there is a perfect Murphy bed on the market that checks every box fully. We do however feel that when you consider all the different types and styles of Murphy beds available we come to the conclusion that the GDRV setup is the most functional overall. The key for GDRV in this Design was to provide the most functional 60x80 Residential size Murphy bed on the market while still giving you the industry leading pass through storage they’ve come to be known for. We do understand though that not every RV fits everyone’s needs and wants perfectly. One of the cool parts about the Imagine XLS is that GDRV has bolstered the floor plan offering going into 2019, so there may be a floor plan you would prefer better. LMAO you are kidding aren’t you? The salesman told you it was sturdy what more do you want. That frame is stronger than any bed frame you have in your house. No I am not kidding either. The aluminum frame that supports the bed is very strong plus under the bed it has 5/8” plywood laying on top of the aluminum frame.
