Tim Percy..your thoughts on the Boonedox Landing Gear voiding the Hobie Warranty? I didn't find out about this until after I bought my PA 14 this weekend. They, DE Paddlesports, said they installed a 9" backing plate. I have the latest Groovey model. I don't intend to load my kayak when launching/loading with the Boonedox Landing Gear, so hopefully I won't stress the screws and crack the yak. I hope being careful, and not loading the kayak while loading/launching will preclude any cracking. BTW, I'm installing all of the equipment you have in your video, less the anchor. You should make up some 'customized by Time Percy' stickers so I can stick one on my boat. I believe your setup is the best out there...very professional. Thanks again for all your help.

Thank you. I don't use Boondox... I have no issue with the Hobie scupper carts. Between my weight and the other gear I have on the kayak...I don't need to add any unwanted weight :) I don't think you would have a warranty issue with anything else that doesn't relate to the Boondox install.

I really enjoy your vids Tim, especially your kayak rigging vids. I sold my 2015 PA14 last spring for a Compass, and ended up regretting that move. I recently sold the Compass and found a great deal on a used 2016 PA14, so this video is very timely as I get the PA rigged to my liking. I liked your use of the Geartrac bar clamps. I managed to find a couple of sets available online, and will add a set to the front rails and another on my H-Crate. Once you get one, take it out and figure out the type of fishing you are going to do and what accessories you want to add. The good thing is, you can add a bit a time. The one thing I always suggest; buy the largest fish finder you are comfortable paying for. Next would be; buy a large enough lithium battery to handle all your future needs

Hi Tim..sorry to bother you again. I installed my Berley Pro Orb light on my H-Crate. Looks nice. I also mounted a Berley Pro Orb Dimmer Switch below the light. I have a photo I can send you of my setup if you're interested in seeing it. I really like it. Anyway, the Dimmer switch came with two red wires. I assume I wire the dimmer switch in-line (in series) with my red/hot wire coming from my Orb Light? There were no wiring instructions. BTW, I mounted everything you mounted on your 2019 PA14, exactly the way you did. I couldn't be happier. The Tim Percy signature model. Everything is mounted professionally (by me) with the YAK Power Management System, Point 1 GPS, Lowrance Live 7 HDS, LED (red) lighting, 2 Yak Power Ports (external), Combo Voltmeter USB port, etc. Can't wait to try everything out this weekend. I heard there were a lot of issues/problems with the TI2. I'm going to pick up my kayak this weekend.
@TimPercyKayakFishing5 жыл бұрын
The HDS Live will consume a fair bit more power than the Ti2. The mount I used is just the Hobie H-Rail accessory mount. I use the Yak-Power port kits to run the power back there and added the plug to the ORB with a bit more wire to give me the length I need to plug it into the port
