Today I am test riding and doing a full review of the 2019 Harley Davidson Road Glide! This Road Glide has the Special Package which is all blacked out and looks incredible! The Road Glide and Road Glide special are 2 of Harley Davidson's most iconic motorcycles and are easily recognized by their squared off frame mounted fairing which houses the new 2019 Boom! Box GTS. Harley's new Boom! Box GTS system has apple car play built-in along with native gps, bluetooth, and phone connection capabilities as well as voice control for all infotainment system commands. This motorcycle has it all for a great bagger or touring setup. Check out the Harley Davidson 2019 Road Glide today!
Shout-out to Mountain Creek Harley of Georgia for setting up this amazing ride for me!

I bòught a 2018 RGS in Wicked Red. I upgraded the windshield to a 12" Long Ride Shields, added a rider back rest, heat shields, cool flow fan and 14" KlockWerks Kliphanger handlebars. End result....the bike handles like a Softail, rides like a tourer and I have no wind buffeting on my head. Friends and I rode to Cali and back in May. Great ride...no mechanical issues &...no back issues!

I'll agree with most of everything you said except...the passenger seat area sucks for a passenger, the bars (at least for me and many others) are uncomfortable after a couple hours of riding. You had the vents closed that help with the wind buffeting, the vents are one of the reasons I bought this bike (2018 RGS) my Yamaha has a full batwing fairing and on hi ways my helmet/glasses would be moving so bad it would give me a headache after an hour or so. I also agree the difference between a frame mounted fairing versus a fork mounted fairing is a huge difference. I've added the Hammock seat, a set of KST Kustom 10" mini apes and a few other add on's and love it!

Just to clarify: Pairing your phone doesn't give you all the voice functions. It pretty much gets you music. If you want to be able to actually talk you need to add the wireless module ($299) and if you want you music in stereo while using that module you have to use the Harley headset ($250?). Otherwise your music will be mono using a non-HD headset. Gotta pay to play I guess.

I'm an original fixed fairing guy too. my Victory Vision fixed fairing managed the elements better than any bar mounted fairing. The only thing I didn't like was that the touch screen on the Roadglide is too far away , too far a reach. and yes, the shield is cool but too short. I don't know about the 19's but the 17 Ultra I rode , the suspension was VERY harsh. It jarred me and the wife on a bump that we wouldn't even notice on my Roadmaster. I loved the Milwaukee 8 power though but for e the Roadmaster was a better overall package.

@Bredaxe
@Bredaxe 6 жыл бұрын
@@mrh3085 That price doesn't matter, it's a price floating around dealer invoice. It's not like the factory couldn't restructure that price. HD pricing has produced a wall in terms of growth and their rabidly loyal fans are aging, and have most likely already purchased their last bike. Now they have to figure out how to sell their niche product in a niche industry, with potential buyers who are far from brand loyal and more value conscious. That's why a price restructuring is important, because a bailout won't happen again. What tells me they have no clue is the $22k they want for that FXDR nobody asked for.

Completely off-topic but: Suppose you use those bike's speakers to play music while making the youtube video, would it cause copyright strike on the video?
@MOTOBLADE
@MOTOBLADE 5 жыл бұрын
Not off topic at all. If the music is clear enough and plays for a long enough duration - YES. Has happened on a few recent videos with my Chieftain Dark Horse where I was riding and had music playing with bluetooth so it was crystal clear and bam - copyrighted. It's not a 'strike' when that happens. You're video will remain monetized and instead of that money going to you it goes to the copyright holder of the music. Glad someone asked about that! Road Glide has an extra 10kgs over the street glide. Having the fairing on the forks is the same as mounting to frame because all the weight still goes down to the two tyres

It's a new thing! And the addition of power steering is amazing and makes the bike very easy to handle 😁 I cringed when I was editing and heard myself say steering column instead of fork, but hopefully everyone knows what I meant. If not, maybe they shouldn't be starting out on a bike this big! 😂

As a 1st Generation Road Glide owner (Evo powered) I am ALWAYS in awe of how far these bikes have evolved over the years. Here's my 95th Anniversary Road Glide which is 100% stock and unmolested with only 136,000 miles on her. What is new for the 2019 indians? looks like they still have the same 111 motor (2 valves/cylinder) and infotainment system. Their site shows rear cylinder deactivation added but harley has had EITMS for a decade. I am in the market for a Chieftain or a RG but not seeing what makes Indian ahead of the game. They did well against the twin-cam in 2014 but what has changed with the thunderstroke in 5 years?

@@crawl994 That 111 is an award winning engine. Produces same torque as the Milwaukee 8 114. Has the rear cylinder deactivation and now different power modes you can put the engine into. It's ride command system also blows Harleys infotaiment system out of the water. I also like the look of Indian better and they are America's first motorcycle company, but that part is just personal preference. My best suggestion is always test ride everything and buy whichever bike you fall in love with, regardless of what other people say or think. It's all for the love of 2 wheels. 😁

I have an old 96 interstate Honda. I would love to have a Harley between my legs but, if I did, I would lose the dependability my Honda has as well as features. My run in oil clutch never needs adjustments or even replacing as long as I use Honda approved oil. I would also lose these features: reverse, air ride on the go rear shocks, shaft drive, and center stand. Everything on a Honda is built in,not bolted or strapped on. The only thing my Honda lacks is GPS and I have a phone for that!
